@leftitlate37 haha, my last username was too recognisable, didn't want someone I know stumbling across it just now 😂
Oh how exciting! I'm the same, so excited and so nervous, counting down the days til this 8week scan and just praying itll all be okay x
I've only told a few people and they keep saying its twins Haha!! X

Sansa87 · 23/09/2020 19:07

Ooh new thread.

I still haven’t booked our private scan. It almost makes it scarier once you’ve seen the heartbeat, as you know what you’ve lost, & it will be the first scan oh has seen, as we didn’t get to book the private scan in July before we lost that baby.

leftitlate37 · 23/09/2020 20:28

haha @ScottishLassie91 dont blame u! know what u mean ! How long til the 8 week scan, sorry lost track of where u were, think only a few days behind me tho! ooo twins eh ;) what would u think to that?! just got my booking appt sent thru, hope i get that far. Just looked at the birth centre video - it looks soooo nice, defo a nice environment when every other aspect just seems terrifying!
Hi @hc96 congrats on your happy accident!! you sound as far along as me, same as u im so worried something will go wrong. today has been really busy work wise and so helped to take my mind off things. hope the nausea doesnt get too bad.
@Sansa87 must be really hard, whilst i feel like im a bit blissfully ignorant hoping that all is ok, but really having no idea - i think i would find it hard too to see a heartbeat and then wait for next scan. but ppl been saying that once youve seen it, the chances are really good for next time, so u gotta stay positive. do u think u will book it, or holding off?
hope everyone else is feeling ok!

Sansa87 · 23/09/2020 20:44

I think I’ll end up book it for this weekend or next weekend @leftitlate37 I don’t trust oh being allowed in 12 weeks scan by the time we get there, so I do want him to see it.

I am wondering when it’s all going to seem real 😂

leftitlate37 · 23/09/2020 20:50

I think never!? Not the same scale I know but I love my dogs to bits...and I look at them sometimes and am like how have we got u?! I cant believe they live with us....think I'll be about the same as and when hopefully get a baby home! But much more clueless ;)
Yeah do u think hospitals will change policies again:( be really sad. Hope u get one booked then this weekend!

Ridley2018 · 23/09/2020 20:52

Hi guys. Just had an early scan today due to fertility issues and I’m 7 + 2 so due mid-May! It’s my first pregnancy so super excited but super nervous! New to mumsnet too so not sure about some of the acronyms 😂😂

RiverRoo · 24/09/2020 03:29

@Littlebee1990 I've been following your story as I remember you from a previous conception thread. It sounds crazy to me that the sonographer said the HB was too low - it would have literally just started beating!! Surely any HB at 5.5 weeks is positive?

@henni85 thank you for the message! I've also had a few losses this year so it sounds like we are in the same boat. My next scan won't be for another week or so. It's definitely an anxious wait but it does help to know that it's very common to not see the fetal pole until late in the 5th week or early in the 6th week.

ScottishLassie91 · 24/09/2020 06:44

@leftitlate37 18 days and counting lol!
I'm 5+2 today, how far along are you now? We must be quite close together 😊
Twins tun in the family, it wouldn't bother me tbh, get it done with one pregnancy lol! As long as they dont say triplets, think I would die off 😂
Oh exciting! Have you got long too wait for the appointment?
I'm terrified of the thought of labour, just keep telling myself itll be no worse than af cramps ....

MagpieSong · 24/09/2020 06:50

@Littlebee1990, really hope everything goes well. Thinking of you.

@leftitlate37, you might not be clueless at all! I found DS’s cues easy to read and clear, quickly got into changing nappies etc. Also, totally empathise re the dogs and feeling lucky! We have two big fluffy ragdoll cats and everyone said they’re won’t seem as important when baby arrives first time round. They are just as important, and still also my babies. Grin I found them a lifeline during tricky days as DS was ill (chronic kidney issues) and cried non-stop sometimes. It was nice to have a furry cuddle and purr sometimes when I felt a bit isolated and bleugh through his illness. We’re looking at getting a dog, but first fell through (Bereaved at time and didn’t check emails, breeder didn’t phone so missed the litter announcement by a couple of days, just one of those things) and we need to put extra in place with Covid if we get a pup now (socialising etc).

@Ridley2018, congratulations! Don’t worry, you’ll get used to the acronyms in no time.

Littlebee1990 · 24/09/2020 07:07

Thanks everyone!

@RiverRoo That’s what worried me the most, I’m 6 weeks since ovulation today so Tuesday I would’ve been 5+5 at the latest and I didn’t even expect a heartbeat, I wish they hadn’t mentioned it or seen one because I’m so worried now!! I’m trying to convince myself it had only just started and that’s why it was slow x

Pinkiii · 24/09/2020 08:14

@Littlebee1990 the fact that there is a heartbeat so early on is a positive sign so try not to over stress, anything that happens is out of your control but stressing and worrying won’t help.

leftitlate37 · 24/09/2020 09:04

WElcome and congrats @Ridley2018! v exciting news!
@MagpieSong ah thanks that makes me feel better! glad 2 hear your cats were such a lifeline! the dogs will always be the first borns haha. my mum was like oh theyll have their noses put out of joint, i was like dont say that! i already feel guilty! good luck on your hunt for a dog to join the family :)
@ScottishLassie91 appt is week after next so feels ages! i think im 6+3 according to dates of LMP. oh wow twins in the family eh haha, u can handle it...altho like u say, triplets argh! was talking to hubby about prospect of labour last nigh, just cant imagine, terrifies me tbh. partly why put having kids off for so long :s
hows everyone doing today?

RustyCat · 24/09/2020 09:22

Doing well today! Another day closer to my scan 🤣 but it's still aaaages away! I want to book a private scan but I'm petrified of getting bad news as I have previously lost a pregnancy this year.

