Looking for someone to chat too? I'm due on 22nd of may by the online calculators.

Just wanted to speak with someone who's just found out their expecting too?

Feeling very anxious due to previously having misscarriages

I wasn’t sure when to book a reassurance scan.
I’m worried about doing it too early and then it not being reassuring if it’s too early to see much.
Was thinking at 8 weeks but that’s 4 weeks to go! Not sure I can hold out 😮

Bea11 · 13/09/2020 16:05

Congratulations to you all on your pregnancies. Ok if I join? I'm due on 20th May. I have a 6 year old but subsequently had 4 losses, one of which was at full term. I'm taking aspirin for the first time, this time round. Would you mind me asking those of you who are taking it, how much you are having and whether you take it in the evening? I read that it can have more effect if that's when you have it. Thanks.

lenny12345 · 13/09/2020 16:12

@mouldygrapes they say between 6 - 7 weeks is safe as you should see the heart flicker on the screen then. I can't tell you as I've never had a reassuring scan. But I'm hoping when I have one at 6 weeks they will be able to see a heartbeat xxx

@Bea11 hiyah!! Congratulations!! So sorry to hear about your losses & especially your baby at full term❤️

I am taking aspirin in the morning and evening and I take 75mg each time. I was advised 75 in the morning and 200mg of progesterone in the morning but I'm taking the double amount off my own research. I just figured I have nothing to lose this time. I needed to try for my own sake, to know I'd tried everything xxx

@evey43 yes agreed the tiredness is weird. I wake up at stupid o'clock in the morning wide awake and within a few hours I'm sleepy. I had achy hips last night too and every so often my calves are achy too.

@lenny12345 technically 2nd pregnancy, hopefully my rainbow baby. I had a miscarriage in April of this year. I am for sure having more symptoms this time round than my last pregnancy so I'm hoping it's a more positive sign, but I am petrified of loosing this baby too.

I will certainly keep you guys updated with symptoms 🤣 hopefully I follow my mum and have hardly any, my sister seemed to have the worst of all of them.

lucymagoo · 13/09/2020 16:49

It's really reassuring to hear other people say they have achy hips and cramps! I've also turned into a morning person, fully awake an hour before I need to be which is so unlike me 😂

Thanks @lenny12345, I'm so confused how much aspirin to take and when to take it as I keep reading different things in different places! Have left a message for the consultant that I saw previously but haven't been able to speak to him yet. Very frustrating! Hopefully she'll get back to me this week.

Bea11 · 13/09/2020 17:21

@lucymagoo @RustyCat I'm with you both on the achy hip front! Have been having lots of nausea too this time. Am grazing constantly to keep it at bay.

Evey43 · 13/09/2020 18:11

@lenny12345 thank you so much. Reading you’re first post it’s sounds as though you’ve not had the easiest of times either. Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy.

I think we got off reasonably lightly with the IVF, our first round failed in July but we got 12 eggs of which 6 were good enough to put back or freeze (which is actually quite good). Don’t get me wrong, it’s rough, but reading the forums some women are going through it for years This are second round of IVF and I still have 4 eggs in the freezer.

Trousersareoverrated · 13/09/2020 18:29

Sorry to hear about those who have struggled with fertility and have had previous losses Flowers

This is my second pregnancy. My first is 2 years old now. I never had any sickness with her but I’m already having a slightly sick feeling in the back of my throat these last few days. Almost like I need to burp but it doesn’t go away when I do (sorry TMI) - anyone else have similar?

MrsWeasely · 13/09/2020 18:55

Hello, hope I can join in? EDD 20th May so around the same time as you guys Smile. It’s my first so I’m not sure what to expect. Currently got sore boobs & nips, tiredness and very slight cramping on and off.

I don’t know about everyone else but I’m so worried about anything going wrong, very conscious it’s still early days. OH keeps telling me to just be happy and take each day as it comes, which I’m trying to do! x

lucymagoo · 13/09/2020 18:57

Welcome! @MrsWeasely I feel the same, every time I get excited and start planning ahead I have to remind myself it's still early. Feels like a weird limbo until we know if everything is okay

MrsWeasely · 13/09/2020 19:04

@lucymagoo yes me too. I have moments where I’m so excited and planning ahead and then I read something about early loss accidentally and I’m back worrying again! It’s just so long until that first scan isn’t it? I did get 2-3 on the clear blue test today which reassured me a bit as it was 1-2 this time last week. Should probably step away from the tests at some point! Blush

lucymagoo · 13/09/2020 19:11

@MrsWeasely yeah it's scary and feels like so long to wait! I'm 4 weeks today, my short cycles mean I found out so early 😬 7 week scan feels like ages!

