Got it!! Hello ladies! How are you all?

Coming up to 36 weeks for me and I’m completely unprepared 🙈

Quiffy · 27/10/2020 18:34

@Fredthespider ahhh 36 weeks is so exciting. Now you have the fun of knowing babes could appear at 37 or like 42 😹 Have you got you hospital bag packed? I don’t think that prepared feeling ever comes 😅

OP posts:
Fredthespider · 27/10/2020 19:31

@Quiffy I've made a list, does that count?! I have also at least got the bag out of the cupboard, I just need to fill it haha. Last one came at 39+2, so I'm kinda expecting this one will be early too. Last day at work is 38+1 so I'm hoping for a week to chill.

How are you getting on? You must have popped by now!

Quiffy · 28/10/2020 06:25

@Fredthespider not too long before mat leave then! You lasted much longer than me, I gave up at 36 weeks and then binge watched Too Chef for 4 weeks 😹

Baby is here! Arrived on 29th September after a failed induction went into a emergency c-section. He’s 4 weeks yesterday and growing like a mushroom 😅 he’s colic so nights can be fun. He’s spent midnight to 2am screeching and now he’s wide awake again at 6 😴

Omg hi!! Thanks for the add! ❤️
I’m still watching the original thread too but I’m also conscious of going on too much about the other side of the BFP 😬

MASSIVE congrats, @Quiffy!! ❤️
Hope all went ok for you? It really is a shock how little sleep you get isn’t it! My DS had cmpa (intolerant to all dairy even through my milk) so he was a screamer too 😬 keep him as upright as you can during the day, maybe also see if you can tilt the head end of baby’s bed/cot/basket as I found that helped DS massively x

I feel so far behind you both! I’m 16 weeks tomorrow, feels like it’s flown by so far! Feeling frustrated at the moment as nausea and food aversions (to pretty much everything!) that I thought were done have made a raging return this week 😫 lots of hot flushes and heart burn too. Still waiting for my glow and some proper baby wiggles 🥰 Xx

Mumofboys17 · 28/10/2020 16:08

Tilt the head end UP that should say 😂 just so baby isn’t laying totally flat x

Quiffy · 29/10/2020 11:40

@Mumofboys17 I can’t believe that’s you 16 weeks already! It feels like yesterday you got your bfp. Nausea urgh it’s so horrible and debilitating and everyone says it’s gone by 12 weeks so rubbish when it isn’t. I never got that fabled glow 😹😹

Is your husband being allowed into scans where you are? Ooo are you going to find out the sex?

He had an amazing night last night but knowing our little monster it must have been a blue moon hehe. Our snuzpod has that reflux tilt so been using that and dentanox (or whatever it’s called) and co lactase. He’s like a walking pharmacy hehe.

Mumofboys17 · 29/10/2020 12:51

@Quiffy I know it's gone crazy quick so far!! Goes even quicker once they're here, believe me! 😉😂
Yeah we're really lucky where we are DH has been able to come to scans with me, was your OH allowed in for baby's arrival? We've been told DH can be my single birthing partner but he can't leave my side or the labour ward, if he does they won't let him back in!! 😳
We're deffo finding out the sex (I wanted a surprise this time but DH really wants to know 🙄😂) and that's only 4 weeks away!! I'm convinced it's another boy and DH reckons girl haha so we shall see!

Bless him, newborns are bloody hard work aren't they! I keep thinking wtf have we done doing it again 😂😂 those nights feel SO long but it really is so temporary. I'm blissfully ignorant at the moment and half can't wait for all the snuggles and boob feeding again 🙊😂😂 maybe I'm just weird hahaha xx

Quiffy · 30/10/2020 13:09

@Mumofboys17 that’s wonderful on scans! It makes such a difference. Luckily dh was allowed in for all my growth scans so although he missed my 12 and 20 he got to see him on screen and we bought a 3D scan that was wonderful. Birth wise I got induced, he was allowed to bring me to ward and stay an hour but I was alone after that. I was told he wouldn’t be allowed in until 4 cm but when my waters went and I was transferred to delivery suite, midwife told me to phone dh and my mum to come in.