How are you? @leftitlate37

leftitlate37 · 24/09/2020 09:30

Ah that's great to hear @RustyCat!! Remind me when your scan is? So sorry to hear about your loss earlier this year. It may make it so much more stressful for u but gotta stay positive. Do u think you'll just bite the bullet and get a private one?! Less time to wait then!!

SurpriseNo2 · 24/09/2020 10:04

Hey ladies sorry I’ve awol since last week. Only just found you all again! Haha! So I had an epu appointment arranged by my doc as my gyne asked for a referal from my spotting I had early on. So last Friday I popped to the epu. They dated me 5+4 but no heartbeat yet. But all looked “normal”. So tomorrow is the day I get to go back and see. I’m praying so hard there is a heartbeat. I also take back my comments of not having symptoms. I now feel the nausea and insomnia. However my boobs still feel totally normal. Wondering if it’s because I’m only 11.5 months postpartum? Who knows. Really struggling today, wfh sucks when you need to be kept occupied. I’m so worried about the heartbeat tomorrow eek! By my calculations il be 6+5 tomorrow x
Also @ScottishLassie91 I too worry about weight gain and what I’m eating. I just lost my 3 stone of baby weight this year and now all I’ve eaten is beige food and takeaways. Too scared to go near the scales! The healthiest thing I’ve had in weeks was a salad yesterday! lol
I’m starting results with bump as soon as I get some energy back. Can’t wait to have my normal taste buds back! X

RiverRoo · 24/09/2020 10:41

@SurpriseNo2 our stories are similar! All looked normal at my 5 + 4 scan just a little early to see a fetal pole. I'm heading back in on Wednesday next week when I should 6 + 4 to hopefully see the heart beat. Good luck tomorrow! Let us know how you go x

SurpriseNo2 · 24/09/2020 11:13

Thanks @RiverRoo it’s so hard isn’t it. It was just like a blob! But a blob is better than no blob. I’m glad I have some symptoms now though as much as I just want to be in bed!
I bet Wednesday feels like a lifetime away. Keep busy xx

Gingergeek89 · 24/09/2020 11:43

@SurpriseNo2 good luck with the scan.

At first 5-6 weeks I was eating everything I could see but have since lost all the weight I gained due to very bad morning sickness (currently just shy of 9 weeks). Have found chilled lucozade sport a lifesaver, which I tried following a recommendation from the midwife. Have also been prescribed a 10 day course of cyclizine so hopefully that will help. Has anyone tried the acupuncture point pressure wristbands and if so did you find them helpful?

LittleTiger007 · 24/09/2020 11:51

Hi all, sorry I went awol for a few days. Sorry to hear of your concerns @Littlebee1990, hopefully you will have them reassured soon.
I can’t wait for a scan... I’m goi g to have to tho as I’m only 5+3, hopefully get one in a couple of weeks.
Whenever I saw people getting scans on tv/YouTube and crying I thought it was the joy of seeing their little baby for the first time... and of course it is. But now I realise it’s so much more ... it’s also going to be the relief that they are alive! Like many others here I had a loss earlier in the year. Praying for a sticky one.

How are people’s symptoms? For the first time Ive had food aversions this week. I almost barfed feeding my dogs and when I made pasta and salmon a couple of days ago I just couldn’t eat it. The salmon was especially for me too as it’s good for the baby’s growing brain. It turned my stomach which is very very odd.

LittleTiger007 · 24/09/2020 11:53

Sorry you’re so sick @Gingergeek89 I’ve def been feeling nausea but nit too bad yet.

ScottishLassie91 · 24/09/2020 11:55

@leftitlate37 yeah it just feels like in that TWW again, its all dragging by lol! That's not too bad then, I'm hoping once I get passed the 6weeks I'll feel a bit better x
Twins would be fab cos then its only one labour and all that, and same as you, the thought of labour absolutely terrifies me, but think I may die off with triplets! As long as what's growing inside is happy and healthy I'll be ecstatic Smile

@SurpriseNo2 its so hard isnt it. I've been desperate for jam donuts, like obsessing over eating jam the past few days. That'll do me wonders I'm sure! I've joined slimming world so hoping that will help me keep to a healthy weight gain! x

Anyone else have any instincts yet on what they might be having? X

UnicornAndSparkles · 24/09/2020 13:04

I've tried the travel sickness bands @Gingergeek89, and I've just been prescribed some anti sickness meds. Not sure the bands work but a friend swore by them. The meds seem to be helping though. Never felt so rough before them! Really suprised as I didn't feel half as bad during my first pregnancy.

UnicornAndSparkles · 24/09/2020 13:05

@ScottishLassie91 I'm wondering if I'm having a boy as my symptoms are SO different to when I had my LG 3y ago. But who knows! I'll probably have sexing scan at 16 weeks to find out, unless the rules here change and DH can come to the 20 week scan.

imisscoffee · 24/09/2020 13:10

Is anyone absolutely wiped out with tiredness? I feel hungover most days and ready for bed by 7. Can't remember feeling like this with my other two this early on, although I didn't have children to run about after then and my job wasn't as busy. I'm off today and went back to bed after the school run and have just "napped" for 4 hours straight. Wish my booking in appt was sooner, I'm wondering if my iron levels are low.

Pinkiii · 24/09/2020 13:24

@imisscoffee I’m the same, absolutely exhausted and by the time my dd is in bed at 7 so am I.

is everyone else really sensitive to smells? Everything in my house is overpowering, have an apple smelly thing in my dishwasher and nearly made me gag when I opened up the dishwasher.

Also I had this with my first pregnancy but this time it’s even earlier I can’t stand the smell of my husband Confused
