Hello! So I'm 32+4 with my second, a girl this time 😊 the whole pregnancy has gone quick as been running round after my toddler, though now I know I'm almost there it's going so slowly! So looking for some buddies to compare notes and pass the time with! Though don't know why I want it to hurry up as I know too well the pain and sleepless nights ahead 🤣 just I think uncomfortable enough now to want her out! Everywhere pretty swollen already, hips hurt and wake me up, I pee all the time even in the night, tired and get some braxton hicks. How are others doing?

@mistletoeprickles congratulations!
Just thought I would update, sorry I went quiet but was too stressed by lack of anything happening to admit it on here
Mad weekend, went into labour at 4am Sunday after a lovely Saturday, every 10 mins all morning and let up in the afternoon. Left ds with mum and all picked up around 9pm, rang triage as I was a VBAC and they said to come in even though I was only contracting every 8 mins. Got in and was 3 in 10 mins straight away, but 1cm dilated so admitted but husband couldn't accompany me. Laboured all night 3 in 10 1 Min each, and 6am came and still 1cm, so called it a day as that's exactly how DS 's labour went on and ended in c section. Opted for a section and daughter was delivered at 10:21am yesterday :) home today as of 4pm

Hope everyone is doing ok ❤️

FreyaFirstTimeMum · 22/09/2020 19:20

@Crumbsinthecarpet congrats on the birth of your little one! 💕

Spark27 · 22/09/2020 19:24

Congratulations @Crumbsinthecarpet. Pleased you at your little one are home. Hope you're getting to rest up xx

MrsK89 · 22/09/2020 19:31

Congratulations @Crumbsinthecarpet hope you both are well

UserFriendly14 · 22/09/2020 20:40

Congratulations @Crumbsinthecarpet!! I was thinking of you today. Hope you’re all doing well.Flowers

UserFriendly14 · 22/09/2020 22:27

Going to start my own TMI now... downstairs- have a tidy up or leave it be?

MrsK89 · 22/09/2020 22:54

@UserFriendly14 haha to be honest I've kinda been keeping on top of it, but only because the hair really does my head in and gets itchy. I have of course been doing this blindly and only by touch because I cannot see a thing over my belly.
Really wish I could be bothered with my legs but I don't have the energy

UserFriendly14 · 22/09/2020 23:15

Thank you @MrsK89! I’ve been Veeting my legs as I can’t bend down anymore, but goodness knows if it’s actually working or just giving my legs a nice exfoliation!

Spark27 · 23/09/2020 00:36

@UserFriendly14 I'm still just about able to shave my legs in the shower. It does take a lot longer and with a lot more heavy breathing. But I I that to scratching myself in bed.
I'm also still trying to remain groomed, but I cant really see much so it's fairly hit and miss. Sometimes I'll think I've done a good job but then I catch sight later and it's patchy. I'm finding it's a bit swollen down there and quite sensitive so I dont want to wax or anything x

UserFriendly14 · 23/09/2020 10:35

@Spark27 I feel the heavy breathing!

Just had my 40w appt and now booked in to be induced a week today, if nothing happens before. So nice to have an end in sight.

Spark27 · 23/09/2020 15:39

Its nice to have it booked in so at least you can plan for that. But hopefully you wont be kept waiting.

I've had an exciting day- cleaned the kitchen blind and made a load of sweet and savoury scones for the freezer. Rock and roll.

Hope all is going well with @Elly88 and shes enjoying baby cuddles

UserFriendly14 · 23/09/2020 20:44

@Spark27 oooh scones sound amazing! (Pronounced s-con or s-cone?!)

I know I keep thinking of @Elly88 too! Keeping everything crossed that all is well.

Crumbsinthecarpet · 23/09/2020 21:34

@FreyaFirstTimeMum @Spark27 @UserFriendly14 @MrsK89 thank you!!

On the note of self grooming pre delivery I was lucky to do this the day before labour, but I can thoroughly recommend the best shower cream that you exfoliate off, or the scrape off one, I applied it to nether regions with hands for more control over where it was going, results were v good! 😂 No razor burn, cuts or pain!

SunStruck · 24/09/2020 04:11

Hi ladies, how are we doing? So 39+3 today and I went for a scan on Tuesday this week. Dr said my cervix is starting to open up but still only barely 1 cm. And I've felt fine all the way through so still banking on that he'll be late. Yesterday I started feeling shooting pains very low down though and it feels a bit different from anything I've felt before, I don't know if this might be because his dropping? I can also feel his head almost above my vagina moving (sorry TMI) which is very different from the moves I've felt before (most moves were feet and hands higher up). Bump goes hard on and off too but I can't tell if it's Braxton Hicks or just baby rolling with no space inside?