Which was good as I went over 12 hours on the drip and never dilated despite very strong contractions. I don’t think I’d have coped without them. After my emergency section I was allowed them there for 1 hour then I was left alone, which was horrible but I was discharged the following afternoon. If I hadn’t it was a 30 minute visit only and we had the same rule for delivery that if they left they wouldn’t be allowed back in. Absolutely crazy times.

Ahhh so exciting getting to find out and then you can go mad buying things ❤️❤️ That was my favourite part. Oooh I wonder which one of you will be right eeee. Do you have a bump yet? Have you told ds?

The snuggles are amazing, makes up for the little monster refusing to sleep 😹😹

OP posts:
Mumofboys17 · 30/10/2020 13:52

@Quiffy oh bless you, what a saga! Thank goodness you were both ok in the end. I've never been induced, one of my friends was though and she said it was really intense, we women are superheroes really 🦸‍♀️
Good that you were allowed your mum and DH too! I'd really like my mum with me as well but been told just the one partner for now.. got 5 ish months to go yet though so lord knows it could all change again by then! Mad, mad times indeed!

I feel massive already 😆 I'm really bloated this time there's deffo no hiding it at all now. I do carry quite big, DS was 8lb5 so I'm terrified this ones going to be bigger 🙈 spose everything's already been stretched out once so I'll be fine, right?! 😂
Yeah DS knows, he tells everyone about the baby in mummy's tummy.. Strangers in Asda, the hairdresser, and just about everyone at his nursery 😂😂 bless him haha, if only he knew how his world was about to change!

How's your little mans colicky-ness been? Any improvement? It's hell sometimes when you're not sleeping, just do whatever you need to get you through each day/night, everything else can wait! ❤️

Mumofboys17 · 24/11/2020 10:37

@BFP2020 @Missgoldilocks
Need to revive this thread - deffo now there's so many of us finally getting our long awaited bumps and babas! ❤️

Hope everyone is doing ok 🥰 I'm 20 weeks this week, next scan is next Tuesday! Can't wait to find out what we're having now! Xx

Missgoldilocks · 24/11/2020 11:26

@Mumofboys17 thanks for the tag!! Omg that's so exciting I bet you can't wait!! What do you think it is from symptoms?
I'm 5 weeks today, so early ❤️ I'm so so tired all the time that's my main Symptom and I've been getting a lot of heartburn. Getting quite hungry now too 😅 xx

How is everyone else doing?

Mumofboys17 · 25/11/2020 13:30

@Missgoldilocks haha lovely, enjoy all the food!! Hopefully you don't get any aversions over Xmas and can fully indulge 😉 get as much rest as you can, easier said than done when you're already a mum, of course!! Xx
I'm really not sure! I feel like I just know it's a boy, but then I really hoped and felt like I was having a girl last time, and DS was deffo a boy😂 DH reckons a girl but I think he's just secretly hoping for a girl! I'll be happy either way, feels like a total game changer once you do know, though!

@Quiffy hows things going with your little man lovely? Xx
@Fredthespider hope you're ok?! Xx

Quiffy · 25/11/2020 17:17

@Missgoldilocks YESSSSS I’m so happy for you ❤️❤️❤️ This is amazing news. You must be completely over the moon. When is your due date? How you feeling?

@Mumofboys17 so exciting to find out what flavour baby 😻 how have you been feeling too?

Sorry went a bit awol, been feeling v low and stressed and doc thinks I have pnd. My mum has come to stay with us so that’s helping a lot. Hoping his colic improves soon, he does seem to be getting less pained and sleeping a bit more which is great. Got his 8 week vaccinations tomorrow 😅😅😅

OP posts:
Missgoldilocks · 25/11/2020 19:35

@Mumofboys17 haha its funny I'm hungry but I want bland things. Thinking about rich food makes me feel sick and I love rich food 😂 definitely hoping I'm okay for Xmas, I'm wanting to cook on the day!! Thinking about going out for dinner now though. Ahh I can't wait for you to find out so exciting 😍❤️

@Quiffy thank youuuu xx finally it happened lol. I'm due late July early August, the due date calculator says 27th July but that's going off when my period was, from ovulation it would be early August so guess I need to wait for the scan.
Sorry you've been feeling down, I had the same after my son. Its hard work and I felt like my emotions were all over the place along with my hormones. Take it easy, one day at a time, you've got this and it sounds like you're getting support which is amazing xx

