@ladyfarmer congratulations! Surely it's good thing as I'm due course it's more hands to the deck?! Or should I say barns? 😝 Seriously though I'm sure you'll be fine. Happy days! Xx

bh2210 · 17/08/2020 13:07

Congratulations @ladyfarmer! Great news!

I'm nearly 35 and like you had thrown it to fate to decide. It took us 8 months and I had actually given up 'trying' as it was too much. I had always laughed when people said that 'trying' was difficult. It's exhausting more like.

My question is for those who are employed. When are you going to tell your work? I'm just about 6 weeks and have a midwife appointment at 8 weeks and then scan at 12+5. Working from home does make it easier to skip off for a 'dentist appointment' without prying eyes. Should I just leave it til after my scan and then just drop it into casual conversation in a call with my boss?!

Wasn't sure if maybe HR was a better bet first as I'm still in the early stages ?! any advice would be great.

ladyfarmer · 17/08/2020 13:08

Apricotta- I hope so! I’m imagining that it might have to get used to being outside for much of the day quite soon after arriving! We are already joking about it being ‘raised by spaniels’...,

stellarfox · 17/08/2020 13:30

@clueless987 Did you take a test this morning? Good luck this evening. Thinking of you!

clueless987 · 17/08/2020 15:14

@stellarfox yeah I took a test this morning which was actually slightly darker than the ones I've taken the last few days

Apricotta · 17/08/2020 19:13

@JLM1008 How's the stomach? I actually had salmon and scrambled eggs got tea myself! Xx

ZooKeeper123 · 17/08/2020 20:18

Hi everyone,

I’ve been following this thread for ages so feel like I know you all but I’ve been too scared to post as I’ve had a blighted ovum and also missed miscarriage in the last year... so trying to keep realistic ...

@clueless987 I really hope you’re ok and you have some good news for us all xx

Butterbean11 · 17/08/2020 20:38

Hi all, hope I can join! Got a BFP today! Already have a daughter who turned one last week. EDD 21st April. Is there a FB group at all? X

Serethiel · 17/08/2020 20:42

Just catching up while in the bath

@Clueless987 I'm sorry to hear about your last scan and the confusion. I remember the feeling of not seeing anything on my scan and not having any clarity on anything. It truly is an awful feeling. I really hope you get some answers soon. Please keep us updated. Thinking of you x

megmcc93 · 17/08/2020 21:03

Hi everyone. Been following this for a few days but been too scared to say anything🙈. I found out last Tuesday I was pregnant with my first baby. EDD 20/04. I am so excited but also extremely nervous. ☺️ it's been a comfort reading everyone is pretty much in the same boat x

megmcc93 · 17/08/2020 21:49

Congratulations to everyone else too! 🥰

ladyfarmer · 17/08/2020 21:56

Congratulations @megmcc93 - it’s a scary time, hey? So many emotions swirling around.

stitchandangel · 18/08/2020 07:31

Congratulations to all the new ones who have joined! I think I'll be leaving very soon though Sad isn't looking good for me

Apricotta · 18/08/2020 07:42

@stitchandangel oh no! What's wrong? 😔 Hoping you're not going to leave! Xxx

leaferty · 18/08/2020 08:02

Congratulations @megmcc93

Sorry to hear that @stitchandangel - what's happened?

I've just sent a request to join the Facebook group. I wasn't going to yet, but I can't think about anything else except being pregnant so might as well!

Link for the facebook group for anyone wanting to join. You can also search 'Due April 2021' as I'm not confident in my hyperlink abilities 😂

Serethiel · 18/08/2020 08:32

Scan day today.....scan at 11.20 ....nervous is an understatement. I keep telling myself to prepare for the worst case scenario.....I also feel super sick right now 🤢🤢🤢

leaferty · 18/08/2020 09:06

Good luck @Serethiel

Alwaysautumn · 18/08/2020 09:49

Hello everyone! I got my BFP last week, EDD around 21 April (though it's a bit confusing because my last period was mysteriously 2 weeks long, and then I didn't get a positive ovulation test until day 23, so I've tried to calculate based on that madness!). All being well this will be baby no. 2 (my son is nearly 20 months). I felt nauseous a couple of days before I got a positive result on the test - is that even possible?!

Amelie1234 · 18/08/2020 10:16

Hi everyone,

Like some of the others been following for a couple of days. Got my BFP on saturday and have an EDD 18th April. I'm 37 and this is baby no1 so very nervous about it all.

IWM20 · 18/08/2020 10:42

Hi all. Just requested to join the FB group but I accidentally put my name as IWM10... I was close 😂😂.

Due 20th April 🤞🤞 MCs in May and July this year 😩 xx

83Mimi · 18/08/2020 10:59

I have done 2 positive tests and a pregnancy app tells me I am due mid April (both my partner's and my birthdays are in April too!)

I am finding it weird that I wont see a physical doctor until my scan at week 13. I am finding it really hard to believe that all will be ok - I am 'older' at 37 and my head is so full of all the risks that I really haven't felt able to be excited yet... is anyone else just a ball of anxiety right now??

We had been trying for over a year but this is the first positive test result. We had started testing for fertility support so that might be why I feel anxious - I had pretty much given up on the hope of a successful pregnancy without medical help

83Mimi · 18/08/2020 11:03

@bh2210 you dont have to tell your work until 15 weeks before due date (or something like that - do double check!). But if you trust your manager or someone in HR to keep your confidence and be supportive then you can tell them when feels right. It's really about how much you trust your manager/company to be supportive or not. And how many people you want to know so early on (does gossip tend to travel fast in the company or not??).

Tiff94 · 18/08/2020 11:13

@IWM20 I gathered it was you just added you in to the Facebook group.

Tiff94 · 18/08/2020 11:14