Good I'm so crap at this, I probably won't recognize labour starting even if it slapped me across the face 🤣

FreyaFirstTimeMum · 24/09/2020 10:25

Had a sweep at my appointment today (39+3). She said my cervix was quite far back so don’t know how successful it’ll be 🙈 husband was allowed in... he was horrified 😂

FreyaFirstTimeMum · 24/09/2020 10:50

@SunStruck I keep second guessing every roll, mild pain.. fluid.. haha but nada! I need to chill because apart from being a bit bored at home I’ve got no reason to need her here right this second. Just hope whenever she comes I can avoid induction as I would like to use the birth pool - but I won’t be induced until 41+5 so if she does wait that long I’m sure I’ll be desperate to get her out and scrap the water birth haha

SunStruck · 24/09/2020 12:00

@FreyaFirstTimeMum 😂😂 did the sweep hurt? Oh how exciting you just had a sweep, maybe things will start to move along! Yea my induction is booked for 6th if October, when I'll be 40+8 so let's see...

FreyaFirstTimeMum · 24/09/2020 12:41

@SunStruck I wouldn’t say it hurt more that a normal cervical smear... just uncomfortable and went on longer than I thought it would haha - if it works she said could bring labour on in next 24 to 48 hours!

mistletoeprickles · 24/09/2020 13:39

Just thought I'd pop in and see if theres anymore babies.

Congratulation @Crumbsinthecarpet.

Nice to see some new faces and booking of sweeps and inductions.

DS is now 9 days old and settling in with us nicely. We seems to have a good nights sleep every other day but I'm napping alot thanks to DH watching the boys during the day whilst DD is at school (DS1 is still only part time).

I still have a mountain of bruising with new ones appearing daily but I'm recovering well and I'm off 4 hourly pain killers. The second c section is definitely worse than the first! It's so much harder on my body but to a small extent I've carried on because the other need me too but lots of rest I in between

MrsK89 · 24/09/2020 15:02

@Crumbsinthecarpet the shower cream sounds good, what's it called 😁

Aww good @mistletoeprickles glad DH is looking after you. Get as much rest as you can.
No news here, booked in for induction this Saturday so should hopefully be more news then! Not looking forward to getting induced alone, but I've given birth without DH before so it is what it is I guess.
Kids are excited and keeping awwing over the new baby clothes 😁

Spark27 · 24/09/2020 16:37

Exciting news on the induction being booked @MrsK89. Are you having DH join you once you hit 4cm or is he having to stay home with kids?xx

MrsK89 · 24/09/2020 17:07

@Spark27 DH is hopefully joining me at 4cm 😬 mil is going to watch the kids thankfully so childcare is sorted
How are you and how were the scones? X

Spark27 · 24/09/2020 17:32

That's good @MrsK89. I was worried you might be stuck for childcare. We've got my mum stepping in to have DD when it all kicks off.

I made 2 lots of scones. Some raisin and some with pesto and mozzarella in them. I just made the dough, cut them, froze them individually and then bagged them up for the freezer. The internet gods said you can do that for cooking another day. Hopefully they will be yummy on a day when baby is here and we are hungry but too tired. If they're rubbish I'll probably strop out and make DH get me a McDs or something 🤣

UserFriendly14 · 24/09/2020 17:46

@MrsK89 excellent news about your induction. Not looking forward to that part without DH either, but at least I know he’ll be with DS for a bit.

So glad you’re getting on well @mistletoeprickles. Bet it feels strange to start with to say “the boys” 😃

Nothing to report here and now 40+4. Same as @FreyaFirstTimeMum, every roll, pain and stretch is second guessed. Baby had a really good stretch this morning, so must be getting too squashed for her liking! I’m hoping this time next week, I’ll be home with baby.

MrsK89 · 24/09/2020 20:23

Thank you both ❤️
The scones sound lovely. I've asked my mum to make some foods to freeze for the kids, saves me cooking when I've had baby. Hopefully I'll just be in and out on the day.
Ah my poor ds (eldest) just came down with a bad earache. Hate seeing them poorly, DD still has a bad cold, doesn't seem to be shifting
