@roarfeckingroar you can be confident that baby is going to be in the most comfortable and practical pram. I m just showing DH the top options for things and then making a decision together :)

Sls668 · 04/05/2020 17:22

I feel really mean now as I just told my boyfriend what pram we were getting as I’ve had it planned for years 😂. I have sent him off to research a new car though that’ll fit the pram in the boot (we need a new one, we’re not just buying a new one for that reason!)

Lorenzo3000 · 04/05/2020 17:37

@roarfeckingroarwhat was the scangate? Missed that one

1990shopefulftm · 04/05/2020 17:38

@Sls668 car research is still fun.

justtb · 04/05/2020 17:40

My biggest issue with sleeping at the moment is my crazy intense dreams. I end up waking up more tired than when I went to bed. I must be sleeping about 10-11 hours a night - makes me feel like such a lazy bugger! And I keep getting really hot but the next thing I'm shivering..

DressingGown87 · 04/05/2020 17:42

@Sls668 I'm sure he will love the fact he is picking / researching the pram!

@roarfeckingroar This is nice! Has he got a spreadsheet with his findings? Do we get the big reveal of the top 3?

@1990shopefulftm Sorry to hear your not sleeping, hope you find a pillow to help. I've just been using bed pillows for now. Hope you've found somewhere to stash the moses basket.

@LST87 I know the feeling, I've had lots of fertility issues and losses. I'm nearly out of what they called the 'danger stage' which is huge achievement, and a relief. It will be amazing to see the baby again, my gut was saying girl, but now I'm not sure.

1990shopefulftm · 04/05/2020 17:48

@DressingGown87 I've ordered a pregnancy support wedge for now, i ll try a pillow between my knees tonight to see if it helps. I think it's having to go in the under stairs cupboard for now, i expected it not to be so long but it ll fit well in the living room.

Had a surprise personalised baby grow arrive in the post as a gift from a friend which made my day, I'm hoping to meet them for a calm baby shower before baby arrives as they all live a good distance from me but it was lovely that one of them sent me something which i really didn't expect :)

Glooorb · 04/05/2020 22:23

@justtb I'm glad I'm not the only one with vivid dreams! I seem to be having them every night and they are all really weird. The other night I dreamt that I had 4 boobs Hmm I wonder if it is because I am not sleeping as well as I used to, and I'm breaking up my REM sleep and so remembering all my dreams now

roarfeckingroar · 04/05/2020 23:06

@Lorenzo3000 scan gate. The bugger didn't want to know the sex at our private scan. I did. So I do and he doesn't. And in my hormonal emotional state I was adamant he was a selfish git for thinking he had a say when I'm, you know, growing the baby. But he saw I was upset and asked me to tell him because he hadn't realised yadda yadda so I refused to tell him... anyway. All is well now 😁.

@DressingGown87 no spreadsheet just a billion open tabs. We have now purchased the pram / travel system and car seat ! And he's chosen which baby carrier he wants, which will look adorable, and set me up an amazon baby wish list. He's not doing so badly today.

roarfeckingroar · 04/05/2020 23:08

@Glooorb yes every night. Absolutely crazy dreams. It's quite fun and sometimes a bit disturbing.

DogCatDex · 05/05/2020 11:06

Hi guys, looks like I’ve missed a solid 5 pages of chat! I have a rather personal question. Is anyone else getting sore, slightly cracked nipples. This is my first baby so clearly never had any breast issues before! Just wondering what I need to do and whether I should worry

I’ve started moisturising them over the last couple of days

Thanks for any advance on my rather embarrassing question in advance!

KitKatKit · 05/05/2020 12:22

Hey @DogCatDex , nothing is too embarrassing to ask on this thread (I hope!). It could be that your boobs are growing really fast and the stretching isn't helping.

I haven't got the same, but I did take my nipple bar out after 9 years because I felt like my boobs/nipples were stretching out and feeling way more tender than before.

I ordered some nipple cream a few weeks ago from John Lewis, it might help prevent any further cracking or stretching if you give it a go Smile

1990shopefulftm · 05/05/2020 12:26

@DogCatDex I don't have any soreness at all but I ve got a bit of cracking, I find doublebase helpful for any skin problem I have.

