Got my scan first thing in the morning at 8am. Up at 6 for the loo lol I know it's to help see as much as possible, kills me over two hours with out the loo. All worth it though x

DressingGown87 · 10/06/2020 21:14

@1990shopefulftm Could you arrange a call with your line manager to discuss? I've agreed with my manager that I will continue to WFH until end of September, on flexible hours. This way I can use my maternity for when she is here. As she will be attending a large nursery, and possibly prem, I didn't want to start her too soon.

@GhostWorld Congratulations on your scan and little boy! Glad they wrote it down for you. My sore arm and drowsiness started the day after from the vaccine, everyone is different though.

@Sls668 I get the odd twinge from the ribs in the evening, tends to be the days I've done too much. Hope your feeling better soon.

@Freddie1987 Thanks I will get round to taking a look tomorrow. TU are meant to have some nice bits in at the minute.

@Clalou83 Good luck with your scan tomorrow! I ate (no self control) nearly a full packet of chocolate fingers before! When I put my hand on my stomach I could defo feel her!

@DressingGown87 I haven't definitively decided that I ll go back after mat leave at this point as it's borderline if it is worth me working with how much the nearest couple of full time nurseries that we like are a month.

Flexible hours wouldn't be an option for sure but I will be discussing the date I want to go on leave with them and will see what they say.

Sounds like you ve got a good arrangement sorted with your employer :)

WaveStreet · 10/06/2020 21:42

@60sPony they're so cute, like teeny duvet coats!

@emmaa96 what lovely photos of your girls!

@GhostWorld yay welcome to team boy 💙

@DressingGown87 how exciting you got your pram, that one is on my shortlist too.

@Clalou83 hope tomorrow goes well for you, at least you don't have to wait around for your scan on the day, i hate the clockwatching!

DressingGown87 · 10/06/2020 21:46

@1990shopefulftm Nursery is so expensive, isn't it. I'm lucky that I'm getting discount / trading services, otherwise I would seriously consider not returning. Hopefully your Employer is reasonable and you can work something out.

@Wavestreet It was close between that and the Occaro at the test push today! Has great reviews.

@roarfeckingroar Yeah all good thanks, it was just that bloody jab that made me feel under the weather. My arm and neck/shoulders are still absolutely killing me, it's been 48 hours so surely it should pass soon?!

@Dressinggown87 zero judgement on the chocolate fingers, my healthy eating has gone out the window the last three weeks or so!

@Sls668 On the painful ribs front, I haven't had that per se but I also have only worn a bra about 3 times since lockdown haha. I'm embracing freedom before I absolutely need to wear one Grin

@Clalou83 Good luck tomorrow!

@EmmaA96 amazing photos! They look adorable!

EmmaA96 · 10/06/2020 22:12

Thanks ladies!

@GhostWorld congratulations on baby boy 💙
Due my whooping cough this week but never had any problems apart from an achy arm!

@Freddie1987 I do think H&M is hit and miss. I ordered stuff from there & sent the majority of it back. Same with the children’s clothes ordered my 18 month old clothes which fitted my 3 year old perfectly it’s bizarre!

Not looking forward to the painful ribs! I got it with my previous pregnancies when I was 30+ weeks, definitely feels like they are about to break!

DressingGown87 · 10/06/2020 22:13

For anyone shopping there are some good cash back deals, on top cashback. I've just got 6% back on my crib and the 20% off.

@DressingGown87 i dont think I could make that decision straight away if it were close, I'm so indecisive! What swung it for you towards the uppababy?

Just placed a h&m order, who knows how successful that'll be!

DressingGown87 · 10/06/2020 22:32

@Wavestreet I know it was tough. But the store I was in didn't have any other appointments until end of August, and wanted to make a decision.

Uppababy Pros (for me) found it easier to move, better to fold, the handle movements felt more sturdy / easier. The basket is huge! I also think it will 'hold' value more, as it can be converted to a double. They also do regular services and valets on them, 3 years warranty. Slightly lighter than the Ocarro, and the carry cot is safe for over night sleeping.

