@UpsyDaisy1234 It's a surprise for us.

watersintheclouds · 12/06/2020 12:08

@UpsyDaisy1234 we’re a surprise too so team white and grey.

I woke at 5am with a headache, sore and hot arm after my whooping cough vaccination yesterday. Today’s video calls have been a struggle!

I have my risk assessment with someone from our health and safety team later this afternoon. I’m not at much risk sitting at my dining table but this might give some indication if I’ll be back in the office before maternity leave.

FirstSurprise001 · 12/06/2020 12:17

I’ve sat looking at the old thread for days thinking ‘ I’m sure everyone’s more talkative than this, what’s going on!?’ Then twigged that there’s a new thread 😂

I hope everyone’s okay this week, lots of mixed feelings!

For those feeling a bit down, I’m completely with you. This week, being poorly, seems like it’s dragged and I’m only now starting to feel a little better. If it cheers you up, it’ll make you laugh to know I thought I’d perfected my ‘eyes closed walk to bathroom at midnight and pee’ until last night when I actually fell off the toilet. Like did I miss completely or did I fall asleep on the toilet!? 😂😂 Safe to say DP didn’t even wake up so I have high hopes for night feeds 🤨

Glad I’m not the only one worrying about the big purchases, around us there doesn’t seem to be anywhere that does appointments for prams etc 🙄

WaveStreet · 12/06/2020 12:27

@FirstSurprise001 been wondering how you're feeling now? Your story about the toilet made me laugh! I do the zombie stumble to the bathroom in the dark to try not to wake myself up too much.

Clalou83 · 12/06/2020 12:37

@WaveStreet @FirstSurprise001 Ha ha I'm exactly the same zombie shuffle.

Except at the mo we have a new mattress but no bed so kinda have to wake myself up to get up carefully lol can't wait for the new bed to arrive almost two freshly decorated bedrooms ready then.

FirstSurprise001 · 12/06/2020 12:50

@WaveStreet Aww that’s lovely! Yeah, a bit better. Living off gaviscon as they think I have quite a bit of acid going on plus the urine infection I didn’t know I had 🙄 this will be number 4 of the pregnancy! Anyone else had loads of water infections, is it common?

@Clalou83 I have no idea how you’re coping with no bed! I’m practically rolling out of mine at the moment 😂

Sls668 · 12/06/2020 13:18

Hi guys, had my 20 week scan this morning and all is well. I’d stupidly watched a video on a baby born with a cleft lip so I’d really stressed myself out (even though I know it’s treatable and there are much worse things to worry about!). I also had a dream that the baby’s nose was so big it took over it’s whole face so the sonographer spent ages showing me the face was fine! 😂 She was amazing and so chatty, she didn’t do the whole scary awkward silence which made me feel so much better.
It’s my 30th tomorrow so we’ve booked a private scan to find out the gender and so we can attend together. I’m literally so excited I might explode!

1990shopefulftm · 12/06/2020 15:45

@Sls668 glad your scan went well and you had a lovely sonographer, I think some of them really get how appreciated it is for a pregnant lady when they explain something that was worrying you.

DressingGown87 · 12/06/2020 15:59

@Sls668 Congratulations on your scan, glad it all went well. Aww what a lovely birthday present for you. Happy Birthday for tomorrow.

@1990shopefulftm Could you try and see a private physio for some pregnancy friendly exercises for your joint pain? Or yoga?

@Jaffas22 Sorry you've been struggling with anxiety, hope your feeling a bit better today. I have high and low days, its a struggle. Speaking to my MW yesterday community MW are starting back up next week, and other services, so hopefully you will get a better service. It must be hard working at the hospital throughout this, could you take some annual leave to give yourself a rest? Good luck for your scan on Monday. My baby is really low down, so the movements are really low, when you know the position you might be able to place them a bit better.

@watersintheclouds The vaccine is horible isn't it! Hope your feeling better now, and the risk assessment went well. My employer said whilst I'm not really at greater risk sat at my desk in the office, to at home (can't climb scaffolding or ladders on building sites even without COVID), me working at home is better for the office as this reduces numbers and allows better separation in the office. Maybe you could suggest this?

@FirstSurprise001 Glad your feeling better, that toilet incident made me laugh!

How many times a night do people get up to pee? I have to keep a diary for my consultant as they think my bladder is having issues (which it has since being a child).

1990shopefulftm · 12/06/2020 16:22

@DressingGown I think the physio clinic I ve used in the past has just reopened to see patients, I m just quite anxious to see people in person but I could call the physio clinic and ask what the chances are of a phone appointment since I think it's just pregnancy aggravating the existing issue rather than a new problem.

With peeing so far, I d say some nights I get through the night, some it's once a night and some it's been two but when it's been twice I ve woke up because I had hip pain and thought actually I think I ll go anyway.

Freddie1987 · 12/06/2020 16:34

@FirstSurprise001 it's about two times a night now, one about 3/4 am then another about 6am then another when I actually get up. So maybe three times?!

