New to this forum so hope this is in the right place! So, I have just done a home pregnancy test and it’s definitely positive. I’m now full of a real mixture of emotions! Firstly, I am delighted! Me and my husband have been trying to conceive since November so this is something we are both delighted and excited about. However, due to the current health climate I also feel really worried and nervous! I was so excited to be able to share this experience with my mum and mother-in-law but due to them both being in high at risk groups, they are both now self isolating for 12 weeks and I guess this means I feel quite alone in it all in terms of female support. This is my first baby and so I have no clue.

I am a teacher and currently am expected to be in school at times but my understanding is that only people in their 3rd trimester need to be concerned.

In terms of the next step, do I just call the doctors as usual or have thing altered due to COVID-19?

Thanks in advance for your help 😊

Hi everyone, I'm feeling a bit lost with everything that's been going on. So was just looking for a bit of support. I did a pregnancy test on 25th March and it was positive, but was a faint positive so I did another 5 every day just to double check. They are all coming up positive (I still don't believe it) and after doing lots of research online I have worked out your pregnancy starts the day of your first period so I have worked out I am just over 4 weeks, although some calculators say 5. I have rang the doctors and informed them. I then had a phone call from the midwife this morning, who said she would email me some forms but I haven't received anything. I'm just a bit anxious and impatient really as I suppose I want that confirmation that I am actually pregnant! So I have ordered a clearblue test that tells me how many weeks I am and just to confirm (AGAIN) that I am pregnant. But that doesn't come till Friday and I'm getting impatient. My husband and I have been trying since December. So to find out I am pregnant is amazing but not knowing and not having many symptoms, other than lots of weeing, it just doesnt feel real yet! Anyone else feel like that or just me?

CurlyMummy1912 · 31/03/2020 21:24

@Firsttimemom22 no need to panic at all. Breathe, be patient. If your tests are positive then you’re definitely pregnant! Congratulations! Your symptoms will start to appear, believe me. Don’t wish them too soon! Haha! I’m 9 weeks now and only seeing my midwife this week for the first time xx

Firsttimemom22 · 31/03/2020 21:49

Thank you! Just such an isolating time with everything that's going on. Just needed someone to talk to. So thank you for responding. Congratulations on your pregnancy too Smile what symptoms do you currently have? I think I just panicked and don't want the midwifes to forget about me. I'm just overacting and worrying for nothing more than likely. Just very keen and stupidly trying to hurry things along, which I'm sure I will regret later down the line xx

Is anyone taking multivitamins? I’m just taking folic acid + vitamin d at the moment

Kodiak83 · 31/03/2020 22:06

Just found out I am pregnant with No3, I reckon I’m 5 weeks. We had tried for a third since December but basically decided last week we should maybe stop given Unknowns of the current COVID situation. Typically I found out four days later! I’m 37 with an autoimmune condition so already isolating away. I’m really nervous about drs appts and scans and any hospital contact, just want to stay cushioned away! I know it’ll be a 3rd cs birth for me due to labour difficulties with my first two so that’s scary too. Just have to hope it is better by Nov/Dec. So far feeling mostly fine. Tired and a bit moody, though that could be the home schooling/home working situation we’re coping with!! My first two are 6 & 2.5

Firsttimemom22 · 31/03/2020 22:31

I'm the same as you. That's all I'm taking but I'm trying to eat lots of green veg. Will maybe speak to the midwife see if they recommend anything extra.

Addler · 31/03/2020 22:49

@LRHR Thank you, I feel like this has turned me into a crazy person! Second pregnancy, but it'll be my first baby (hopefully!)

CurlyMummy1912 · 31/03/2020 23:03

@Firsttimemom22

I’m taking pregnacare but keeping up my folic acid as well. Symptoms are sore boobs and the most horrible rollercoaster waves of nausea 🤢

Firsttimemom22 · 31/03/2020 23:26

I look forward to that! Hmm ooh I think there is pregnacare in the mom to be pack I have coming tomorrow so will start taking that too. Its nice to know I'm not alone. So, thanks for the support I appreciate it. Congratulations to everyone else too. Let's get through this together Smile

LRHR · 01/04/2020 08:31

@Addler oh no ☹️ no wonder you are on edge.
Seeing lots of love

@Kodiak83 this is my 3rd baby too but mine are 12 and 8 and I agree the homeschool is really taking it's toll.
I'm absolutely exhausted I went to bed Monday night at 7pm woke up at 2pm on Tuesday, back in bed about 7.30pm last night and I've forced myself to get up this morning but my eyes are so heavy xxx

