Yes I agree! It's pretty amazing to be having twins! Very happy for you @RustyCat!
Good luck for all your appointments ladies, surely they will be all perfect!
And happy Christmas! Hopefully not fully ruined by restrictions

RustyCat · 24/12/2020 15:42

Thank you @serz88 and @catisa 😁 over the shock now but have so far has to tell everyone at each appointment that they are not IVF and were naturally conceived somehow 🤣. That seems to be their first question!

Serz88 · 28/12/2020 00:44

Hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas and hasn't missed those Christmas spirits too much :P
Officially 20 weeks and half way now :D ordering our pram on Wednesday and I'm so excited!!

mouldygrapes · 28/12/2020 21:20

Congrats @Serz88, what pram are you getting?
I’m 20 weeks on Friday and our scan is next Monday. Getting nervous about going to the hospital, our local is badly hit with COVID. The maternity unit is separate so hopefully can park outside and go straight in for minimum amount of time. Think it’s just scan this time and no other appt so hope it’s quick. I’ll call next Monday to see what the situation is with partners

Serz88 · 28/12/2020 21:30

Same I'm in Havering and both my local hospitals are bad but luckily maternity is seperate.
I called my midwife to check as we are in tier 4 and she said there is no change my fiance can still come with me luckily.
We are getting the Bebecar V Pack in Black and Rose gold. Its beautiful and pushes like a dream. It's the one thing I'm so excited to get. Feel like a kid at Christmas 😁

Hi Everyone. Im due the 21st May and ive just felt a little lost lately and wondered if anyone felt similar. Its mine and my husbands first and was planned. But since ive been pregnant ive not felt a lot of emotion towards the bump. I thought i would be beeming and feel so much love towards the bump but i havent and still dont. I thought after my 19 - 20 week scan i would but i still dont feel a connection. Does anyone else feel like this? Is it due to circumstances (ive been working from home since March and shielding due to my husbands heart condition) or is it normal to just feel a bit distant until the babies born?

Catisa · 30/12/2020 14:28

Great to hear about all the baby shopping! I am trying to refrain myself from buying all the stuff! XD I've got some presents for the baby over Xmas and now I feel like I want to buy everything! It's amazing how people can pass you so much excitement!
@ShortyIB I think is difficult to really feel love when your baby is sort of imaginary, you don't know how is going to look or how it is going to feel when you hold him or her. My friends who had babies said that even when is born it might be difficult to bond and is only after 3-4 months that you realise you love them. They've said at the beginning is like the baby belongs to someone else, you can't really believe is yours. I think any feelings are valid, there are people that from the first moment feel an immense love and for other people take longer. I wouldn't worry or overthink it. It will come. I think is also the fact that you cannot see your family or friends, is difficult to feel their enthusiasm over the phone. Hold on there!

RustyCat · 31/12/2020 10:23

Got my 20week scan today, so excited but also nervous! Can't wait to see the twins again, hopefully all is okay, thankfully DH can actually come to this one with me which is nice.

Catisa · 31/12/2020 11:03

Good luck!! Let us know how it goes!

RustyCat · 31/12/2020 15:26

All good for both babies! Confirmed again one girl and one boy 😊.

Catisa · 02/01/2021 16:38

Fantastic @RustyCat! Very happy for you!!

mouldygrapes · 03/01/2021 15:13

Lovely news @RustyCat!

Scan is on Tuesday, suddenly really nervous. Also really don’t want to go to the hospital which is over 50% covid patients, altho maternity is in a separate building

Catisa · 03/01/2021 16:09

Don't worry @mouldygrapes, surely they are extremely careful at the hospital and as you said the maternity is separated so the risk is much lower. It's normal to be nervous but I am sure everything is going to be fine. Good luck!

lucymagoo · 03/01/2021 16:55

Is anyone else struggling with baby names? Since finding out we are having a boy I've been asking my husband what we should call him every day 😂 I think he's sick of me asking. We have a list of names which are nice enough but I don't love any.

ShortyIB · 03/01/2021 18:01

@lucymagoo Yeah i am the same. Found out we were having a boy and really struggling to find a name we love. We had a couple of girls names we liked (before we found out the gender) but always struggled with boys names Hmm Im sure we will eventually settle on one we like or when he arrives we may say 'oh he is definitely a [insert boys name]) Smile

lucymagoo · 03/01/2021 18:27

That's what I'm hoping @ShortyIB, keeping an open mind and just compiling a list so far and hoping by May one has started to stand out or maybe when he's born one will just make sense. I hope anyway!

Serz88 · 04/01/2021 10:37

@lucymagoo we aren't finding out the gender so are thinking of both options. Girls name is pretty decided but we won't 100% confirm until baby is here. But boys names!? Nothing is jumping at us at all. List of some we like but not enough to go yeah if we have a son I'd like to call him that for the rest of his life! It's so hard. I'm hoping if it is a boy once he's here something will jump out at us

Tig2010 · 04/01/2021 13:07

Hi everyone! I’m due mid-May and am 22 weeks today - still not feeling much movement. I feel some gurgles and pings (I guess!) throughout the day, often a few dotted throughout the day, but I don’t think they’re getting stronger or more frequent. I’m pretty sure that’s ok even at 22 weeks but would be lovely to get reassurance:) (it’s my first baby and at my 20 week scan my placenta was low lying - not sure if that’s relevent!).

@lucymagoo also struggling with boy names!

mouldygrapes · 05/01/2021 15:03

Thankfully scan looked OK today and it’s a little girl!
Feels a bit more real now, although still not really quite got my head round it!

Catisa · 05/01/2021 17:11

Ohh congratulations!!

Thamigumathacharaid · 06/01/2021 08:29

Hi everyone. Hope you're all doing well. I had my 20 week scan just before Christmas and we're having a boy. No decisions on first names but he will have my DF's name as his middle name.
I've finally started to feel kicks but they're more like being flicked than actually kicked. I'm still getting used to it but enjoying it. It still doesn't seem very real and I'm not sure when it will.

RustyCat · 06/01/2021 14:08

I just had all of my scan appointments come through for the twins as no one had booked them yet (the sonographer was really unimpressed 🤣) I am literally in there once a month until the twins are born basically. My last scan if I'm still pregnant is the 20th April.

Serz88 · 10/01/2021 16:26

Hey! How is everyone doing??
Feeling lots of regular movement which is lovely, but DP hasn't been able to feel them yet? 22 weeks tomorrow, wondering if anyone else can feel kicks from outside yet, or if they've had a baby already when they were able to?

lucymagoo · 10/01/2021 17:13

@Serz88 I'm 22 weeks tomorrow as well and feeling lots of movement, I have an anterior placenta but my husband has been able to feel the kicks twice now. Not always as most are quite light still Smile
I've been buying a LOT of clothes as this is our first and I'm very excited haha, trying to keep them quite gender neutral as that's the style I prefer but also means they won't go to waste if we have a girl next also.

Serz88 · 10/01/2021 19:03

I have only bought one cute little all in one which I've got to wait till the winter for them to wear anyway, was just so gorgeous I couldn't resist! Apart from that's I haven't really bought much at all! If I knew the gender I would definitely have a whole wardrobe full!