Whoever mentioned the falling off the loo incident, I hear you 😅I am even debating a stair gate because I have been scarily close to going down the stairs on my way to the loo, doing the sleep drunk stumble before finding the light switch!

FirstSurprise001 · 12/06/2020 16:54

@DressingGown87 mine is at least 3 times a night but I’m hoping that’s down to the infection! I think most of the time it’s in my head that I need to go because I’m so worried I’m going to do it in my sleep 🙈 I’m such a child! 😂

Clalou83 · 12/06/2020 17:41

@FirstSurprise001 Ha ha only till next week wed or thur I think. It's a good mattress just bought a simba so not too bad.

Clalou83 · 12/06/2020 17:42

@Sls668 Congrats on your scan and a very happy birthday for tomorrow wow and you get to see your baba again and find out the sex what a lovely treat for you both on your special day x x

Sls668 · 12/06/2020 17:52

Thank you! I’m so excited to find out tomorrow! I’ve attached today’s scan pic, feel free to make guesses!

WaveStreet · 12/06/2020 18:15

Had my scan this afternoon and all looks good (eventually - he was being a bit of a monkey and wouldn't turn over!).

@FirstSurprise001 that's good to hear you're starting to feel better

@sls668 glad your scan went well today, you must be so excited for tomorrow! Also your scan is SO cute what a lovely photo. Mine are all blurry headshots from all the wriggling!

SamK93 · 12/06/2020 18:26

@Sls668 that is such a beautiful scan picture! Excited for you for tomorrow, happy birthday in advance xx

60sPony · 12/06/2020 18:50

@Sls668 happy birthday for tomorrow! Scan is so clear - I’m going to guess little boy. What a lovely thing to be able to tell baby when they are older

Flora20 · 12/06/2020 18:52

@Sls668 That's such a lovely scan pic, mine looks like an alien because it wouldn't sit still!

@DressingGown87 I go at least 3-4 times, possibly more! I can't last the night even when not pregnant though so probably not the best comparison 😂

Anyone else feeling like a balloon that's about to pop?! I think it's because baby has grown a lot but my body hasn't caught up yet, my bump feels tight and I'm feeling mildly out of breath in general... It feels a bit early to be feeling so 'full' 😂

Mc3209 · 12/06/2020 20:38

Congratulations to everyone who had scans!

Re night toilet trips, I can usually sleep through the night, but then wake up with huge uncomfortable bladder 🥴

@Flora20 I've been out of breath for good few weeks now. You should see me walking up the small city hill 😂 Belly is starting to feel a bit tight too.

Elizag20 · 12/06/2020 20:39

Has anyone got any good apps or websites they are using during pregnancy. Very broad question I know 😅

mamavee · 12/06/2020 20:53

Hi everyone! Haven't posted much, but following all the chat Smile
I'm 20+4 now and had our 20 week scan on Monday. It's a BOY! DS will love having a best friend - there will only be 18 months between them.
I had an elective c section last year due to breach presentation. Spoke to the consultant and a VBAC is very possible. Totally bricking it Shock But feels like the right option. I had a tough recovery with DS so we'll give it a go!!

UpsyDaisy1234 · 12/06/2020 21:50

Hello moms!

Congratulations to everyone that had their scans today. Glad they all went well.

Boy names are haaaard! And choosing names for non-identical twins who could be boy & girl is even harder. We have two girl names that we love so much & have agreed on. Fingers crossed!

We have decided to convert our study room to an extra bedroom. We definitely need the 5th room now. DH has moved his work desk down to the conservatory today. Lol. We are waiting after scan to start decorating & we intend to redecorate the current kids rooms too. All choices would depend on babies' genders.

What's everyone up to ladies?

DressingGown87 · 12/06/2020 22:32

@Sls668 that’s such a cute and clear scan pic! I would guess boy! Are they sucking their thumb?

Thanks for all your replies! I got before bed, and straight away when I get up, and about 2-4 times during the night. Trying to limit what I drink, but midwife says I’m dehydrated and to drink more! 😫

@Elizag20 bumpie is meant to be a good one to record pictures. I’ve got Pregnancy + and Bounty.

@1990shopefulftm a telephone consultation sounds a good idea, hope they agree.

@Flora20 mine seems to go through stages of being ok and pop! Don’t know if it’s related to my diet / chocolate habit.

@mamavee congratulations on your scan and little boy 💙 that’s a great age gap. My ex step kids had a 17 months age gap, between the eldest and the twins. It was lovely to see their bond! But it was like raising triplets at times 😂

@UpsyDaisy1234 aww it will be great. Boys names are so hard, but glad you’ve managed to agree on some, have you ask your other DC for their input? I’ve been having a huge clear out, and trying to decorate and finish the guest room!

@Sls668 happy birthday :)

@Flora20 I get a tiny bit breathless at times, especially after big meals.