Girls did your symptoms come and go? All day I haven't felt sick I was getting worried but now I feel sick. I just want my boobs to kill me 😂😂 but I'm still so early so I just need to relax. You just hear such bad stories and it worries you doesn't it!! Xxx

Mumofboys17 · 26/11/2020 14:16

@Missgoldilocks YES! I even posted on our conception thread panicking as I woke up one day and all symptoms disappeared. I cried all day thinking I was losing the baby and then next day sickness hit me like a tonne of bricks and my boobs felt like they'd explode 😂 totally normal, I'd only be worried if you have bleeding or pain but of course if you're concerned at all then always seek advice to be safe xxx

@Quiffy I'm no medical professional, and don't want to fill your head with ideas 😂 but your DS sounds just like mine in the newborn weeks. My DS had an intolerance to dairy (not lactose - ALL cows milk products) his reflux was awful, I kept being told it was 'just colic' but he would scream for HOURS and I was in total despair from lack of sleep! I was breastfeeding so I completely cut dairy out of my diet and within a couple days he was like a new baby. If you're bottle feeding then defo get onto the GP about it as they can prescribe a hydrolysed formula. Xxx

Missgoldilocks · 30/11/2020 19:49

@Mumofboys17 this thread is quiet isn't it!! Thanks lol I have been feeling sicker and definitely not complaining 😂😁 we are going to book in for a early scan for the 21st december I think. Do you know about the app peanut? How are you feeling anyway? X

Fredthespider · 30/11/2020 21:37

Hope you’re feeling better @Quiffy. PND is hard but so common so don’t feel like you’re alone. I’m glad your mum can help.

My spiderling arrived last weekend so we’re settling into being a family of 4 now which is scary. I think he’s got a small tongue tie as feeding is difficult. He can take 5 mins just to latch then it’s agony on the nipples.

Birth however was a breeze compared to first time! 3 sets of stitches but they’re all superficial and not causing too much issue. Throw in a little ab separation and you really appreciate what we put our bodies through. Worth it though 🥰

Mumofboys17 · 02/12/2020 08:55

@Fredthespider massive congratulations, 'little spiderling ' haha that's so cute I love that! ❤️ you've filled me full of hope saying it was easier second time!! 😂 DS's birth was bloody awful so really hoping no2 won't be so difficult! Hope you can get the tongue tie sorted too, bless him xx
We found out yesterday we are expecting another boy! DH and I are buzzing about it now, had the expected reaction from family because 'it's not a girl' 🙄 (boys are VERY common in our family!) why do people do this?! But, now the initial reveals are out the way we can just get on plus DS is so excited to have a baby brother 🥰

@Missgoldilocks sorry the last few days have been so busy here! Had a scare on Saturday with some nasty cramps so spent the night on labour ward (everything is 100% fine now) then we're in the middle of a bathroom renovation plus normal Christmas prep... sleep is for the weak, that's all I'll say 😂😂 how are you feeling? Xx

Quiffy · 04/12/2020 11:15

@Fredthespider congratulations!!!! How’s he getting on now?

@Mumofboys17 glad everything is okay, that’s so very scary :( a boy!! That is wonderful news. There seems to be so much pressure on babies to be a different sex. I know if we have a second it’s v likely to be a boy as dh side is all boys but know we’ll have people saying oh that’s a shame which is so stupid.

@Missgoldilocks A scan just before Christmas is so exciting. How are your symptoms?

The gp doesn’t think it’s an intolerance, she pretty much just said to get on with it as she wouldn’t recommend medicating a baby with gaviscon or anything as she didn’t with hers. The other gp who is dealing with me said just phone and ask for it. He’s (fingers crossed) been ok and not screaming constantly now so everyone is getting some sleep. We’re getting lots of smiles so think he’s feeling happier himself. He’s had to go on antibiotics too as he’s got a cyst on his bum, honestly it’s never ending atm. I’m hoping that colic phase is getting better as we’re approaching 10 weeks and they say it improves towards 3 months.