MrsR87 · 01/04/2020 14:24

@peachypetite I’m just taking folic acid at the moment! This is my first pregnancy so I can’t wait for my first appointment. Just found out my mum has been rushed to hospital this morning so I am trying to keep calm! 😥

Hi ladies

Hope you don't mind me jumping on here, I found out on Mother's Day that I'm pregnant with baby number 2. I've been having really bad waves of nausea and cramps.. one minute I'm hungry the next minute I feel sick. I'm absolutely exhausted no matter how much I sleep at night I'm so tired all day, luckily I'm off work at the moment due to CV. Ever ache and cramp scares me since I had a miscarriage last year but fingers crossed this baby sticks 🤞🏼 hope all you expecting mummies are doing okay, I'm around 5+3 just feeling very lonely xx

LRHR · 01/04/2020 15:57

@Klwb93 I'm so sorry for your miscarriage.❤️

I found out Mother's Day too and I'm 5+2 😊

This is my 3rd baby.

I'm the same, I've got horrendous nausea, no actual sickness yet but just feel horrid and so so tired xxx

MrsR87 · 01/04/2020 19:21

@Klwb93 congratulations! I am sooo tired too! It’s reassuring to read that others have the same symptoms!

Got an appointment at the hospital tomorrow morning, the waves of pain are now excruciating and when they ease off, it is still painful and uncomfortable. No bleeding yet, but I am just not able to walk around as it brings the pain on. Just don't know what to think. 🙈

LadyParsnip · 02/04/2020 22:34

Had an early private scan today as I wanted my partner to be able to come - one baby in the right place with a clear little heartbeat! Here's the pic! They said I'm 9 weeks and 3 days. I was so nervous on the way as your brain likes to think of the worst case scenario but all was well. Also had booking in appointment with the midwife which was good. Smile

Hope you're all okay xx

Just found out...
Firsttimemom22 · 02/04/2020 23:40

@LadyParsnip

Congratulations!! You must be soo excited. I can't wait to have my first scan. Think I may get a private one too. Do you mind me asking how much it cost? I'm only 4+4 so got a little while to wait yet x

Klwb93 · 02/04/2020 23:51

I had to go and have a blood test done to check my hcg levels as I had a dark red discharge the other day and I've taken a pregnancy test and it was negative 😔 just feeling low so sorry to dampen all your stories with mine, hope you are all well xxx

LadyParsnip · 03/04/2020 08:05

@Klwb93 I'm so sorry to hear that. Hang in there. It's such early days this thread should be for difficulties as well. It's a fragile time for these embryos. I know it's so heartbreaking to have problems and worries. Whatever happens you will be okay and things have a way of working themselves out. Maybe your body knew there was something not quite right? You will have more chances and you will get the baby you long for. Lots of love xxxxx

peachypetite · 03/04/2020 08:13

@Addler how are you doing?

peachypetite · 03/04/2020 08:19

@Klwb93 how are you doing? Really sorry to hear that

Addler · 03/04/2020 09:09

@peachypetite Yesterday was the first day I started to feel positive again, I still wasn't having any symptoms but I was still getting positive tests, even if they're not as dark as I thought they would be. Then last night I went to the loo and the toilet paper was tinged pink when I wiped.

It hasn't developed during the night so I really don't know what to think. I know sometimes it can be nothing, but when I add that to the symptoms disappearing it doesn't paint a positive picture.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up, as I'd like to be prepared for the worst.

How are you getting on?

Addler · 03/04/2020 09:09

@Klwb93 I'm so sorry Thanks

LRHR · 03/04/2020 09:43

@LadyParsnip congratulations how amazing ❤️

@Klwb93 I'm so so sorry to hear this, your time will come, sending lots of love xxx

@Addler hopefully you'll start seeing something happen soon.

I've had a terrible week, I've practically been asleep since Monday at 7pm I am so tired and can't shift it, today is the first day I've actually got up.
I thought I'd be prepared for this with it being my third but I really really wasn't ☹️
I'm at the midwife on Thursday xx

LRHR · 03/04/2020 09:44

@Why1stheskyblu3 hope today goes ok for you xxx
