@AnnaPosie good luck with your scan tomorrow, I hope it goes really well. I can understand your nerves my first scan is on Saturday. My nausea today has not been good. At night I sniff peppermint oil drops on a tissue. Today I’ve been extra bilious and haven’t been able to face much food other than ice cream! So no great tips of advice from me. Hand hold for tomorrow.

LittleTiger007 · 26/10/2020 20:44

@XennialMama I’m so sorry about your bleeds, I’m glad your scan went well. I’m also a high risk pregnancy and have been on bed rest all week since a slight bleed last Wednesday. Nothing since and I don’t know what’s causing it, maybe my scan will show. It is stressful. Keep strong.

XennialMama · 26/10/2020 20:58

@PrincessPunzie thanks for letting me know. I'm the same age as you I believe, reading the thread, but this is my first viable pregnancy (late starter) and I sadly suffered a biochemical pregnancy (early MC) earlier this year. I bled a lot too with even an early loss at 4.5 weeks. Can I ask why you were sent for CVS so early? I was advised to have the Harmony test and am waiting for the results to come back next week.

@LittleTiger007 hope you get well soon. I've had pretty severe nausea morning till night but it kind of dropped off in the last few days. I was wondering whether sometimes the bleeding has to do with the placenta taking over at 10 weeks? My scan didn't shown anything re: the bleeding so I have no idea still.

PrincessPunzie · 27/10/2020 01:57

@XennialMama 11 weeks is standard for a CVS (although as it turned out I was actually 12 weeks). Perhaps you’re thinking of an amnio? The reason I’ve opted for it in my last two pregnancies is that the baby we lost had a chromosomal condition that NIPT/Harmony can’t accurately test for (it’s only really accurate for the main three). Generally you’re advised against a CVS unless there’s a pressing reason for it, since there’s a (low) miscarriage risk and NIPT is fairly accurate for the same three conditions that are tested for with standard NHS screening. Good luck with your results x

LittleTiger007 · 27/10/2020 07:42

I’m a high risk too as I’m in my 40s. This is my first viable pregnancy after a miscarriage earlier in the year and we have decided not to have any tests. What will be will be.

PrincessPunzie · 27/10/2020 09:08

Who do I message to access the Facebook group please ladies? I’d love to join as I’m much better with the format on there. I thought I’d messaged the right person but I haven’t heard back so I’m starting to wonder Blush

Gingergeek89 · 27/10/2020 11:00

@PrincessPunzie if you private message me I’ll send you a link to my profile. Then if you add me as a friend, I can invite you to the group and one of the admins should be able to let you in. Afterwards I can defriend so the whole thing is invisible to anyone else Smile

ScottishStardust · 27/10/2020 11:33

Morning everyone! We had our scan this morning and everything went well! Measuring exactly as expected so no change to due date! Smile Baby was being a pest and had their back to us most of the time!

I know there are a few of us with scans today so hope they all go well.

LittleTiger007 · 27/10/2020 11:44

Congratulations on the good scan @ScottishStardust!

RustyCat · 27/10/2020 12:01

@ScottishStardust oh how exciting! Congratulations! I bet it was amazing seeing bubba even though baby was being difficult!

ScottishStardust · 27/10/2020 12:04

I was totally fascinated by the screen! They jumped around which was amazing to see (especially when you can't feel anything) and we got a wee wave as well! 🥰

LittleTiger007 · 27/10/2020 12:17

@ScottishStardust 🥰🥰🥰. How wonderful!! Praying we get the same on Saturday 🙏

AnnaPosie · 27/10/2020 14:10

Hey girlies so I'm actually 7 weeks not 10, I knew there was a chance my dates were off as I wasn't watching my ovulation and I had negative tests when I thought my period was due so it makes more sense. She said this has happened a lot of women recently with all the changes to our routines etc and not to worry, she said all looked as it should for 7 weeks and strong heartbeat so she was happy. I'm meeting my doctor tomorrow for bloods and flu jab. This means now my expected date is June not May so it's time for me to move threads but wishing you all the best and I'll be following your journeys ☺️☺️

NRDoss · 27/10/2020 14:57

@leftitlate37, so sorry to hear about your loss. So glad your partner could come with you. Hope you get the time you need to recover. Much love and wishing you all the best xxx

@selti, how are you getting on? Are you in the Facebook group? xxx

Congratulations to all of those who've had their scans.

MayBAE21 · 28/10/2020 04:36

I have my 13week scan today. I'm nervous but excited to see my little man again and how much he's grown.

How is everyone getting on with sharing the news with friends and family? My husband and I will be sharing the news with his mum, my grandmother and then our extended family this weekend. I've ordered my brother a present that says Uncle xxxx Est. 2021. Can't wait to see his face! Grin

@gingergeek89 I'm going to drop you a PM over the weekend so I can be added to the FB group.

Gingergeek89 · 28/10/2020 06:40

@MayBAE21 hope the scan goes well. No problem at all, send me a PM whenever you are ready 😊

@MayBAE21 hope your scan goes really well and you get a lovely clear view of your little sweetheart.
Your gift idea sounds lovely!
I had to tell my manager due to the nature of my work, they were wanting me up ladders and lifting and although it was early days, I wasn't feeling great (still not) and didn't trust my balance up a ladder haha! So now obviously all my work mates know- I'm ok with that, we're like family.
My mum knows and my partners parents know. I am not looking forward to telling my dad- even at 35 I'm a crushing disappointment to him and he probably won't be happy. Ah well!

RustyCat · 28/10/2020 08:44

@MayBAE21 ooh exciting! Hope baby plays balls and you get a good view of baby!

MayBAE21 · 28/10/2020 15:34

Scan went well and everything is as it should be but little man didn't want to play ball. Upside down on screen and then when we switched to 4D the little bugger turned his back to us. So we have a beautiful picture of the back of his head. Tried prodding and poking to get him to move but all he did was show us his ass. Lovely! Husband thought it was hilarious "That's my boy!" LOL

Measuring slightly ahead but I'm still due in May... just! Now the fun part really starts - sharing the good news with family and friends. Eeek!! So excited!!

Smile03 · 28/10/2020 16:05

Hello,

I have my first scan on Tuesday but my pregnancy symptoms have almost disappeared over the last 2-3 days which i’m finding a but scary even though I would have prayed the sickness and nausea stop a few weeks ago.
Is anyone else going through anything similar?
According to my lmp i am 11 weeks and 5 days

XennialMama · 28/10/2020 17:39

Congrats everyone on your scans and thanks for your messages. I got the all clear from the EPU and baby is measuring ahead. They are perplexed about the bleed and can't identify a source, so will need to wait and speak to the Consultant next week.

@Smile03 my morning sickness has been pretty intense but I have had three 2-3 day breaks, one at 5 weeks, one at 7, and one at 10 with symptom reduction. I think many posters on here will agree the symptoms can vary wildly and are not consistent.

NRDoss · 28/10/2020 18:02

@MayBAE21haha! how exciting :) Congrats on your scan..

@Smile03 symptoms will start to reduce after the peak in HcG.. I had terrible nausea and loss of appetite a couple of weeks back.. but now nothing 12 weeks exactly today (a bit of nausea in the morning while brushing, and just a slight pain in boobs) It is perfectly normal to have some fluctuations in your symptoms.

@XennialMama Good to hear about your news from EPU :) how ahead are you now?
