I've not had much in the way of nausea yet. I had none with my DS14 but had an MMC the month before I conceived him and in that pregnancy I had one random mild episode that came on literally out of nowhere - felt mildly nauseous and then suddenly had to grab a bag and one utterly horrific morning where I couldn't move. It came on the same way as the mild time but was quickly horrendous and lasted all morning. Every time I moved my head even a centimetre, I was overwhelmed with the most crippling nausea and vomiting. Getting out of bed was not even an option. Only ever had that once and am convinced that it was when the MMC occurred.

Hi ladies still in shock but I got my BFP on Mon with a due date of 25th June. In fairness we weren't using contraception but as my DD who is 19 months took 5 years TTC and a round of IVF it's a massive but very welcome surprise.
I don't really have any symptoms but I didn't with my DD but for peace of mind I'll have an early scan as the wait for 12 week scan would kill me.
@Humpty11 when I had to track cycles for my previous IVF spotting never counted they always counted the first day of full flow as cycle day 1 so for you that sounds like the 4/9.

@ArtfulScreamer what a beautiful surprise 😍 massive congratulations! Your body obviously knew what to do this time 😍.
Thank you! That’s what I thought but then I read that if it’s out of the ordinary then the spotting days count so I was really confused. Thanks for replying 😊

@humpty11 spotting isnt classed as period it is recorded from full flow so i would put due date as the 8th june to the 11th june..... i too have 25 day cycles and my lmp was 08/09 so nhs website says im due 12th june whereas others state 15th june because they dont take into account short cycle. I hope this helps

@Bbdm1984 thank you, that’s really helpful ☺️. I’m sure the midwife bases it on a 28 day cycle too from what I remember from the last time but it didn’t make any difference because that was my cycle length then.

Had the worst night last night, I am getting night nausea. And I can't sleep, and it's all night. Ended up on the sofa to prop myself up a bit. Not sure if it's worse dry heaving and feeling nauseated for an entire night or if I were to actually be sick. I am exhausted and extra emotional this morning, but the nausea is easing. @bestsquirrelinthewholehole Sorry you had such a crappy night's sleep. I've also not actually been sick yet, but it's a lottery everyday as to when the nausea's going to hit. Yay 😞😂

@bestsquirrelinthewholehole sorry to hear that, I hope it lets up soon! I'm just a bit behind you as just 6 weeks today.

I've had terrible excessive saliva for the past 10 days I'm like a Saint Bernard which has brought on nausea and going for a wee soooo much (definitely lots lots more than with DD)

I’m off work on annual leave today til next Monday, and seems like good timing cos I’ve been up since 6 feeling yuck and craving gingerbread men except I can’t get out of bed.

PinkPlantCase · 23/10/2020 10:58

I’m feeling quite ill at the minute too. Sicky, tired and a bit sad. Not much motivation to do anything because all I really want to do is sleep 😴😴

It feels like we have so long ahead of us doesn’t it.

I was really really bloated yesterday 😂 the most pregnant I have ever looked. Belly is back to a more normal size today.

Report
bestsquirrelinthewholehole · 23/10/2020 11:29

Every morning I start off with a normal belly, and then it grows by lunchtime!!! 🙄

I’ve been waking up super bloated, and it just doesn’t go away! I used to be able to suck my belly in flat but now it just won’t budge.

Also, is anyone else lactose intolerant? I’ve been having cravings for all things dairy and slightly concerned how it’s going to affect me later..! I’m currently guzzling down chocolate milk and eating chunks of cheese, both of which I would never usually eat!

Report
MrsK21 · 23/10/2020 12:29

@swiftt I'm lactose intolerant too but have things from the "Lacto Free" brand. They're really good and near enough like normal dairy versions of things. Not had any cravings for dairy but trying to make sure I get enough calcium is hard

I can definitely relate to the nausea lottery - suffering with hyperemesis and some days are unbearable at present. I've had a couple of A&E visits for fluids already. I mentioned it to the midwife at the booking in appointment and now have extra appointments with a consultant too, I think my plans for a midwife led birth might be out of the window...

@bez91”like a Saint Bernard” Grin that made me laugh. I’m so grateful to be working from home at the moment as I’m really nauseous now (just over 8 weeks)

Report
swiftt · 23/10/2020 13:20

@MrsK21 ooh, I’ve tried some lactofree stuff so I’ll need to try some of their cheese I think! I can already feel my tummy doing somersaults after the cheese and chocolate milk. Blush

So I have an early scan on Tuesday, with baby daddy accompanying me. I’m so so so nervous that there will be something wrong. I’m off work now on annual leave and I’m thiiiis close to just booking one tonight and going alone! I just feel like if it’s bad news, I’ll cope better alone. I’ve spent all morning googling missed miscarriages (I’ve had one before) and ectopic pregnancies, and I can’t stand not knowing what’s going on inside my body. Tuesday isn’t far away now, so am I being mad for wanting to go tonight?!

