Loving everyone’s bumps!!

Haven’t been on much but catching up.. the heat the past week has been unreal I’ve been so tired and trying to entertain a 3 & 1 year old!! So glad to have rain today 🙈

Here’s my “little” twin bump! I’m 19 weeks tomorrow... eek I’m gonna be huge.

roarfeckingroar · 03/06/2020 21:15

@Lolllyf you made me properly giggle!

@FirstSurprise001 @SamK93
I'm also a size 6-8 FTM and my bump is pretty pronounced - I think being small amplifies it.

Gorgeous bump photos - might have made me just a little emotional.

Glooorb · 03/06/2020 22:59

Loving everyone's bump photos! ❤️

We just made our first purchase for baby - the maxi-cosi pebble pro car seat. Thank you again for the heads up with the 20% off!

Hi ladies I think I might have a UTI, for the last few days I've been having pain low down and I'm going every half an hour feeling like I really need a wee but when I get there its literally nothing and I've been feeling really sick and nauseous all night. I know it sounds silly but do I call my midwife and tell her I think I have it or the GP?

Lolllyf · 04/06/2020 08:36

@SamK93 I had a UTI picked up at my 16 week appointment but I didn’t actually have symptoms other than maybe needing to wee more often. I would contact your gp because midwives are not usually allowed to prescribe antibiotics. My urine was sent away and the midwife called me with the result and then asked me to make an appointment with the gp and sent the results there. I had antibiotics prescribed over phone consultation. You can always call your midwife for advice though!

DressingGown87 · 04/06/2020 09:07

@SamK93 I was the same, midwife checked my urine and it was clear. It was because she was/is positioned so low down, and was putting pressure on my bladder and pelvis. I would call them to check your urine and you can rule this out. My UTI at 8 weeks was picked up by the MW and she was able to prescribe my antibiotics. Hope your feeling better soon.

SamK93 · 04/06/2020 09:35

@DressingGown87 @Lolllyf thank you, I called the GP this morning to see if I could get an appointment they said I'd get a call back. I just got a call back from her now, she said she doesn't think I have a UTI and would be hesitant to give me antibiotics because I'm pregnant and said it's most likely pregnancy symptoms I did say it was my third baby and I know frequent urination is common but this felt different. She said drink loads of water, get some rest and if I feel any pain when passing urine or any severe abdomen pain to call back. I don't think they want anyone in the surgery unless it's an emergency really, probably why they cancelled my midwife checks too. I'll just have to take the GP's advice and see how I get on unfortunately.

Lolllyf · 04/06/2020 10:02

@SamK93 They really should offer to test your urine or send it away I would think as this is how it would be diagnosed.
All UTIs in pregnancy should be treated even if asymptomatic. That is why they send your urine away at the booking appointment - to check for asymptomatic infections.
I don't know how she can say she doesn't think you have one without checking your urine! I would call your maternity department. Many antibiotics are safe in pregnancy.
I think given that this is your third baby you would know the difference between frequent urination from pressure and possible UTI so I would trust your gut.

AdventureAhead · 04/06/2020 11:53

@roarfeckingroar that sounds like a great mix of strength and cardio. If your body is coping with that that sounds perfect.
I onlt say if your body is coping because I've been really struggling recently to get the balance right. I've been doing 4 x 25min yoga sessions a week and 3 or so runs (5km to 15km each, generally off road) per week, sometimes replacing a run with a 50k bike ride. I've reduced my pace from pre pregnancy pace and this is less distance than i normally would do but after 2 or 3 runs/rides now I've felt absolutely exhausted for a solid day. All have felt fine and relaxed when I've been running/riding so finding it really hard to know what is too much. Wondering if it's the heat more than the exercise itself, almost glad it's got a bit cooler now!
Love seeing everyone's bump photos! My bump at 19+4 is still pretty small, looking forward to my 20 week scan for a bit of reassurance that everything is ok.

@Glooorb we bought the pebble! The tiny seat is adorable when it arrives.

@AdventureAhead I'm really impressed with your running. I'm not a runner at the best of times, I prefer HIIT, so I'm sticking to power walking, yoga and weights. You're doing a huge amount and if your body is coping then ok, but if it's wiping you out then maybe roll it back. I know I was doing too much earlier in my pregnancy because I would be shattered after a heavy day.

LadyB90 · 04/06/2020 15:06

@roarfeckingroar
@Glooorb
I'm thinking about getting the pebble! The only thing is we go on long journeys a lot so I'm not sure whether to go for one that reclines in the car. It's such a minefield! May I ask what made the u guys to decide on the pebble?

Freddie1987 · 04/06/2020 15:14

Can't remember who else had their scan today but hope all goes well ☺️

I had mine a few hours ago and adding a little boy to the group!! 🥰

Was amazing to see their little body in such detail. Any other Leeds based people, if you're at the LGI they won't write the gender down unfortunately, also don't make the mistake of blurting it out in the car home when you weren't supposed to tell your boyfriend until you got on a Skype call with his parents! 🤦🏻‍♀️

60sPony · 04/06/2020 15:43

Congrats @Freddie1987! Little boys are so lovely... hope you had a great Skype call with the family revealing the gender

Glooorb · 04/06/2020 15:50

@LadyB90 we went for the Pebble Pro because it is one of the highest rated on Which? Reviews (I can check with my husband on the exact percentage, it's definitely a best buy though). We are also thinking about getting an adaptor which will allow us to attach the Pebble onto the buggy as well (we are thinking either the Bugaboo or uppababy). We are unlikely to be going for super long car trips in the first 6 months so the pebble would work fine for us.

Glooorb · 04/06/2020 15:52

@roarfeckingroar I can't wait to receive it! The pebble looks so cute and sometimes I think I need something concrete to reinforce that "omg we are having a baby!" Feeling

WaveStreet · 04/06/2020 16:10

Such lovely bumps everyone 😍 so nice to see!

I don't think i want to buy my car seat until I decide on a pram just to make sure. I was set on the cybex cloud z (lie flat) until i checked compatibility with my car and it doesn't fit even though my car is fairly new and decent size! Joie do a lie flat one but need to wait and check on pram compatibility.

@Freddie1987 yay a boy and glad your scan went well 💙 congrats! For some reason i was thinking you were team boy already.

1990shopefulftm · 04/06/2020 16:27

@Freddie1987 congratulations :)

UpsyDaisy1234 · 04/06/2020 16:40

@DressingGown87 Congratulations on your little girl! Beautiful scan! Gorgeous bumps everyone. Glad everyone is faring well. Goodluck to all the scans ahead.

Mc3209 · 04/06/2020 17:12

Had my scan today too, all is fine. I can start buying stuff now! 💃

Glad it went well @Mc3209, happy shopping!

roarfeckingroar · 04/06/2020 17:47

@LadyB90 the ratings were the best, especially for safety. Gosh it's just so cute though.

Congrats @Freddie1987 !! I'm also having a little boy and so excited. I'm struggling with names though.

roarfeckingroar · 04/06/2020 17:47

Congrats @Mc3209 wonderful news

WaveStreet · 04/06/2020 18:04

@roarfeckingroar boys names are hard I agree. I find with boys it's either very classic, faddy or pretty out there, with not much in between for me. There is literally one name we both like at the moment, makes life easy i suppose!

EmmaA96 · 04/06/2020 20:21

Finding it super hard to name another 2 girls after already using the names I love for my 2 now 😂

I have caved and bought a pregnancy pillow so can’t wait for that to come, is anyone else struggling to lay on their left side? I feel like I can’t do it and prefer my back which is weird as I’ve never done it!
