Just wanted to speak with someone who's just found out their expecting too?

Feeling very anxious due to previously having misscarriages

Glad everything is OK!

Had a bit of a scary morning today. I work in a primary school and was at the gate welcoming the kids in when my deputy head rushes over and tells me to go home now, just get your stuff and go straight home now please!?
A child in my class was off yesterday and has tested positive. Midwife has said I don't need to have a test done just follow schools guidance of staying home for 2 weeks. Luckily the child isn't a clingy one so I would be more concerned if it had been someone else.
Teaching 4/5 year olds on a zoom session is noy going to be fun, especially as I love the couple weeks leading up to Christmas

Trousersareoverrated · 03/12/2020 19:15

Im feeling some kicks for the first time today! Anyone else?

Serz88 · 03/12/2020 20:21

Oooh so exciting!! I've definitely started to feel very slight flutters over the last few days. Mostly when I get into bed haha

bloomety · 03/12/2020 20:42

Thanks @RustyCat. I booked a private scan and he's absolutely fine. Measuring bang on track and moving about quite happy. I even got a little video!

Oh wow thats so exciting about the movements!! I have an anterior placenta so it'll probably be a couple more weeks before I feel anything.

Trousersareoverrated · 03/12/2020 21:03

I felt some rolling around yesterday and then the kicks started today. I wondered if I was imagining it as I have had sort of kick like sensations in my stomach since I had DD. So I got a very cold sugary drink and sure enough the baby went crazy!

Trousersareoverrated · 03/12/2020 21:03

Glad to hear all is well bloomety!

Catisa · 04/12/2020 07:31

I am so happy that all is well @bloomety! It must have been really worrying
@trousersareoverrated that's amazing! I can't wait to start feeling something, it must be so reassuring
@Serz88 let us know how it goes! Good luck with your Zoom sessions, it's going to be fun!

lucymagoo · 04/12/2020 10:28

We have last-minute booked a scan at WTTW tonight to find out the sex Grin my husband and I have had a stressful week and we are desperate to know!

Serz88 · 04/12/2020 12:15

Thanks @Catisa the information meeting this morning was OK as soon as my internet decided to work. God knows how Monday classes will go :P
Oooh @lucymagoo you'll have to let us know. Would love to do a little poll to see who of us is having a boy a girl or a secret haha. We're not finding out, but God I can't wait to know what it is 🙈

lucymagoo · 04/12/2020 12:54

Yes you will be the only people to know in fact Grin we are saving the reveal as a cheap Christmas gift for the family so won't tell them until the 25th Xmas Smile

RustyCat · 04/12/2020 13:53

You guys!! I got to hear the babies heart beats today 😁 the midwife was shocked I couldn't feel them yet as they are wiggling like mad 🤣

Catisa · 04/12/2020 14:21

That's great @Rustycat! So she did show you the heartbeat! That's nice
Good idea @lucymagoo! It's going to be a nice surprise! Let us know when you find out

lucymagoo · 04/12/2020 14:29

Oh that's lovely @RustyCat you'll have to sit and try and feel them. I swore I felt a movement when I really sat and waited for it one evening

RustyCat · 04/12/2020 14:40

I think I've felt something but I'm not really sure 🤣. It's difficult as I have an anterior placenta so I don't know if I will feel or notice them as easily.

I caved and booked a gender scan for Sunday, going to find out what the twins are! Plus it means DH can have his first look at the twins as he's not been to any appointments or my 12 week scan.

I know I'll have my 20 week scan on new year's eve but he's itching to know!

lucymagoo · 04/12/2020 15:50

@RustyCat yes! Another member for the impatient-to-know-the-gender club Grin what are you hoping for? One of each would be adorable

RustyCat · 04/12/2020 15:55

@lucymagoo well why not I've been ever so good 🤣.

See one of each would be ideal as I've always wanted 2 kids so... Done in one pregnancy would be amazing 🤣. But I am happy whatever, I've not set my heart on either gender. DH would prefer 2 boys just so he doesn't have to worry about his daughter (s) getting pregnant.

What about you? Do you have a preference?

lucymagoo · 04/12/2020 16:01

@RustyCat that's ridiculous what about his sons getting girls pregnant? 😂
I would really love a girl, I've always wanted a little girl I think because I grew up with brothers and was desperate for a sister when I was little. Ideally one of each though so I guess it doesn't matter what the first one isSmile

RustyCat · 04/12/2020 16:12

@lucymagoo tell me about it 🤣 I've tried but given up. He also thinks boys will be easier.

Well fingers crossed for you! What times your appointment tonight?

mummabubs · 04/12/2020 16:20

I caved as my anomaly scan has been postponed to January so I decided a private scan to find out the sex was a Christmas present from me to me! Found out we're having a girl which I'm over the moon about as we already have DS and I've always wanted a daughter. Currently waiting for my consultant appointment with an uncomfortably full bladder, can't wait until I don't have to water load before appointments!

RustyCat · 04/12/2020 16:31

@mummabubs oh congratulations on the baby girl!! How exciting!!

Oh tell me about it! Its murder needing to have a full bladder isn't it, especially when they poke at you 🤣. The poking it just asking for me to let loose on the bed 🤣

lucymagoo · 04/12/2020 16:41

@mummabubs a girl! Congrats that's great news

@RustyCat it's at 7:30 Smile

mummabubs · 04/12/2020 16:54

Turns out there'd been a miscommunication and they aren't even scanning me! Result was me running off to do an "angry wee" whilst ranting to myself on the toilet 😂😂

Threebecomesfour · 04/12/2020 16:59

Is anyone using an at home doppler? I can't decide whether it will help my anxiety or not....

lucymagoo · 04/12/2020 18:31

@mummabubs I know how you feel I've already filled my bladder even though the scan isn't for another hour, just have to keep going for a wee and then topping up with water until then, oops!

RustyCat · 04/12/2020 18:51

@lucymagoo oooh exciting!!! 😁 I'm all excited for you! Hopefully the full bladder isn't too uncomfortable for you!
