Hello! So I'm 32+4 with my second, a girl this time 😊 the whole pregnancy has gone quick as been running round after my toddler, though now I know I'm almost there it's going so slowly! So looking for some buddies to compare notes and pass the time with! Though don't know why I want it to hurry up as I know too well the pain and sleepless nights ahead 🤣 just I think uncomfortable enough now to want her out! Everywhere pretty swollen already, hips hurt and wake me up, I pee all the time even in the night, tired and get some braxton hicks. How are others doing?

Happy Due Date to you! (Mine too 🙈)

My midwife just offered the sweep when I was there Thursday, just ask her for one - especially if they’re planning an internal examination!

I feel too normal today haha, definitely think she’s got a few days inside still (at least). Me and my husband going to go out for dinner tonight (first time since lockdown) just so we have something to do!

UserFriendly14 · 28/09/2020 09:24

Happy due date to you both @SunStruck and @FreyaFirstTimeMum!

@Spark27 I’ll think I’ll stay here with the other overdue or soon-to-be babies in that case then!

Still feeling like a bag of limbs over here.

Spark27 · 28/09/2020 10:14

Morning ladies. Happy due dates.
Nothing to report here. Still pregnant, no signs of anything really. Still feeling like a bag of limbs too. Had very little sleep last night so could happily sell DD for a 2hr nap today 😅.

No idea on the sweep I'm afraid, haven't had one next. My mw wont entertain the idea of one until I'm 41w 🙄xx

myfirsttimehere · 28/09/2020 10:50

Hi All!

Jumping on this thread hope you don't mind Smile Happy due date to those of you due today! I was due 4 days ago, no signs of anything for me either! My midwife also wouldn't entertain a sweep until 41 weeks, so I'm booked in on Wednesday. I've no idea what it's all about though?! Does anybody know how far they let you go before they induce you as I can't remember? I really feel like this baby has no intention of going anywhere!

FreyaFirstTimeMum · 28/09/2020 11:24

@myfirsttimehere welcome!

The sweep was ok for me, just like a more intense/longer cervical smear... husband was in the room and he was horrified - told him that’s child’s play compared to what’s to come 😂

For induction, my trust have said 12 days over to be induced - would personally rather avoid as I’m keen on a pool birth and they don’t allow it if induced...... however if I am 12 days over I’ll be desperate for it haha

@Spark27 @UserFriendly14 feel for you both! I’m insanely bored and symptom checking every hour so can’t imagine what it’s like at 41 weeks... however at least babies will likely be here this week for both of you (one way or another)

Spark27 · 28/09/2020 11:38

Hello @myfirsttimehere. I cant help I'm afraid. I was induced at 38+2 with DD. I found the pessary induction really painful but I think its cos my body wasnt ready at all. I've never been that fussed about smear tests so I'm hoping I dont find a sweep too bad. Might smash a few paracetamol before just in case (more for a psychosomatic effect 😅).
I've got an appt on thursday when I'll be 40+4 and my mw said she'd then book me in for a sweep at 41w. She also said she'd book in an induction then, just to make the hospital aware for the future as she doesnt want to leave it to the last minute in case they book too many in. So hopefully I'll find out then if their policy is to wait the full 2w or what xx

Margo34 · 28/09/2020 15:11

Still pregnant here, 40+2. I feel a little bit sad that I might have an October baby at this rate, dunno why, but I just told myself all along that baby will be here in September, looking less likely by the day! Irrational sadness though I know! 🙈

UserFriendly14 · 28/09/2020 20:16

@Margo34 Not irrational at all- I said exactly the same words today! My due date was Sept 20th and I had it in my head that I’d have a September baby. Now I’m being induced on the 30th and it’s more likely I’ll be having an October 1st baby.

Sorry I missed your question @SunStruck, but I think they can offer a sweep regardless- it’ll possibly depend on where you are. My area offers them due date and after, but I know others have said up thread that they have to wait until 41 weeks.

Welcome @myfirsttimehere Flowers again I know my area books you in for 10 days over, but it could depend on where you are.

@Spark27 I did have to think of you earlier- I got got 15 minutes into my nap while DS was having his and baby decided to shift about, with very painful fanny daggers too- just goes to show that if it’s not one it’s the other! This will be our lives soon! 😂

Spark27 · 28/09/2020 23:45

Oh bugger girls. I feel like something might be slowly starting to happen. Not ideal with it being DDs birthday tomorrow. Although I want something to happen, I was hoping not til tomorrow pm at least. I'll have to give it a few hours to see if it continues or not

UserFriendly14 · 28/09/2020 23:54

@Spark27 Oh wow! Your body knows which day to give birth on, doesn’t it!