MrsWeasely · 13/09/2020 19:31

@lucymagoo yeah my cycles are around 26 days and I tested 10dpo so found out quite early as well. I’m 4+3 according to the apps.

Have you booked a private early scan then? I’m thinking about doing that too, maybe put my mind at rest a bit!

lucymagoo · 13/09/2020 20:04

@MrsWeasely yeah we are going to book at around 7 weeks. Should be able to see a heartbeat and chance of misscarrying is about 8% at that point. It's my father in laws birthday at 8 weeks and would love to tell the parents then. We see our in laws so much we can't keep it secret beyond that!

RustyCat · 13/09/2020 20:29

@Bea11 oh tell me about it. I don't have constant nausea but it comes and goes. Nearly chucked up in the car the other day when hubby was driving, normally I'm fine in cars but apparently not at the moment 🤣

mouldygrapes · 13/09/2020 21:20

@MrsWeasely @lucymagoo oh god, I feel the same! Clocked myself planning ahead a few times and have to keep reminding myself it’s still super early.
I think I will plan for early scan around 7/8 weeks.
I’ll be 4 weeks tomorrow by LMP date.
@RustyCat - I’m the same with cars, have felt quite nauseous when driving most of this week (before I had a positive test) and we’re meant to be going on a UK holiday from tomorrow involving lots of driving 😩

MindfulMouse · 13/09/2020 21:56

I'm also due 22nd May! So glad you've started this thread!

First BFP for me, we've been trying since April. I got a faint line on CB on Tues night and then tested with CB digital on Wed and got my PREGNANT. I've spent the last few days in a bit of a bubble to be honest!

Only symptom I have really is a bit of mild cramping so far. I self-referred on Thursday to midwife as everything I read online said to do that straight away. I got a call from a midwife this morning questioning the dates I'd provided and she basically said I shouldn't trust the home tests as they could be wrong. I said I'd done a few but I knew it was obviously early and she more or less said, well I'll process it but really its too early and heavily implied that it might come to nothing. It left me a bit deflated, I get that she's probably just being realistic but I feel like surely I'm not the first woman to refer this early. I'd have felt better if she'd just said, sorry, its too early to refer, can you do it again in a few weeks or whenever they actually expect it? Sorry, starting to rant!!

Congratulations to everyone, hopefully we are all back here in May welcoming our little ones Smile

Serz88 · 13/09/2020 22:10

Hey ladies, hope you don't mind me joining :)
I got my first positive test on Friday and should be due on the 18th May. I'm still in shock as I really wasn't expecting it as I had been having some slight ovary spasms so thought I was coming on. My fiance was picking me up a bottle of wine for our agreed pizza and wine night each month I came on after trying when something told me to do a test just to check.
I came off the pill in April and this month was the first time using the ovulation sticks so really hadn't got my hopes up so am still trying to take it all in.
Is anyone else really anxious about miscarrying??

mouldygrapes · 13/09/2020 22:52

@MindfulMouse congratulations! The midwife experience sounds rubbish, sorry. What part of the country are you in? I’ve heard that some antenatal units are a lot more (like 200%) busier than average. Perhaps that’s why she was a bit short (not trying to excuse it as clearly she could have phrased it better).

@Serz88 congratulations to you too and yes, I’m anxious about miscarrying. Still having some cramps and keep being scared I’ll see blood. Trying to relax and be mindful, cramps are to be expected and just need to roll with it (easier said than done but I’m trying!)

Serz88 · 13/09/2020 22:58

@mouldygrapes good to know its not just me. I was planning on just taking a test every other day to make sure but a quick Google told me that you can get a positive test for quite a while after a miscarriage as it takes a while for your hormones to settle back down.
I've booked an early scan for the 4th October as my fiance won't be able to go to the 12 week scan and I honestly can't wait that long. I'll go mad!

mouldygrapes · 13/09/2020 23:08

I’m even being paranoid about booking a scan!
Going to let it all sink in and then make some decisions. Off work for 2 weeks now which is brilliant timing as I have some time to get my head round everything.

My apps are giving me different dates - by ovulation date it says 4+3 (having ovulated on day 11 of a 26 day cycle) but by LMP it says 3+6.
Ovulation date was 27th Aug and LMP 17th Aug.
Does anyone know which would be considered correct? I guess the dating scan will tell!

Serz88 · 14/09/2020 06:29

Yeah I'm not sure about that either. LMP would be 5+4 but ovulation would be 2+6 and the pregnancy test showed up 2-3 weeks pregnant on Friday.
Have you self referred to maternity services yet?

Serz88 · 14/09/2020 06:39

The last two cycles I had before this one were 37 and 36 days so throws my dates off a bit so I'm not sure which one I'd go with because technically I know how old the baby is but I'm sure most people refer to the LMP date
