Looking for someone to chat too? I'm due on 22nd of may by the online calculators.

Just wanted to speak with someone who's just found out their expecting too?

Feeling very anxious due to previously having misscarriages

@Trousersareoverrated why not use the old ‘I’m on anti-biotics’? X

Trousersareoverrated · 15/09/2020 13:20

They will guess in seconds if I do the antibiotics thing! It’s too obvious especially because all eyes are on me at the moment - we just postponed our wedding with a large enough gap for me to have a baby in (and I’m 38 so people know that I won’t risk waiting). A few (rude) people have already asked DP if I am.

Evey43 · 15/09/2020 13:33

@Trousersareoverrated 🤔 it’s tricky isn’t it. Maybe alcohol free wine? I never understand why people ask, it’s so rude. After having my first it’s been constant. I hope it goes ok x

Trousersareoverrated · 15/09/2020 13:47

@Evey43 I know! It’s not like we are keeping it a secret for fun- it is a very stressful time! They can wonder and guess all they like (I’ve done this plenty of times myself!) but it’s not right to come out and ask so that I either have to lie or tell them something I’m not comfortable with people knowing. I would rather have a couple of confirmed sightings of me drinking to throw them off the scent at this stage Grin

lucymagoo · 15/09/2020 13:49

@Trousersareoverrated definitely get some alcohol free wine and maybe put it in a different bottle 😂 or just insist on only refilling glasses in the kitchen not at the table. I'm a big drinker and my friends would guess immediately, I have drinks scheduled this weekend at a friends and am going to have to cancel last min with some excuse I think

Laurenemma13 · 15/09/2020 13:51

@Trousersareoverrated get yourself some shloer and get your OH to pour for you when no one else is there lol!
How rude, I hate when people ask. None of their business!! X

Evey43 · 15/09/2020 14:51

Yes! I have suspicion my friend is pregnant as well but there no way I’ll ask. She’ll tell me when she’s good and ready. You never know people’s storied either, we really struggling getting pregnant with our second and the constant intrusiveness just reminded me of that. Putting the alcohol free wine in a different bottle is a good idea!

CharlieD2020 · 15/09/2020 16:32

Hi all, please can I join? I just had my BFP today! First baby, started TTC last month, I'm 28. Feeling completely in shock. I thought we'd missed our window this month and honestly thought we would have a long TTC journey due to my odd hormones I've noticed from tracking. Symtoms for me are tiredness and dizziness. I think I'm 4+3. DH and I are excited and happy but definitely in shock. Would love to share in this journey with you all and keeping everything crossed for sticking Smile

Evey43 · 15/09/2020 16:51

Omg I just had a mini panic. The top test is the one I did on Saturday and the bottom one was from about 10 minutes ago. (Just making sure it’s still there!) didn’t realise a positive is read differently on each test and initially thought the second test was negative 🤦‍♀️. Phew!

Is anyone else due on the 22nd may 2021?
Serz88 · 15/09/2020 17:35

@CharlieD2020 welcome and congrats!! That's amazing.
@Evey43 OMG I would have gone into complete panic meltdown mode before noticing! I've decided I'm going to wait until next Friday which will be 2 weeks after my positive 2-3 result to check again and look for that 3+ :)

RustyCat · 15/09/2020 18:17

@Evey43 omg I would have had a meltdown!! I nearly did when I looked at your picture 🤣.

@CharlieD2020 congratulations!! How exciting!!

Is anyone else shedding hair like crazy? Whenever I wash or brush my hair I'm loosing loads of hair, more so than I normally do and I'm a sheddy person 🤣. I'm wondering if it's related to pregnancy or just a coincidence.

Amy259 · 15/09/2020 19:29

Hi ladies! Can I join please? Cycle 2 TTC baby number 1. Just got married 2 weeks ago so if this bfp sticks it’ll be a wedding baby!

I ovulate late (around CD19/20) so I’m only 11/12dpo today. My LMP puts me at 4+4 but ov date at 3+5. So I’m either super early, or super super early 🙈 got faint pos yesterday on IC & CB but neg on CB digi, then clear pos today on both IC and FRER. Will get a CB digi tomorrow or Thursday with weeks on it to try and figure out if I’m due around 20th or 26th May, but I’d guess later.