Hope it’s just a passing pains for you. (And not because I’m jealous that my due date was before you!!)

Spark27 · 29/09/2020 00:09

I want it to continue as it feels like a fair amount of discomfort to be nothing, but I'm really annoyed if it does. My DH is giggling to himself about twins born 3 yrs apart 🙄.

Currently in the bath to test out if it's real and if this helps, and to get a sneaky leg shave in 🤣

UserFriendly14 · 29/09/2020 07:33

@Spark27 I’ve just had a check of the Oct thread and saw that you’ve delivered! Congratulations!! 🥳 Hope you’re both doing well and your DD enjoys her new birthday present!!

Spark27 · 29/09/2020 07:48

Thanks. So quick. From nothing to 9cm in about 3hrs. I expected them to tell me I was a wimp and send me home. Not enough time for my epidural though so only gas and air. I was livid 🙈. Will do a proper update later. Knackered but too full of adrenalin to sleep, waiting for checks to be released xx

UserFriendly14 · 29/09/2020 08:14

Haha I hope you gave those MW what for- telling you you’re not a wimp and not giving you an epidural!

Enjoy your newborn cuddles!

FreyaFirstTimeMum · 29/09/2020 08:30

Wow! Congratulations @Spark27 - sounds like that went very quick! Glad everything went well though and hopefully DD doesn’t mind sharing too much haha

FreyaFirstTimeMum · 29/09/2020 08:30

How many of us will be left at end of this the week?!

SunStruck · 29/09/2020 11:01

Ashy congratulations @Spark27 !!

@FreyaFirstTimeMum 🙋🏻‍♀️ I am definitely in this for the long haul, went for an examination today and I'm barely even dilated (barely 1cm). She couldn't even perform a sweep! So my mind is firmly set on our induction date on Monday next week now 🙄

FreyaFirstTimeMum · 29/09/2020 12:46

Monday’s not too far at least @SunStruck ... mine won’t be until next Saturday (October 10th 🙈.... which will be two days before my first wedding anniversary, so can imagine we will be sharing it haha)

Spark27 · 29/09/2020 14:52

So, full story. First contraction hit at 2245. Nothing before. In 4 contractions I went from 15mins between to 12 and then 8. Sat on 8mins for about 4 contractions and then I was down to 5mins between, and lasting 50+ seconds. Got my mum round. Called hospital who said to get there around 0100. Got there and was in so much pain I had to push them to examine me at 0130 and demanded gas & air. They told me I was 9cm 😱. No time for an epidural, I was livid. I pounded the gas and air like my life depended on it. Said a few choice words. Baby girl was born at 0252 weighing 7lbs 5oz.
Discharge took a while as all so slow, but managed to get all newborn and hearing tests done. Home by 1215.

I cant believe I did it. I always wanted another epidural.

UserFriendly14 · 29/09/2020 14:57

@FreyaFirstTimeMum I definitely feel like I’m no where near delivering (Other than, y’know, being induced tomorrow). I can’t believe I had the earliest due date here and I’m one of the last!

@SunStruck sorry for your lack of sweep! My MW said only 1 in 9 work anyway, if that’s any consolation!

We still brave it out until the end!

FreyaFirstTimeMum · 29/09/2020 21:51

@UserFriendly14 good luck with your induction tomorrow! What time you going in?

UserFriendly14 · 29/09/2020 22:40

Thank you @FreyaFirstTimeMum! I’m booked in at 11- hoping there’s a delay so I can have a nap in peace!

I’ll keep those that are left updated 😂

Spark27 · 30/09/2020 03:43

Hope all goes well with your induction @UserFriendly14, and hopefully you get to catch up on some sleep as well......I miss sleep.....😅

I'll be keeping an eye out for your update xx

SunStruck · 30/09/2020 04:46

Good luck @UserFriendly14 ! Let us know how it goes ❤️

Big news: my waters broke this morning! Currently on our way to the hospital. Didn't expect this at all after yesterday's examination 🤷🏻‍♀️ don't know what will happen now but I'll update you guys!

FreyaFirstTimeMum · 30/09/2020 08:10

@SunStruck amazing.. I can’t lie and say I’m not jealous 😂 hopefully that’s you still in the hospital now!

@Spark27 aw haha we will all be in the same boat soon 🙈
