@SabrinaGx I had rust colored wiping for three days around the time I expected my period but nothing recently. I don't think spotting is necessarily a cause for concern but its best to confirm with a Dr.

SabrinaGx · 22/08/2020 10:54

@Elspethelf My period would have been on the 9th of August so I'm way off! Have no idea what it is and just getting so worried 😟 ill have to call the gp on Monday if it doesn't finish by then.

VickiS86 · 22/08/2020 11:19

Hi everyone

Firstly, congratulations to you all. I'm 7+2 weeks pregnant with my first. It's taking my husband and I 2 years to get pregnant so I'm thrilled. I'm due on the 8th April and I'm very nervous. I had a little bit of bleeding at 6 weeks and had an early scan. They could see the pregnancy sac and yolk sac but no embryo. It might of just been too early so keeping everything crossed for my re-scan this Wednesday.
This week however, the morning sickness has started and I've gone off a lot of food such as all meat, fish, dairy and some vegetables like sweetcorn which I found odd. I also had Covid in April and that damaged my olfactory nerve so a lot of things all have the same disgusting smell and taste and I can't tell them apart. For example, coffee smells the same as chicken and toast. It's also odd that I can eat bread but not toast.

Is anyone else going through this and if so, what are you able to eat because I'm only able to eat because I'm struggling to find enough food to eat and I'm becoming scared to try things incase it has this bad smell and taste.
Thanks x

VickiS86 · 22/08/2020 11:27

I had the same at 6 weeks and it lasted 3 days. I actually went into a&e straight away because i was that scared. They booked me a early scan with the EPU the next day. I have read that it is normal to have some bleeding during early pregnancy but it's always worth mentioning it to your GP. I have to go back for another scan on Wednesday because they couldn't see the embryo. They said it was probably just to early to see it.
Even if the bleeding stops by tomorrow it's worth calling the GP to put your mind at rest. Smile

VickiS86 · 22/08/2020 11:31

@SabrinaGx my last post was mean to be a reply to you but I'm new to this and didn't realise I had to tag you in it.

SabrinaGx · 22/08/2020 11:45

@VickiS86 thank you so much! Yes im in 2 minds of whether I wait until Monday, or call 111 today :/ I'm praying and hoping its nothing 😔 this is my first so I didn't even know that missed miscarriage was a thing! Now that I know its just scared me so much.

VickiS86 · 22/08/2020 11:57

@SabrinaGx I was the same. I had no idea either until my scan when they said they couldn't see the embryo. I started asking loads of questions and did loads of reading. To put your mind at rest call 111. But if you're sent for a scan and like me they can only see the yolk sac then I know it will be hard but don't worry. There is only a 20% chance they'll see anything at 6 weeks. Maybe see if they can just book you in for an early scan at 8 weeks just to put your mind at rest instead of waiting till the 12 week scan.
I have my re-scan on Wednesday and that will be a day before I turn 8 weeks.

Apricotta · 22/08/2020 12:21

@SabrinaGx I've read in so many places online spotting is normal so as long as it doesnt get really heavy I'm sure it'll be OK. Remember the stories we used to read in teenage magazines (days before the Internet and social media!) where teens would find out they're pregnant when giving birth in their family bathroom?! They put on no weight and still had normal monthly periods?! Xxx

SabrinaGx · 22/08/2020 13:08

@apricotta I know its so crazy! I've read that the discharge is normal in early pregnancy and as long as it's not red then shouldn't worry.. but then I've seen some stories which are the opposite and have scared me!
@VickiS86 I'm going to call 111 now and see what they say. I'm still really early so i don't think a scan will show anything at all!

Workingmama1 · 22/08/2020 13:13

@vickiS86 sounds like we have had a similar time so far, I'm 7+2 which I think works out the same as you. I had an early scan last week (due to one sided pain and not bleeding though) and they could only see the egg and yolk sack, no baby or fetal pole. Have a rescan on Monday and hoping to see a baby and a heartbeat!

My last pregnancy started similarly with an early scan due to bleeding but too early to see much on first scan but at the follow up only a 6ish week baby and no heartbeat 😪. So now I'm a bag of nerves....

VickiS86 · 22/08/2020 13:35

@Workingmama1 I wish you all the best for Monday. Let me know how it goes. I'm really worried about my scan too. Because I've started experiencing morning sickness and I've gone off a lot of food everyone, including my doctor, keeps saying it's a good sign but I'm trying not to get my hopes up because it will hurt even more if its bad news. I know that might sound bad but it's just how I'm keeping myself sane at the moment. At least you haven't got too much longer to wait and I really hope everything is ok this time.

