not been on for a while congratulations to everyone on their scans mine is next week its dragging in.

@SamK93 I'm on antibiotics just now for a UTI so unsure why your GP wouldn't give you them maybe phone back and see if you can speak to someone else. my only symptom aswell was frequent urination and my sample was positive for just about everything

Clalou83 · 04/06/2020 20:43

@EmmaA96 I have a permanent mark in my left ear for sleep on the left side. I've had a pregnancy pillow since about 8 week it's brill, you can then use it for breast feeding by turning it the other way around.

I do wake up in my back sometimes, that scares me but it does say in the books don't worry you can't control how you sleep.

I think after so long your body tells you to move. I prefer my right side, can't wait once baby is here to go back to right lol 😆

DressingGown87 · 04/06/2020 22:03

@LadyB90 I’m also thinking of the pebble. My rational is that (I think) the seat inserts can be removed at different stages, so if her head is a bit small, I can give her extra support, but her body more room. I also have the next stage up, on a swivel base. So didn’t need one which lasted ages. I was also recommended the Cybex cloud Z as this has the recline feature. Plus the Joie I snug, as a cheaper version.

@Freddie1987 aww congratulations on your scan and little boy 💙

Everyone I have spoke to (pregnant or has a boy) have all said they would have / did struggle with a boys name.

I’m a huge right hand side sleeper, always have been. I’ve had the builders start today, can’t wait for it to be over, living in a cloud of dust! Think the sound of power tools are still ringing in my ears, even though I hid in the bedroom.

LadyB90 · 04/06/2020 22:22

@DressingGown87
Ah great thanks that's good to know!
I was also recommended the cybex but as far as I can tell it doesn't recline when in the car, only when outside of the car so think I prefer the pebble over that one. Will have a look at the different inserts for the pebble.

I've not been on for a while! Congratulations everyone with their scans!🎉🎉

I just had mine yesterday and expecting a baby girl! Over the moon🥰
Can anyone recommend a good brand of 3 in 1 prams/travel system? We almost went for one until my oh noticed it wasn't a 3 in 1! Any brands to stay away from or good sites? Would prefer to spend under £550 though x

Aw it's so lovely to see everyone's bumps growing! I had my scan on Wednesday and everything was great, baby was unusually cooperative so it didn't take as long as I expected! It was my birthday too so a lovely present 🙂 Weirdly a couple of minutes after the scan baby started kicking really strongly and ever since the movements have been much stronger - I felt a hand/foot yesterday and it's been so strong that my husband was able to feel it for the first time yesterday! Think the scan nudged it into a different position or something...

Boy names are definitely hardest, I'm looking all over the place for one I actually like... It's hard because I teach so many kids, most names already have faces attached to them!

Thanks everyone!! Here's the pic I put on Insta Stories last night, it was the first time I've been public on social about pregnancy so was really nice to receive a lot of lovely messages from people ☺️

The name thing is definitely hard for us, there's only one boy name we've really liked so far. I thought I'd have a few options by now...

As for car seats, I like the look of the Cybex too. I don't think you can legally drive with the seat in full recline which is why it might prevent you from putting it like that in the car, but it's a good feature once you click on to a pram because not a lot of other car seats do lie flat. I'm going to have a look at the Pebble though, sounds good.

Oh and I meant to say everyone's pics are bringing me so much joy, it's lovely to put bumps to names! 😆💛

Freddie1987 · 05/06/2020 09:50

a lot of other car seats don't* lie flat when out the car (wow, baby brain)

DressingGown87 · 05/06/2020 11:14

Loving all the bump pictures!

@Freddie1987 I was the same, and it was nice / weird to get all the nice messages. But is also started all the speculation, which I'm trying to ignore.

@Strawberries4days Aww congratulations on your scan and your little Girl! As for prams the three on my list are the Bugaboo, Uppababy and the M&P Occaro, which are all terrain travel systems.

Freddie1987 · 05/06/2020 13:51

@DressingGown87 I hear you, it's ridiculous how much you feel judged on social no matter what your circumstances are but honestly, the people that you're closest to are the only people that matter. I say, don't bother replying to anyone that makes you feel weird!

roarfeckingroar · 05/06/2020 14:47

@Freddie1987 @DressingGown87 I haven't said anything on social media at all. I have a friend who will be very upset by it - he's a bit toxic and has always "loved" me and I shouldn't protect his feelings because Christ he's been a dick due to his "love" over the years.. but I just don't want the BS.

justtb · 05/06/2020 15:13

An honest post from me.