OP posts:
Mumofboys17 · 04/12/2020 11:25

@Quiffy it's so bizarre! Not one person has actually congratulated us this time and it's almost like people expect you to be disappointed 🙄 we're buzzing haha I can't wait to see if he looks like his older brother! I'm just destined to be forever outnumbered by willies! 😂 same here in DH's family ALL of them are boys! Very few girls!
Grrr some GP's really DO NOT get it!! Honestly I took DS1 (can say 1 now! 🙊) back to the GP like 5 times over 2 weeks. DH took a video of DS having a screaming fit in the end as no one ever took our word for it, we were just put down to being first time parents that couldn't handle a crying baby. I shit you not the GP took one look at the video and he was horrified, he apologised and referred us to a paediatric hot clinic that same day!!
All I can say is YOU, mama, know best. Even if he is your first! Don't ever take anyone else's word for it (even dr's!) I'm honestly not against the NHS at all (I've actually worked for the NHS most of my adult life! 😂) but please don't ever justify it if you feel something isn't right. I'm sure you're doing an amazing job regardless xxx

Fredthespider · 05/12/2020 14:50

@Quiffy we're getting on ok now thanks. Tongue tie was snipped yesterday so we're hoping to see an improvement on the feeding in a day or two. Next battle is getting him to sleep in his next to me and not on me! How are you doing now? My first had reflux and it was rubbish frankly. We were lucky that we could get ranitidine, but they recalled it late last year and now the go to is gaviscon which isn't quite as effective and a pain to give to breastfed babies.

@Mumofboys17 people will always have an opinion as though you can pick which one you get!! We have one of each now and have had so many comments about how it's the 'perfect family' and that it's complete now even though we're quite keen on a third. I think two boys will be wonderful for you, and it'll save you money on buying more clothes Grin

Weirdly I was convinced we were going to have a girl. OH's friends circle has 13 children now, 12 girls and my 1 boy. I think we were all in shock!

@Missgoldilocks not long until your scan!! Are you planning to tell people at Christmas or have you already shared the good news?

Mumofboys17 · 05/12/2020 16:43

@Fredthespider god the 'perfect family' comment has been thrown around previously, a close friend had a girl as her second recently (already has a boy). It was something along the lines of 'yeah we're done now we have one of each, you can always try again though' 🙄 I'm like, why is it a goal to have a girl? I'm deffo not planning on a third haha I'm sticking with the little team of boys I already have! 🥰 Rant over, we're happy, that's all that matters! At least my MN name is still relevant 😂😂
Glad to hear you've had the tongue tie sorted, hopefully feeding gets easier for you! I have a next2me I plan on using again too, DH used to wake up and see me half in it with DS in a bid to get him to sleep 😂 duno if you've already tried but I used to put a microwave bean bag in there whilst giving DS his bed time feed so the bed was warm when I put him down, that seemed to help a little bit most nights xx

@Missgoldilocks buzzing to hear your reveal stories and see a scan! Hope you're keeping ok xx

Missgoldilocks · 05/12/2020 22:39

@Mumofboys17 @quiffy @Fredthespider hey everyone, glad to hear you are all okay!!

@Mumofboys17 Congratulations on another boy!! Hey I'm the same, I think it'll be a boy, it's all Mars energy in our house haha my OH said if it's a boy we will have to get a girl cat 😂 😻 sorry I have been sooo knackered (not complaining 😂) and the sickness, I constantly feel like I need to eat something to keep it at bay but dry foods! I bought ginger ale today which has helped! Also went to the gym and I'm getting really tired from basic things but I'm at least trying to still get some movement in just nothing too stressful! Are you going to have a baby shower? Xx

@Fredthespider glad the tongue tie has sorted itself out! I've told my best friend my mum and my sis but everyone else will need to wait till the scan so it'll be a Christmas eve reveal for others closest to us. Xx

Missgoldilocks · 05/12/2020 22:41

@quiffy @Mumofboys17 I also think my mum wants me to have a girl, but who cares what other people want. A girl would be nice but so would a boy I just want a healthy baby :) as we all do!! I grew up in a house all girls, me my mum and sister and all taurus!! I'm enjoying being around willy's 😂😂