Nat171 · 22/08/2020 21:38

I’m due 25/4/2021 too .. found out 4 days ago 🙌🙌

Workingmama1 · 22/08/2020 22:08

@VickiS86 good luck to you for Wednesday too! I totally understand how you feel, I've been doing the same not trying to get too excited. My nausea has eased a bit today which has freaked me out, but I guess I'll know where I stand on Monday. As much as nausea sucks if it's ramping up that's good as hormones are increasing.

DMCCF · 23/08/2020 18:33

I had the same last Sunday I had browny discharge and pain on one side so I called 111 they asked me to go over that night and I had bloods done and an internal exam (not fun I might add) and then an early internal scan on the Tuesday! They could see the sac yolk and a flutter of the baby but have to go back on Wednesday for another early scan! I haven’t had hardly any sickness just urge a lot at things and been feeling sick in the pit of my stomach in the mornings, extremely tired and sore boobs! it’s such a worrying time and I’m an anxious person at the best of times! Hope everyone’s okay x

SabrinaGx · 23/08/2020 19:04

I called 111 about the brown discharge and they said due to covid19 they can't do anything as im not bleeding red Confusedso they said I'd have to wait till tomorrow morning and call my gp. Just feel so nervous now!

CrazyFooLady · 23/08/2020 19:05

Hi ladies!
I got my BFP on Tuesday so will be around 5 weeks tomorrow, I'm going to be an older mum at 40...... just panicking about the risks etc x

AnaMoz · 23/08/2020 19:54

Hey everyone! I found out I’m pregnant for the first time last week. Due date calculator says 22nd April. I’m having a constant dull ache in my tummy and back, breast pain but no nausea yet. I’m struggling to sleep, wake up every couple of hours with bad night sweats. I’m 35 and only been trying for a couple of months. It doesn’t feel real yet but it is still very early days.

megmcc93 · 23/08/2020 20:06

I went to a&e this morning as had severe cramping yesterday, no bleeding though. They didn't scan me and just said it was probably nothing to worry about, but to come back if it got worse. I still have cramping but it's mild and I've had cramping pretty much all week - like mild period pains. Anyone else?

@SabrinaGx if you are concerned I would ring your gp back in the morning and they could arrange a referral to EPU? Hope you're ok 🥰 xx

AnaMoz · 23/08/2020 20:39

@megmcc93 yes I’ve been having bad cramps and been worried, I’ve spoken to some of my mummy friends who say this is perfectly normal in the early stages.

megmcc93 · 23/08/2020 20:47

@AnaMoz ahh thank you. Everything I've read has said it's normal but it's just so worrying isn't it? I just feel on red alert 😩😂

lastditchattempt20 · 23/08/2020 20:49

If any 'older' mums to be 🙈 would like to come and join our small (so far) group for those age 35+ and expecting you're v welcome. It's quite new so at the moment most of us are due in April anyway. ☺️

AnaMoz · 23/08/2020 20:54

@lastditchattempt20 I’ve just realised I said I was 35. I’m not I’m 34 (and only just) Baby brain maybe?? I will be 35 when I give birth so would it still be ok for me to join?

Magrah · 23/08/2020 21:04

Hi, thought I'd join too. The due date calculator says 21st April. It's taken us 5 years to get pregnant so I'm fairly anxious but I'm trying to have a nice relaxed pregnancy. I think this group might help. We have a scan booked for the first of September for some reassurance, especially as I had a tiny bleed last Friday. I feel nauseous and oh so tired most of the time which makes me really happy. So anyway, it's going to be great to share this experience, especially looking forward to the Facebook group

lastditchattempt20 · 23/08/2020 21:30

@AnaMoz well we won't kick you out! ☺️ The group started as a grad group from TTC 35+ I think 35 was chosen as it's the age at which fertility typically can start to decline. Some of the issues we'll face are more relevant to older mums but if you'd like to join then of course you're welcome!

Tiff94 · 24/08/2020 08:29

Remember anyone joining the fa book page please leave your mumsnet username otherwise you won't be accepted in. I have about 10 request with no names please enter your name and I will add you in to the group. This is to keep its as safe and for mumsnet users only. Thanks have a great day xxx hope everyone is well.
