Just wanted to speak with someone who's just found out their expecting too?

Feeling very anxious due to previously having misscarriages

Currently in the waiting area absolutely bursting for a wee 😂 won't be long now!

mummabubs · 04/12/2020 19:56

So just after I'd gone for my much - needed angry wee they decided they were indeed going to scan me(!) They then decided the reason I was told I needed to be consultant led care was actually an incorrect diagnosis (yay!), but then 10 minutes later they saw my blood work from my 12 week scan shows I'm at higher risk of developing pre eclampsia. Which I'm not as calm about as my grandmother had it and sadly her son was stillborn as a result. My husband is nervous about baby's health as it is, so he's said he doesn't really want to talk about it so I'm trying to keep myself balanced and as calm as I can be by myself. Times like this I miss wine.

mummabubs · 04/12/2020 19:58

@threebecomesfour every midwife I've ever worked with has hated home doppler kits- saying that they either provide mums with unnecessary worry, or reassure mums when it might not be a heartbeat they're hearing. I'd avoid personally x

mummabubs · 04/12/2020 19:59

Hope you've got the answer you're looking for by now @lucymagoo 😁

RustyCat · 04/12/2020 20:02

Yes hopefully you've been allowed a wee!! @lucymagoo

lucymagoo · 04/12/2020 20:54

It's a boy! I'm ecstatic either way, so glad we know we could really see him wriggling around and waving. Such a lovely experience! 🥰

RustyCat · 04/12/2020 21:03

Oh congratulations @lucymagoo!!!

lucymagoo · 04/12/2020 21:37

They were running behind by 30 mins or so and he had his legs crossed the whole time. I had to keep trying to jiggle him around so she could see 😂 thought I might pee myself on the table by the end

mummabubs · 05/12/2020 07:32

Yay, congratulations @lucymagoo 😁

mouldygrapes · 05/12/2020 11:52

Lovely news @lucymagoo! Congratulations.
I’m desperate to find out the sex and know that everything is ok. Not feeling any movement yet but lots of weird stretchy pains.
20 wk scan is on 5th Jan, hopefully our little yogi doesn’t cross their legs again like they were doing at 12 weeks

How’s everyone feeling? I’m still nauseous and retching at 16 weeks, hoping it eases off for Christmas!

bloomety · 05/12/2020 13:12

Congratulations @lucymagoo. We’re having a boy too!

Is anyone having light menstrual like cramps? It’s freaking me out. I bet I had them in my first pregnancy and didn’t pay them any attention. After 2 mc though every twinge I’m worrying about.

bloomety · 05/12/2020 13:15

@Threebecomesfour I have a Doppler - the angel care one. I can tell what’s baby’s heartbeat and what’s my own as baby’s is twice as fast so I have no problem finding him. My MW also confirmed it was baby’s hb. It’s help to know he’s still alive in there but really I’ll feel better when I can feel him moving. With an anterior placenta it’ll be a few more weeks for me. If I were you I’d hang on til you feel movements, it shouldn’t be much longer. They’re much more reliable to know baby is ok.

Threebecomesfour · 05/12/2020 13:28

thanks all. i think i'll hold off then...looking forward to actually feeling the kicks now

Trousersareoverrated · 05/12/2020 17:03

Congratulations @lucymagoo. I have moments of being sooooo desperate to find out what we are having but I think we will wait until the birth.

RustyCat · 06/12/2020 13:03

Just back from my scan ... We have one of each 😁 little girl and little boy!

lucymagoo · 06/12/2020 14:30

Amazing news!!! @RustyCat that's so wonderful you must be thrilled!

mouldygrapes · 06/12/2020 20:35

Oh, how wonderful @RustyCat! Congratulations

You’re all making me want to go and get an early scan!! But I think I will try to hold out till the 20wk one

RustyCat · 07/12/2020 09:32

@lucymagoo and @mouldygrapes thank you! It wa super exciting to see them, mostly wanted to do it for DH as he hadn't seen or heard them himself so thought I'd treat him.

If you can wait to the 20wk one go for it, I was going to but I caved 🤣.

lucymagoo · 07/12/2020 12:28

Just had my 16 week appointment (even though I'm 17 weeks today) and all very posi. Blood results all looks good, blood pressure good, got to listen to his heartbeat on the Doppler which the midwife said sounds healthy 🥰

Serz88 · 07/12/2020 23:55

Just caught up on everyone's amazing news!
@RustyCat amazing that you have one of each! I have a twin brother and it was lovely growing up together each playing with each others toys and always having someone their with you through all those big life moments.
Have been feeling slight movements especially at night but haven't felt any tonight which I'm starting to freak out about :/

dellarossa · 09/12/2020 13:28

Hi ladies! How are we all getting on? I’ve just had my 16 week midwife appt, all looks good apparently! And I got to listen to the heartbeat 😊 feels v exciting and it’s all starting to feel a bit more real now!

We did the Harmony test at 10 weeks which told us we were having a girl but we’re going to book a scan just before Christmas to check (I feel really paranoid the Harmony is wrong even though I know it’s unlikely!) and then planning a little reveal for our immediate families at Christmas! 😊

Serz88 · 09/12/2020 14:24

That sounds like a lovely idea.
I'm really disappointed I didn't get to hear the babies heartbeat at the 16 week appointment seeing as most people are telling me they did

Catisa · 09/12/2020 15:37

Hello ladies, amazing news from all of you! I am very happy for you. On my side I wnt for the midwife apt yesterday and all good! Also managed to hear the heartbeat. I am sorry they didn't do that for you Serz88, very strange they do different things. Midwife asked if I had felt movements but I haven't yet. I think it must be early I am 16w + 4 days

lucymagoo · 09/12/2020 15:43

That's a shame @Serz88 you should ask at your next one. It made the pregnancy seem very real for me, can be hard to "feel pregnant" when you don't really have a bump yet but hearing the heartbeat coming out of my tummy made it very real that he's very much in there! 🥰

We are doing a gender reveal for parents on Christmas too! Good timing for all of us with that one. Have made a card for them to open, my mum is convinced it's a girl and has convinced my dad too, so she will definitely be surprised when the card says boy 😂

mouldygrapes · 09/12/2020 23:19

@Serz88 my 16 wk appointment is tomorrow and on the telephone so no chance of hearing heartbeat- you’re not alone!

@Catisa I haven’t felt any movements yet either at 16+5. I think it’s still early days