UpsyDaisy1234 · 05/05/2020 12:29

@DogCatDex There's never a question too embarrassing or too silly to ask when you are pregnant. Even a woman having her 10th child wouldn't know it all still...as every pregnancy
, even for one woman, is different.

With my Dc2, i had dry, flaky nipples & my midwife then said some mosturiser would help & it did. But it wasn't sore though.

When you say cracked & sore, is it bleeding? Is it painful? If any of these, i think you should mention it to your midwife.

Its probably nothing😊 but in the meantime, keep mosturizing with nothing strong, it won't cause any harm.

60sPony · 05/05/2020 13:41

@DogCatDex Cannot recommend Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Cream enough, especially if you plan to bf baby when they arrive. It is a miracle worker.. quite pricey think about £10 from memory, but so worth it

EmmaA96 · 05/05/2020 14:04

Hey ladies just catching up, been busy decorating our bedroom this weekend which has took us about 9 months to do! Cleared out the spare room which will become the babies room. I’ve had awful sickness this morning I thought I’d feel much better by now!

DogCatDex · 05/05/2020 14:47

@KitKatKit @1990shopefulftm @UpsyDaisy1234 @60sPony thanks guys! They aren’t bleeding or anything. The skin on the nipple tips just look white and a bit cracked. I only noticed last night and was a bit freaked out as I’ve always had rather little nipples and they’ve got a lot bigger!!

I’ve got some tummy moisturiser and it looks like you can use that on boobs too so I’ll start doing that. I have my 16 week midwife call next week so I’ll give it a week and if it’s not better I’ll ask for advice then!

Separately if the lockdown is relaxed slightly do you thing it’s safe for us to see some of our families or not worth risking it? I’ve really missed my mum if I’m honest

1990shopefulftm · 05/05/2020 14:59

@DogCatDex my nearest friend is 20 minutes on the train and after that they re around 100 miles or more away so I m not planning to see anyone for a bit after it lifts incase train or service stations go a bit mad.
Could you compromise and see them outdoors so there's a bit of space between you?

ZsaZsaMc · 05/05/2020 15:41

Hello everyone, can’t remember if I have replied to this (or the previous threads) or if I have just been lurking.

I’m 16 weeks and am so hungry this week. I ate lunch at 1pm and already feel like I need half a sandwich!

Is anyone else like this? If it’s pregnancy it’s fine but if it’s just being greedy and bored of lock down I’ll try to restrain myself!

ZsaZsaMc · 05/05/2020 15:44

@DogCatDex i will see friends / my mum if lockdown eases but I won’t get the tube (and I have a toddler at home so my socialising will be limited anyway!) Also I don’t expect pubs to open so socialising would be limited to being in parks / our homes which feels better.

But I’ll be watching what other people do / what further recommendations there are for pregnant women!

1990shopefulftm · 05/05/2020 15:49

@ZsaZsaMc I m 15 weeks and my appetite is increasing for sure.

Mc3209 · 05/05/2020 16:05

@DogCatDex I lather myself in BioOil - bum, belly, and boobs religiously - in my attempt to prevent stretch marks (I know stretch marks are pretty much genetic, but one can hope...). So far that kept all the dry bits under control, and I have eczema flare ups every now and again.

@ZsaZsaMc Yeah, I can happily eat all day everyday. So same here.

DogCatDex · 05/05/2020 16:32

@ZsaZsaMc I’ve been snacking but I think that’s more down to boredom. I’m currently obsessed with jacket potato and magnum ice creams though (not at the same time of course haha)

KitKatKit · 05/05/2020 19:25

@ZsaZsaMc I could have written your post. I ate breakfast at 8am, was starving for lunch at 11:30am (so ate), then had a second lunch at 3pm and dinner at 6pm! I'm 16 + 1, and it's like the hunger has taken over!

In other news, I had a private scan this morning for reassurance and it turns out, I'm growing a boy 💙

1990shopefulftm · 05/05/2020 19:44

@KitKatKit congratulations :)
