@Waitingforbabypage Congrats on your scan :) good to see those little legs and hands waving about right?

@RustyCat That's a lovely surprise..! Congrats :) and so lovely to see those photos

Waitingforbabypage · 04/11/2020 18:50
@Littlebee1990 thank you! I have 7 in total she kept printing them 🤣. How exciting! I don't think ill make it to my due date. I reckon they'll come earlier.

@Waitingforbabypage thank you!! I'm so happy! Ooh see that's what I'm hoping for! They aren't identical, they have their own placentas and own membranes (bubbles basically)
Haha in their own little bubbles! Very fitting for this year don't you think?! 😂

Waitingforbabypage · 04/11/2020 18:52

@NRDoss it was very reassuring to see the little one bobbling about in there! Can't wait to see him/her again soon! X

choccychar · 04/11/2020 22:25

@RustyCat You'll have to share how he took the news. Bet you were about to explode with the news as he walked through the door!

Beepbeep42 · 04/11/2020 23:20

Yay, Congratulations guys! And twins too, wow!

Scan went well, measuring 13+2 :-) confirmed this past week I have been feeling wee nudges from baby, it is very early but probably due to being a secondary pregnancy/ babys position. Husband had a wee cry, bless him Grin

Such a relief to be able to tell friends and family! Have told my son he's going to be a big brother before he hears it from anyone else.

MayBAE21 · 05/11/2020 01:36

@rustycat OMG!! That's amazing news!!! Two for the price of one!! How exciting!! Congratulations!! 👶🏻👶🏻

Everyone else - so lovely to hear all your scans are going well. Feels so real now that we're telling people.

We've started shopping for our little man now and my mum and grandmother are busy with the knitting needles. Who'd of thought one tiny little baby could bring so much happiness and joy.

RustyCat · 05/11/2020 10:04

He took it well... As soon as I said it's twins he rung his mum 🤣 was in complete shock haha. Hes in panic mode about the flat, my car etc. It's quite amusing.

UnicornAndSparkles · 05/11/2020 16:42

Hi ladies,

Im jumping off as I'm now booked in for a c section at 39 weeks, which brings me to a "due" date of 20th April. Feel a bit of a fraud being in the May group now!

Good luck to everyone and wishing you happy and healthy pregnancies ❤

TashP92 · 05/11/2020 20:17

Hi 👋👋

Due may 2nd here with our final baby!

RustyCat · 05/11/2020 20:59

@UnicornAndSparkles aww goodbye!! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!!

MayBAE21 · 06/11/2020 04:36

@unicornandsparkles - we'll miss you. I'm due May 2nd but chances are I'll have a C-Second in late April. What group have you joined?

UnicornAndSparkles · 06/11/2020 06:03

@MayBAE21 there's an April group but I seem to have fallen off it, have a search and you'll find us Smile

Manth84 · 06/11/2020 09:41

Wow Twins! Congrats!!
@MayBAE21 out of curiosity, what have you started buying? If I'm honest I've gone into panic mode thinking I really don't know what I'm doing or what to even consider buying at first? Is anyone else having panic moments like this? Does anyone have any advice to help me dip my toe in. I'm such an over thinker that I would probably look at a set of bibs and convince myself I'm buying the wrong ones and come away with nothing. Help!

My symptoms have gone through the roof. Exhausted (might still be aftermath of covid) and nausea! I'm so glad we have had to shut shop for lockdown 2.0 because the thought of working now... 🥴

MayBAE21 · 06/11/2020 10:18

@mantha84 I'm a planner. I started with a huge list of everything I could think of and then broke it down into categories: Sleeping / Eating / Changing / Out & About / Clothes / Entertainment / Me.Postpartum.

Things I've got so far:
the big one - my buggy. I've had to order it as it wasn't in stock and with Covid, shipping is slow!
Collecting Muslins (I was told we'll need about 20. So far I have 8)
Maternity pillow that I can repurpose into a feeding support pillow.

M&S
Pack of 7 short sleeve onesies (Newborn)
Pack of 4 dibble bibs
Pack of 4 pairs of socks
Pack of 1 hat and 1 booties

Off FB market place I've nabbed 2 x BNWT newborn sleepers and some 3m-6m clothes. Also a used GroEgg. It's first generation but still works fine.

I'm waiting for the Boxing Day sales to do a lot of the shopping. You just never know what is going to come up cheap. In the mean time I'm keeping an eye on FB market place for bargains.

I really recommend speaking to friends who've had babies and getting their recommendations. My friend sent me through a long list which was a great starting point for us and then I tweaked it to suit our home / needs. Also check out YouTube for newborn and baby must haves.

RustyCat · 06/11/2020 11:15

I probably should start that soon 🤣. I just got my next scan cone through the post, 31st December!

Good start to the new year if you ask me!

BeeMakesTea · 06/11/2020 13:59

@Manth84 this is my second baby so shouldn’t have to buy too much, but with my first I focused on the big, ‘can’t do without’ items first- pushchair/ travel system/ car seat, bedside crib. We also got a cotbed but didn’t need that straight away as used a bedside crib. A lot of smaller stuff like nappies and bibs I just picked up as and when I went shopping. I did one big shopping trip with my sister and mum to buy lots of clothes, bedding, stuff for hospital bag and other little bits and bobs with their help. I second asking someone who has recently had a baby for a list- I was constantly asking my sister! I probably still have mine if you’d like me to share it, but don’t want to overwhelm you! There’s plenty of time, I didn’t buy anything until after 20 weeks.

Manth84 · 06/11/2020 16:18

@MayBAE21 Thanks for that info! And I hadn't thought of youtube thank you! And @BeeMakesTea yes please, that would be great if you could send a list over.
I'm probably even more anxious because of the current covid situation and not really wanting to go shopping.

PatchworkWellies · 06/11/2020 18:21

Just catching up on here, congrats to all who have had scans recently and wow to @rustycat with your twin surprise!!

Wanted to ask if anyone else is having trouble getting a flu jab? I initially asked for one late September and was told that they hadn't started doing pregnant women yet in this area and it would be early Oct, they would call me to arrange. I've heard nothing since, phoned them twice and both times they've said they don't have the vaccines yet and will be in touch when they do. I've been pregnant this time of year 2 times before and never had this trouble. I'm in South East and I understand others are having trouble getting flu Jabs. Tried to buy one somewhere but can't do that either as no stocks.

BeeMakesTea · 06/11/2020 18:37

@Manth84 I’ve sent you a pm with my list, but happy to share on here if it’s helpful for others too.

CMAYF11 · 06/11/2020 19:05

@PatchworkWellies I had mine done at my 12 week scan. How far along are you?

CMAYF11 · 06/11/2020 19:13

@BeeMakesTea Would you be able to send it to me to please?

PatchworkWellies · 06/11/2020 20:03

@CMAYF11, I'm 14+2 today. Usually done through doctor's surgery here any time from September when you're expecting.

RustyCat · 06/11/2020 21:25

@PatchworkWellies thank you 😁. I am also having difficulty getting my flu jab, tries a few local pharmacies a out of stock and same with my doctor's. I'm in the south east also so possibly a local thing!

BeeMakesTea · 07/11/2020 11:47

@CMAYF11 yep no problem, I’ve sent you a pm.