With the Ocarro, I loved how it didn't feel as wide, was still great to move, better colour choices, and the seat is suitable from birth and looked much comfier (which was the major thing I loved and wish the uppababy had). Although it was only 2 years manufacturers warranty, and as they have closed my local store, I have some uncertainty on the future of the company (especially with a looming recession).

@DressingGown87 thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, really helpful. I'm trying to think about how and where i will be using the pram, its hard to find something that suits all possible situations of course. e.g. I run my own business and can take baby to work with me so I'd imagine I will be working at least part time fairly early on. There's not much space so it's hard to tell if i need to prioritise the pram size or do i just hope he likes a sling?! It's all new things to consider isn't it. There's a shop near me opening soon and taking appointments, hopefully that'll help too.

watersintheclouds · 11/06/2020 07:00

Good luck for this morning @Clalou83 My scan is at 9.30. Fingers crossed they both go well.

GhostWorld · 11/06/2020 09:19

Thanks everyone and good luck to those with scans today! I've just signed up to something called Sprout, which is currently free due to Covid, its been compared to NUS extra so possibly will have some good discounts! I might go to Boots tomorrow for the Emmas Diary thing but I'm a bit anxious about lots of people being in there.

1990shopefulftm · 11/06/2020 09:24

@GhostWorld, that discount site sounds great, i haven't posted off my exemption certificate form yet but will sign up once I get it :)

Freddie1987 · 11/06/2020 10:22

Hope it all goes well scan peeps! 💛

@GhostWorld I've been to two stores in Leeds and both had queues to get in so there was only ever a few people in-store at the same time, hopefully the same near you. x

Clalou83 · 11/06/2020 10:34

@watersintheclouds Hope your scan went well too. Thank you.

Mc3209 · 11/06/2020 10:35

Is anyone else being overly emotional? Gosh, it really doesn't take much to make me cry. It's so annoying, that is not me. I need thick skin for work, and here me sobbing into my sleeve. Argh.

Clalou83 · 11/06/2020 10:36

Morning all my scan went well. All seems fine so far.

Very wriggly but very co-operative too. She sent me out to empty my bladder she said I'd gone over board lol I did what they said didn't empty for 2 hours. Smile Was better for me I could breath again lol

WaveStreet · 11/06/2020 10:45

@Mc3209 yes that is me! It doesn't take much to upset me at the best of times but yesterday i cried twice over an egg. I just have days like that occasionally, hope you're ok.

@Clalou83 lovely scan, and glad all is well.

Mc3209 · 11/06/2020 10:47

@Clalou83 gorgeous picture! Glad everything went well.

watersintheclouds · 11/06/2020 12:32

@Clalou83 so glad it went well and lovely photo.

My baby was very wriggly too but unfortunately the sonographer couldn’t get a good look at the heart chambers or bladder. She said it all looked good from what she could see and all measurements were fine but I need to have a further scan at 24 weeks to check the organs again.

I also found out I have an anterior placenta so that explains why I’ve not felt movement yet. It could be another few weeks until I feel them.

DressingGown87 · 11/06/2020 12:40

@clalou83 Glad your scan went well, and you had a cooperative baby. Lovely scan picture. I was the same with the bladder, it had only been 45 minutes!

@watersintheclouds Glad your scan went well too, they can be such hard work. Another chance to see the baby again. I'm back this afternoon to try get another measurements, as she just wouldn't co operate last week. Aww the movements will come soon.

@Mc3209 Yes I can cry over everything, at any time, any day! Yesterday I found I had put my white top, in a dark load.

@WaveStreet I know there are so many factors to consider. Hopefully when you get an instore appointment it will help. I found that most looked bulky, for all terrain (do alot of walking in the Lakes).

Hi Ladies when purchasing the uppababy travel system have you purchased online or from a shop? As can't seem to find shops that sell them. Really wanted to test that one out. Really liked the silver cross too.

Clalou83 · 11/06/2020 13:44

In the Northwest area.

DressingGown87 · 11/06/2020 13:55

@Clalou83 I purchased mine from Winstanleys Pramworld in a Wigan. They will deliver it when I’m ready. John Lewis also have them x
