@BeeMakesTea thank you again 😊

BeeMakesTea · 07/11/2020 22:51

@Manth84 no worries 🙂 I have just seen there’s actually a thread on here about what you need to get for first baby so that might also be useful to check out.

Littlebee1990 · 08/11/2020 04:35

Is there a day May Facebook group please ladies? X

Littlebee1990 · 08/11/2020 04:35

RustyCat · 08/11/2020 10:46

@littlebee1990 I was thinking the same thing 😊 I think there is but I'm not sure!

Gingergeek89 · 08/11/2020 11:34

There is a FB group. Sorry for being MIA currently bed ridden with Covid.

I’m not an admin but I can still invite people and one of the admins can approve. If anyone that wants to join send me a PM and I’ll send you my FB profile link. Once you add me as a friend I can invite you to the group and then just unfriend once you are in so no one can see x

Hi 👋 Ladies,

First time posting on here. Been reading some of your loverly posts Hope it’s ok joining in would love to join the fab group too.
I think I am due in towards the end of May. My first pregnancy.
Having a scan and blood tests next week so will find out for sure soon. It is so long waiting fingers crossed everything is ok. Very nervous especially as partners aren’t allowed.

Congratulations on your pregnancies X

BeeMakesTea · 08/11/2020 22:52

@Gingergeek89 I’d love to join the Facebook group too but is it private? As in will people be able to see I’ve joined it? As I haven’t told work yet but have some colleagues on Facebook.

Gingergeek89 · 09/11/2020 05:06

@BeeMakesTea yes the group is private so it’s not searchable and no one can see that you are in it. Just send me a PM when you are ready to join and I’ll sort out adding you

BeeMakesTea · 09/11/2020 10:53

@NRDoss yep no worries- I’ll just post it here seeing as a few people have asked now. You may not need all of this and some will depend on what you decide works best for you eg. bedside crib, breastfeeding etc, but this is what I bought last time. It seems like a lot but I just focused on pram, car seat and crib first and then picked up everything else as I went along.

Rear facing car seat
Car seat isofix base
Mirror for car seat
Pram/pushchair
Bedside crib & mattress
Crib sheets
Cotbed & mattress
Cot sheets
Sleeping bag/ swaddle bag
Changing table with drawers
Changing mat
Nappy bin
Changing bag
Muslins
Bottles & teats?
Microwave steriliser?
Breast pump?
Feeding cushion
Baby bath
Bath thermometer
Room thermometer (gro egg)
Baby carrier/ sling
Baby bouncer
Baby monitor
Baby thermometer (ear one)
Pushchair parasol
Mat/ rug/ blanket for tummy time
Nappies, water wipes, sudocrem, cotton wool

Baby Clothes:
vests
sleepsuits
socks
scratch mittens
Cardigan
Jacket?
Hat
Blankets (one for pram)
Bibs

For my hospital bag:
Maternity pads
Breast pads
Nursing bras, sleep bras
Lansinoh nipple cream
Nighties- breastfeeding ones
Comfy breastfeeding clothes

Gingergeek89 · 09/11/2020 10:57

@BeeMakesTea I meant to ask, you know the whole pram, car seat situation. Did you not bother with one of those travel systems I keep seeing? Where it's a pram, carry cot and car seat? Are they not worth it? It's all a bit confusing 🙈

BeeMakesTea · 09/11/2020 13:59

@Manth84 yes we did get a travel system, I just hadn’t decided that when I made the list so had put them separately. So it included carry cot, pushchair and car seat, although not the isofix base for the car seat which we had to get separately. I liked it because you can put the car seat straight into the pushchair base so it was useful for short trips or if baby falls asleep in the car (although you have to be mindful of how long a newborn can spend in a car seat). I’m sure there are pros and cons to both options though. For example my son grew out of the car seat around 9-10 months old so we then got a group0-1 car seat, so you could just get that to start with which lasts from birth until they’re 4, if you’re not fussed about carrying baby in the car seat or attaching it to the pram. Obviously I can only speak to my experience, others may have different views!

XennialMama · 09/11/2020 15:19

Hey ladies, How is everyone doing? I am 12+5 and my nausea has really started to taper off this week - anyone else that's been suffering a lot of nausea and vomiting feeling the same/better? Had the nuchal translucency scan last week and also got our Harmony results back as normal.Smile

ScottishLassie91 · 09/11/2020 22:54

I love the fb group! Would definitely recommend joining, I love that it's more personal x

RustyCat · 10/11/2020 15:18

Hospital called me today, they can't find my results from the screening test -sigh- I did explain I had the bloods taken so she's going to chase the lab and try to find them, so still waiting on my screening results.

Manth84 · 11/11/2020 10:57

Hello all! I've just had a letter from bloods with regards to the blood test to had at my booking scan. They have found anti bodies in my blood called Anti K and it's from when I had to have a blood transfusion about 14 years ago. There isn't a lot of info but I have to now carry a card with me for hospital and my midwife rang to say not to worry but she will see if she can find some info. I'm presuming it's not that common but I just wondered if anyone had experience of this from previous pregnancies? God it's never plain sailing for me 🙈