Lots of tears this morning, after non stop worrying from the past fortnight that something has happened to baby. I don't feel pregnant, bump is getting smaller if anything, combined with all the other first time worries. I'm more nervous for my 20 week than I was my 12 week scan. It's still 6 days away.
I looked at my bump full on in the mirror just now and my linea nigra seems to have come out of nowhere! I look at my bump a lot and I mean I look at it a lot! Didn't just think it would pop up for nothing 😂

This must be a good sign, right?

@roarfeckingroar God that sounds exhausting!

I haven't said anything on social media either but maybe I feel like I have my outlet here with you guys!

Happy days for all you who have also had scans this week and good luck to all who are still waiting.

I've just realised I've potentially only got another 15 weeks or so at work before I'm on mat leave (planning on taking 2 weeks AL and then starting mat leave 2 weeks pre EDD)...and have totally shit myself at the thought!

October seems an age away...15 weeks doesn't Shock

Firsttimemummybear · 05/06/2020 15:33

Hi all

I’m due end of Oct and hoping partners will be allowed in by then - what does everyone think?

My bump is still tiny at 20 weeks and upsets me when people say.. maybe I’m over reacting!

1990shopefulftm · 05/06/2020 15:36

@Firsttimemmummybear
I think it's that they re allowed once you re at 4cm at my hospital, I m lucky in that the midwife unit and ward are a 5 minute drive away so if they were to check me and I wasn't at 4cm so couldn't have a partner I ll just be going back home.

It's having an induction alone I m most worried about, I ve not been admitted to hospital in about 20 years so I know that ll make me anxious.

Firsttimemummybear · 05/06/2020 15:45

Do you not think things will change by October?

I have been reading lots of Hypnobirthing books and they’ve really put me at ease. Maybe give that a try :)

SamK93 · 05/06/2020 15:53

@justtb I hope your feeling okay, I know it's not a nice feeling, I've still got another two weeks today until my scan. I understand your worries I was the same first time around, try your best to stay positive for yourself and the baby I know it's hard just try shifting your focus on other things. 6 days will fly by honestly, I'm sure you'll be feeling movements pretty soon too which will make you feel better. Bumps change everyday depending on bloating etc too! My linea has just started to make an appearance too. Hope your okay xx

1990shopefulftm · 05/06/2020 16:00

@Firsttimemummybear they hopefully will, either way I don't want to go to the midwife unit until I'm in active labour, I d rather be comfortable at home since we re so close anyway. I thought about a home birth but decided as it's our first that the midwife unit is probably a better idea.

Flora20 · 05/06/2020 16:49

@justtb It's normal for your bump to change size and shape and also for you to feel nervous, but I'd see the line as a good sign 🙂

Deut28 · 05/06/2020 17:33

@justtb Glad it's not just me! I've been so anxious and emotional. Worried something might have happened to the baby and I haven't realised. Worried my bump is too big/small (depending on the day). Worried I haven't felt movement. I think being a FTM probably comes with a certain level of worry, but being a FTM during a pandemic adds a whole other level!
roarfeckingroar · 05/06/2020 17:52

@KitKatKit oh it's so boring, tedious, unnecessary. I just don't want negativity.

@justtb wooooooh look at that line!! Looks awesome. I hope you're feeling better. I've been seriously anxious too because I'm not feeling regular movements. Anterior placenta; still scary.

I've been getting awful middle back / rib pain for the past week and wearing a bra seems to make it worse. Today I decided sod it; I'm going to let my (now 32 F) boobs swing free. All well and good until I caught my reflection while walking to Sainsbury's and realised my t shirt was thinner than I had thought 😬.

Flora20 · 05/06/2020 18:33

@roarfeckingroar That made me laugh! You've done much better than me, I put a bra on for my scan the other day and it took me ages to find one, it's been so long since I bothered!

DressingGown87 · 05/06/2020 18:55

@roarfeckingroar They are annoying aren't they! My ex cheated on me with an OW, when I found out, turns out she didn't know about me or his DC. I met up with her to get my head straight, she said they had been trying for a baby etc. My ex had the snip, so I told her, as I don't think any woman should think its them that has fertility issues. He made out to her that I was lying, and that the reason WE didn't have DC was because of my fertility issues, and not because he had the snip. I admitted that I did have issues and that I wasn't fussed that he'd had the snip because of that. She stayed with him. Someone has seen my post, and she has messaged me saying I thought you couldn't have DC? I've explained that I didn't think I could but its happened, she said shes still not fallen PG. His MUM has now messaged to say why am I trying to ruin their relationship, and I need to get over it, and admit that I've PAID for treatment in AMERICA, and that her SON has not had the snip! So it just seems my post has just given me agro!

Sorry for the long post!

@DressingGown87 block them or perhaps adjust your privacy settings, you shouldn't have to deal with that.
