New to this forum so hope this is in the right place! So, I have just done a home pregnancy test and it’s definitely positive. I’m now full of a real mixture of emotions! Firstly, I am delighted! Me and my husband have been trying to conceive since November so this is something we are both delighted and excited about. However, due to the current health climate I also feel really worried and nervous! I was so excited to be able to share this experience with my mum and mother-in-law but due to them both being in high at risk groups, they are both now self isolating for 12 weeks and I guess this means I feel quite alone in it all in terms of female support. This is my first baby and so I have no clue.

I am a teacher and currently am expected to be in school at times but my understanding is that only people in their 3rd trimester need to be concerned.

In terms of the next step, do I just call the doctors as usual or have thing altered due to COVID-19?

Thanks in advance for your help 😊

I’m bloody starving this morning. I can’t seem to feel full!

MrsR87 · 03/04/2020 10:16

@LRHR I’m so tired too! I keep wondering is it because I’m pregnant or because I’m not in a routine at the minute!

@Klwb93 I’m sorry for your news. Sending a hug x

@LadyParsnip how beautiful!

I’m starting to feel impatient now as my appointment at maternity clinic isn’t until the end of the month.

It was also confirmed yesterday that my severely asthmatic mum does indeed now have COVID 19 so I’m trying my best not to stress too much but I am really worried!

Montyb123 · 03/04/2020 11:07

@Why1stheskyblu3 that's great news. Did they scan you?

Why1stheskyblu3 · 03/04/2020 11:12

Yeah, they did an ultrasound and everything is looking ok so far. I am 6+3, so a little further along than thought

Klwb93 · 03/04/2020 14:54

Thank you for all your messages, I rang the EPU and I have no HCG in blood so I miscarried, wishing you all a wonderful and happy pregnancy xxx

@Klwb93 so so sorry. You will have another chance and now it will be your rainbow baby! xxxxxxxxxx

LRHR · 06/04/2020 10:58

Has anyone got any new symptoms or tips for easing morning sickness?
I looked down this morning and saw this....
Don't know where it's come from 😬
I didn't have a perfectly flat tummy before but this bloating is ridiculous xxx

peachypetite · 06/04/2020 12:10

I have been waking up feeling starving and if I don’t eat properly it turns to sickness.

pablo2020 · 06/04/2020 12:58

Hello ladies. I am just looking for a bit of reassurance, I found out last week that I am pregnant, about 5 weeks. This will hopefully be our rainbow baby after suffering a miscarriage last year. I was really happy at first but since calling the doctors I feel so guilty, the receptionist couldn’t hide her shock that I had conceived during the CV crisis. I am so happy to have this miracle and desperately hoping everything goes to plan but I feel terribly guilty now for putting further strain on the NHS - anyone else feeling like this? Xx

Why1stheskyblu3 · 06/04/2020 13:08

Oh yes! I feel hugely guilty and worry about the world I will be bringing a child into. But our decision to have a family was made before CV (did such a time exist?) And I am trying to focus on this being a much needed positive at a time when everything is so unpredictable and stressful. Sorry that you were made to feel that way, and huge congrats!

Iwelumo11 · 06/04/2020 13:13

Hi all. Today I just found out that I am 4 weeks pregnant. 😊😊😊

Ive seen a few comments about concerns with coronavirus, does anybody have any advice? I'm scared to ring the GP right now!!!

pablo2020 · 06/04/2020 13:55

Thank you @Why1stheskyblu3 Smile I am glad to hear I am not the only one feeling that way. We have been hoping for our rainbow baby so trying to keep as positive as possible that every thing goes to plan 🌈

MrsERWor · 06/04/2020 14:22

I'm 7 weeks today and had my first appointment with my midwife today, took bloods, blood pressure etc. It was really reassuring (she was lovely too).
Can't wait for that first scan! 5 long weeks to wait!

LRHR · 07/04/2020 09:23

@MrsERWor I go for mine on Thursday. I'm tempted to book a private scan so my husband can come cause apparently NHS are requesting you go on your own xxx

peachypetite · 07/04/2020 09:28

Mine isn’t for another 2.5 weeks, I imagine I’ll be close to 10 weeks by that point. I think I’ll also book a private scan if husband isn’t allowed to 12 weeks.

MrsERWor · 10/04/2020 21:16

Following my first antenatal appointment last week, I got my letter for my dating scan through really quickly.
I'm booked in for 13th May, where I'll be 12 weeks! Exciting!!

All of the information supplied seemed totally normal in terms of my DH coming along. There were no warnings to suggest otherwise, so fingers crossed he can come in with me.

Just over 4 weeks to wait and it feels like forever away!

peachypetite · 10/04/2020 22:17

@MrsERWor my friend recently had hers and was only told upon arrival that her partner couldn’t go in with her, bit shit but might be worth ringing in advance to manage expectations

MrsR87 · 11/04/2020 00:19

@MrsERWor yes definitely worth checking. I check the hospital trusts page that my hospital belongs to and it says under current conditions that my husband would only be allowed in for the actual birth and no other appointments. I’m really hoping this changes but building myself up for the fact that it might not.

How is everyone feeling? I can't honestly remember feeling so exhausted in my other pregnancies. I'm struggling to keep my eyes open, I can't get out of bed till about 10am I end up napping most of the day and going to sleep at 9pm all night xx

MrsR87 · 12/04/2020 13:13

@LRHR this is my first pregnancy so nothing to compare it to but I am exhausted before I’ve even done anything. Also struggling to get out of bed! If I try and do anything productive, I have to stop for a break after about 10 mins! Yesterday I thought I’d take advantage of the nice weather and give both of our showers a really good going over and let the rooms air etc but I struggled to do even one of them. I ended up napping on a sun lounger outside!

I’m also really sick until around midday every day and then I get a second wave at about 5pm!

Hope everyone is feeling well and keeping safe. X
