Ladies, I thought second trimester is supposed to give me more energy? For the past 2 days I'm feeling so tired and run down. Work is a drag and yesterday I was so tired I couldn't even walk the dog and just had a lie down after work... is this normal?

SamK93 · 03/06/2020 13:52

@Glooorb I could have wrote this post myself I just feel so tired. I literally have no energy at all, forcing myself to get up and do things would much rather lay on the sofa all day. I woke up tired this morning and I can see the whole day being like this

roarfeckingroar · 03/06/2020 14:28

@1990shopefulftm relaxin is a funny one for me. I'm pretty flexible pre-pregnancy when I do yoga my lower black feels kind of loose. Lower back stretches and the roller I bought from my chiropractor are saving me at the moment. It sounds like you have the right idea and are keeping safe - way more important than weight!

@FirstSurprise001 I didn't mean to!! Best of luck with your scan. I'm envious your little boy moves around so much. I'm not sure whether it's my anterior placenta dulling the sensations or my boy is just a lazy creature like his mum 😁.
Bump is doing well!! Photo included.

@DressingGown87 I miss swimming so much!! There's talk of gyms / pools opening 4 July. I will be straight in the pool if so - there's a Virgin Active under my flat.

@Glooorb it could be the change in air pressure affecting your energy levels? Sounds a bit weird but big weather changes have a huge effect on my energy - my dad and I were discussing this morning how we're both feeling tired and flat.

@roarfeckingroar Hopefully the flexibility will be a good thing when it comes to labour for you. I ve never seen a chiropractor, did you find it quite effective?
I know the extra weight is putting more pressure on my joints but hopefully post pregnancy with probably some support I ll get to a good place with my joints again.

Lolllyf · 03/06/2020 14:38

@roarfeckingroar you look great! Is that the boohoo jumpsuit?
I wasn’t very fit before just mostly doing Pilates, barre, walking and occasional run but still reasonably active. Now I am doing barre videos but have to adapt some of ab work. Doing antenatal Pilates on YouTube and trying to walk a lot. Also not sure if it’s enough. I had an acl ligament repair on my knee 2 years ago and it’s usually not painful at all but started getting some pain so need to be a bit careful. Also so much of the Pilates is done kneeling! Every now and then I have a burst of energy and do way too much and then I am exhausted for a few days.

Lolllyf · 03/06/2020 14:40

@Glooorb I have been absolutely exhausted past 2 days! Started feeling nauseous when I was walking yesterday. I feel so much better today now that it’s cooler. Never been so happy for it not to be hot!

roarfeckingroar · 03/06/2020 14:52

@1990shopefulftm I found an osteopath to be much better for me but it depends on your preference.

@Lolllyf it is indeed the fabled £12.50 jumpsuit and it's so so so comfy! I don't usually buy from Boohoo because in my experience the quality is a bit shit but I could wear this every day. ACL damage is such a bugger, you have my full sympathy.

Lolllyf · 03/06/2020 14:58

@roarfeckingroar I have never ordered from boohoo before also scared of quality. That looks great I’ll have a look at fabled!

roarfeckingroar · 03/06/2020 14:59

@Lolllyf 😂 no I meant it is the famous jumpsuit - it's from Boohoo.

FirstSurprise001 · 03/06/2020 15:02

@roarfeckingroar ahhh bump is so cute! I didn’t think I’d have much of one with it being my first and being a size 6/8 before but everyone is saying it’s really quite big 😂 That jumpsuit does look super comfy, I might need to invest!

I seem to be living in dresses at the moment, can’t stand the idea of putting on jeans, even maternity ones!

20 week scan went perfectly, nothing to worry about which is a massive relief!

Lolllyf · 03/06/2020 15:04

@roarfeckingroar 😂😂 I am laughing at myself!

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 03/06/2020 15:31

I caved and ordered some maternity knickers yesterday. I got sick of them rolling down my tummy or digging in! Never had this issue with my little boy Grin

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 03/06/2020 15:34

I've also just spend some time on Amazon today creating a list of things for baby (some stuff we had got a bit mildewy in the loft :(

SamK93 · 03/06/2020 15:39

@roarfeckingroar @FirstSurprise001 loving the bump pics! I'm usually a 6/8 but I have gained a bottom and a bump in this pregnancy! I feel huge for 18+5, H&M maternity dress.

Mc3209 · 03/06/2020 16:09

Wonderful bumps everyone!
This is me at 18+3 wearing glamorous maternity over the bump pants with a saviours band underneath...
Anomaly scan tomorrow, eek! Starting to get the jitters.

Gosh, you all look fab and so neat! I look like a whale!

1990shopefulftm · 03/06/2020 16:40

@FirstSurprise001 glad your scan went well:) feel impatient for mine on Monday but grateful it seems DH can go with me at the moment.

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 03/06/2020 16:44

@1990shopefulftm that's amazing! Is that NHS?

1990shopefulftm · 03/06/2020 16:49

@Monkeyseemonkeydoesnt yes, they re making an exception just for the 20 week scan, the rest of the appointments have to be alone.

Clalou83 · 03/06/2020 17:02

Loving all the pics ladies. I went to my 18 wk apt all went well and because I hadn't felt a flutter since Saturday she took the babies heart beat and allowed me to film it to show my partner.
Made my day SmileI feel more in the loop now I have more info and appointments and notes.

I'm 18wk +6. I'll join in with the bump pictures so Here's my bump.

DressingGown87 · 03/06/2020 17:56

Lovely bump photos! Love the maternity clothes / dresses too!

I have been sorting out things for the loft today, had the builders round; so I’ve missed my afternoon snooze!

Here’s mine from yesterday, when the sun was actually shining! Not a great angle though!

@1990shopefulftm from what I saw Monday, they can also attend the midwife appointment too after the scan.

1990shopefulftm · 03/06/2020 18:03

@DressingGown87 as far as I know I don't have an appointment after the scan, they said I could get my bp and urine done if I want but I'd have to wait round for it and I ve been checking my BP every week at home, will see what happens.

60sPony · 03/06/2020 18:08

@1990shopefulftm you influenced me! Just ordered the jumpsuit!

KitKatKit · 03/06/2020 19:16

Ah loving the bump pics! Mine is a bit meh at the moment, wish it was lovely and round like you all!

@Mc3209 Good luck tomorrow!

@roarfeckingroar Well done for keeping up with the exercise, you've certainly put me to shame! I manage a 40 min walk 4/5 days a week and that's it!

KitKatKit · 03/06/2020 19:21

WRT clothes, I'm only comfy in stuff that doesn't have a waistband.
Jumpsuits and dresses have been fab in the warmer weather but it's suddenly a lot cooler than it has been. I'm dreading having to even put leggings on! I've got a pair of maternity joggers I got from H&M super early on and even they're annoying me.
I might just end up sitting around the house in my pants at some point 😂