Bbdm1984 · 23/10/2020 13:41

@swiftt i get what you mean i am absolutely paranoid and only 6/7 weeks. Every little pain or pull i get i think this is the end. I dont have any private scanning places near me the closest is an hour an half away which is keeping me grounded a little. You need to do what is right for you if you need the reassurance then book it, all the stress and worry is not worth it, would you be more reassured after a scan though or would you be counting down till you can next have another?

PumpkinEverything · 23/10/2020 13:42

@swiftt I’m vegetarian but try to avoid a lot of dairy as it doesn’t agree with me, but I do eat ‘normal’ cheese as I have convinced myself it doesn’t affect me 😂 the lacto free range of milk is really good, and also the alpro soya chocolate milk!

5+2 today and I finally told my best friend and wow, it feels like a bit of weight has been lifted having told someone else. I’m going to tell one other friend and then think I’ll hold off until 12 weeks if possible.
I called the GP yesterday and the receptionist booked me in for my booking appointment without needing to speak to my doctor. I’m booked in for around 7+5, does that sound okay? I’m worried she’s booked me in too early as she didn’t seem to understand that I’d only found out I was pregnant, and mentioned something about me being 17 weeks?! And sorry I had to wait so long on the appointment. It’s made me a bit worried 😬

Report
swiftt · 23/10/2020 13:45

@Bbdm1984 the only one ‘near’ me that has appointments tonight is almost 2 hours away! I just feel like I can’t focus on anything else at the moment, and I do think it would put my mind at ease. But I should really just wait til Tuesday, it’s all booked already and I think I’d feel guilty going alone without telling him. It’s just so hard. I need to try and keep busy but I’m so tired

Report
Catladyy · 23/10/2020 14:56

@swiftt know exactly how you feel, it seems so so cruel to have to wait 12 weeks to actually find out if things are ok. But to be honest the stress of a two hour drive there and back might contribute to also not making you feel much better. Can you try and watch film or something (reruns of Friends on Netflix often works for me) to distract yourself? I've also found that seeing friends who don't know (which is all of them) can sometimes help because it forces me to focus on something else. Sounds like there's no reason for you to worry though, statistically things are almost certainly fine! It's so hard though.

@Bbdm1984 that's exactly how I feel - I think I've lost it about 5 times a day on average! So hard not to keep worrying but at least that also sounds pretty normal...

@PumpkinEverything Haha, how did she hear 17 weeks?! I would just take what you can get in the way of appointments tbh, it's not your fault if she got the wrong end of the stick! Anyway they say scans are normally 8 -14 weeks so you're only a couple of days on the early side.

Report
swiftt · 23/10/2020 15:03

@Catladyy you’re right! I feel like I’m fine with the waiting when I’m at work and busy, but this is day 1 of my annual leave and I’m totally preoccupied with Google now. I’m going to chill and wait til Tuesday, and remind myself that what will happen will happen and stressing myself out and google things isn’t going to make a difference. I’m on a bit of a cleaning spree now, then I’m going to watch a film curled up on the sofa and order a takeaway tonight! It’s going to be a long few days haha.

Catladyy · 23/10/2020 15:07

@swiftt good luck - try to enjoy the break and spoil yourself as much as poss! x

I just need a bit of a rant, I’m only 6 weeks so still early days. But I’ve had nausea from 4 weeks, it’s now all day every day 😣

I know so many women have it a lot worse and I keep reminding myself that I’m really one of the lucky ones and I’m so lucky to even be pregnant, but omg it’s so difficult feeling sick constantly. And nothing relieves it!

Not to mention all the millions of other symptoms I seem to have at the minute.

Now I think about it maybe being hormonal isn’t helping either 😂 my poor oh is going to need a medal after putting up with my moaning for the next 8 months 😂

Rant....

I'm jealous of all the women who have hardly any symptoms.

I'm feeling bed bound intense hip and leg cramps no appetite/ constipation and lack of sleep I feel like a bag of shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

😢

Calm complain happy I'm cooking a 👶🏻 but still I wish it was a little easier on me.

@MrsM21 I was like that with my second, it was awful, all day I was fine when I slept, then as soon as I opened my eyes ugh.
I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself today tbh too, and I have managed to tidy downstairs and walk the dogs, in between. But the nausea is overwhelming at times.