So paranoid that every twinge is af coming, worried every time I pee etc. Haven’t told anyone yet (waiting on digi test to surprise DH) so it’s been so lovely to read this thread!

Serz88 · 15/09/2020 21:35

Hey @lenny12345 was just scrolling down and saw you ask how old everyone is.
I'm 25. We were going to be getting married on the 8th August and had decided back in April to come off of the pill and start trying. Then our wedding got postponed until the 28th August next year. So if all goes well we will have a little bundle of joy with us at the top table :D

Serz88 · 15/09/2020 21:38

@amy259 oh wow not even DH knows yet! Hopefully all goes well for you! How was your wedding? Mine was postponed but a friend of our were able to move their date and got married with 30 people and they made a lovely day of it considering the restrictions

Amy259 · 15/09/2020 21:45

@Serz88 I’ve ordered wee personalised things to put in a box to surprise him, so hopefully by the time they get here at the end of the week I’ve got a strong positive and can’t be more excited than nervous.

Our wedding was originally April and we postponed to August. We originally wanted a small wedding but gave in to family pressure and should’ve had 90. But we were lucky that it was really just a big beautiful old country house with 11 bedrooms, so we got married with our closest family and friends, and all were able to stay with us Thursday-Saturday for the Friday wedding. It was just perfect.

lenny12345 · 15/09/2020 22:19

@Serz88 hiyah!!!! When are you due?! Same dates as me? I keep thinking this too!!! Hopefully it goes well for us both! It's nice to have someone the same age to talk too! If you don't mind me asking where abouts are you based? Xx

Btw! Also hi everyone!! Sorry I can't keep up but so glad to hear everyone has got their positives! I didn't expect so many responses but it's all so lovely to read!! And see everyone's different signs symptoms and to ease each other's worries lol xx

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 16/09/2020 00:03

I'm NHS frontline too and you wfh doing clinics and audit etc from 28 weeks so no more shifts from mid Feb! Am on nights tonight and struggling so much with nausea and tiredness, hard not to spill my secret. Oh its after midnight so I'm now officially 5 weeks 💗

luckylakes · 16/09/2020 02:38

Welcome from insomnia 🤦‍♀️

I too had a lockdown wedding and it was better than we could have hoped for. I'm glad we went for it - though it wasn't our first wedding so can totally understand why people choose to hold out for a time when they can invite more people and have the wedding they dreamed of.

I'm a dinosaur- 42!!! I'm trying not to google my risks of everything. Just keep on taking the folic acid and every day thinking 'today I am pregnant' and I am so grateful and happy for that. This will be my third but DHs first.

Exciting times for us all and it's so nice to hear from ladies who are due around about the same time.

I've been doing a cheap PG test every 48 hours and the line is definitely getting darker ever time. Need to stop this!!

Bea11 · 16/09/2020 05:45

@luckylakes you're not the only dinosaur! I'm about to turn 42 as well and it's also my third, although I've had 3 consecutive miscarriages in the past couple of years.
Completely understand the trying not to worry part! It's tough though isn't it.
Sorry you've had trouble sleeping. I was like that for a couple of nights but last night I had a brilliant sleep finally. Hopefully it will be your turn tonight! x

Bea11 · 16/09/2020 05:45

Oh and congrats to all those who recently got married 🥂💐

mouldygrapes · 16/09/2020 08:41

Congratulations to those with wedding babies! So glad you got to have lovely weddings.

We postponed our wedding and are still considering a small registry thing. I think it’s important to us to be married before we have kids. Honestly haven’t had headspace to plan since we got the BFP!

@SweetpeaOrMarigold - I’m also NHS frontline. We haven’t had anyone in our dept who has been pregnant during COVID so I’m not sure what they’ll say but I can do a lot of my work from home, so I guess that’s what will happen from 28wks.

mouldygrapes · 16/09/2020 08:43

Oh and I’m 36, 1st pregnancy

RustyCat · 16/09/2020 08:46

Congratulations on the wedding babies.

I am 30 and married just before lockdown, we came back from our 1week short honeymoon to lockdown 🤣 so needless to say we haven't had our full honeymoon yet!

How are we all feeling today?

lucymagoo · 16/09/2020 09:07

@RustyCat we did the same! Wedding in November and honeymoon end of February. We count ourselves lucky 😂 I'm also 30 and now we are due around the same time. Parallel lives!
