New to this forum so hope this is in the right place! So, I have just done a home pregnancy test and it’s definitely positive. I’m now full of a real mixture of emotions! Firstly, I am delighted! Me and my husband have been trying to conceive since November so this is something we are both delighted and excited about. However, due to the current health climate I also feel really worried and nervous! I was so excited to be able to share this experience with my mum and mother-in-law but due to them both being in high at risk groups, they are both now self isolating for 12 weeks and I guess this means I feel quite alone in it all in terms of female support. This is my first baby and so I have no clue.

I am a teacher and currently am expected to be in school at times but my understanding is that only people in their 3rd trimester need to be concerned.

In terms of the next step, do I just call the doctors as usual or have thing altered due to COVID-19?

Thanks in advance for your help 😊

Yeah, because of CV been told I am not wanted at work. Despite the fact I am otherwise healthy, contact with the public is already very limited and could easily be limited more and I am not isolating from OH and he is working. I have desperately asked to work, if only from a financial pov. But they are refusing based on 'their interpretation' of the recommendations.

Yeah, the friend (well, colleague, clearly) thing has hit me hard, just feel a bit down and isolated and this is not at all how I wanted this all to play out.

On the other side my OH is being great, he is fascinated by it all, keeps asking what's happening now, what size is it and is going yoga with me when my joints are fine. And I am getting lots of hugs with the dog (she is 18 months old...this can be a good or bad thing!)

I know what you mean MrsER, it's just a pause on your career or a few years and maybe it will take a different direction, mine will, but I also think I will be a different person as well, and maybe better at my job? Better able to ignore the bullshit politics and get on with it

LRHR · 27/03/2020 08:27

Morning Ladies, hope you don't mind me jumping on. I'm 5weeks too with #3
I'm 29 and have an autoimmune disorder so will be isolating for 12weeks.
I spoke with my doctor and they said it's just a precaution because the Virus is so new they don't know the effects on early pregnancies so it's best to be safe.

Congratulations to everyone ❤️

LRHR · 27/03/2020 08:32

@CurlyMummy1912 I already look pregnant too (also have ibs) it's my 3rd baby though.
It's great I don't have to breathe in anymore 😂😂

LRHR · 27/03/2020 08:44

Speaking of symptoms I've got constantly erect, sore nipples, my hips and lower tummy ache and got a horrible taste in my mouth.
I've was spotting yesterday.
I've got a midwife appointment on 9th April xxx

cupoftea84 · 27/03/2020 09:35

Hi ladies, 4+4 here with number 2.

Trying to work at home with number 1 off nursery so running around, trying to grab my laptop etc.

I just keep reminding myself I'm super lucky and it'll be nice to spend so much time with number 1. Being at home for the morning sickness (all day nausea if it's like last time) will be helpful as well.

A very odd time to be pregnant. Very exciting for us all though!

Lozzyloo86 · 27/03/2020 10:22

Hi to you ladies!
I am in the same situation, just found out yesterday that I’m 6 weeks pregnant and feeling terrified! The pregnancy is planned, but it’s still a bit scary, especially with the Covid situ 😩 I’m 34, so far I have told my mum via FaceTime 🤣
Anyway, I have just joined here so that I could get involved with this thread as you lovely ladies are all in the same boat...
Going to ring my GP today, although as you say imagine they are really busy! X

MrsR87 · 29/03/2020 16:11

It’s great to see more ladies joining in.

I feel quite tired at the moment and have a sore back but other than that I fell fine at the moment.

Still taking the time to look after myself when I am working from home. Making sure I stay well away from people when I am at work.

I am sad to hear some of your stories and the way some of your employers are treating you. Sending some socially distanced hugs out x

I self referred and have my booking appt set for the end of April. I’m feeling quite tired and I’m not doing anything (wfh but it’s dead) so I can’t imagine how I would be feeling if I were working!

AlexaT · 29/03/2020 16:31

I hope I don’t get backlash on here for copying pasting this link, but can anyone help me with my question too please?

Thank you

LRHR · 29/03/2020 18:06

How are you all feeling?
I've started feeling nauseous every evening for the last few days and have slept most of the day today 😬 xxx

MrsERWor · 29/03/2020 19:10

I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow and the nausea is increasing by the day, and hangs around all day (sorry for tmi, but sick keeps coming half way up my oesophagus and then goes back down - grim). Absolutely shattered and feeling quite sore and achy all over - especially those boobies. Lost my appetite quite a bit too, probably to do with the nausea. But feeling quite content all things considered.

Still haven't heard from the hospital since completing the online referral. Hope to hear this week.

Also, I was FaceTiming my mum today, and my step dad popped in to say hi and both of them (in a totally non-weird way) commented/joked on how huge my boobs we're looking and actually asked if I was preggers haha (they're hoping I am)! Had to shrug it off and make a joke but I'm convinced they've guessed already! Busted! Haha. We still want to wait until 12 weeks before officially confirming anything though.

Any gossip from you ladies?

MrsR87 · 29/03/2020 19:39

@MrsERWor ha ha. My mum is still trying to figure out how to video call so I’m safe on that front for a little while longer. I am just praying that I can actually tell her face to face when the time comes!

I am glad I am not the only one who is feeling tired.

Still avoiding morning sickness...

Worried, hopefully for no reason, but had unbelievable cramping last night...take your breath away struggle to walk pain and today zero pregnancy symptoms, all gone! But I haven't had any bleeding so hopefully it's nothing. Will be calling for some advice tomorrow, hoping I am just being a worrier for no reason

CurlyMummy1912 · 30/03/2020 08:26

@Why1stheskyblu3 hopefully nothing but call your doctor and get a scan to put your mind at ease. Sending love. Xxxx

LRHR · 30/03/2020 08:31

@Why1stheskyblu3 I've been having the cramping too and I think it's normal.
If you aren't bleeding it should be nothing to worry about 😊 but if you are concerned check with your doc xxx
This is baby #3 for me so hopefully I can be of help to all you first time mummies ❤️❤️xxx

MrsERWor · 30/03/2020 09:07

Looking on the bright side, the government thinks we will hopefully be "back to normal" in around 6 months time (if we all behave). So that means us November and December mums will hopefully have a semi-normal, if not totally normal, birth (with our partners! I hope).

I just can't imagine going through it without my DH. Also, very devastating for him too. Especially with it being our first!

Fingers crossed!!!

Why1stheskyblu3 · 30/03/2020 09:30

They said to keep taking pain relief and that they won't see me before 6 weeks anyway. If it is still happening then, to call them back. In the mean time, if I have a heavy bleed to go to a and e. Have had a fair amount of cramping, but it's all felt like an achey, stretching rather than a sharp stabbing. Hopefully it's nothing. Thanks for the messages 😊

Montyb123 · 30/03/2020 14:35

@Why1stheskyblu3 I had the exact same yesterday, really sore pain in my right hand side for almost the whole day and through the night. Was totally worried and thinking the worse but I also didn't have any other symptoms or bleeding or anything. It's totally eased up today, feel so much better and it's just a dull ache sometimes. I haven't phoned my gp or hospital as I feel better today and I wasn't sure with everything that's going on who to even call

MrsR87 · 30/03/2020 14:45

Spoke too soon about the morning sickness. The cat vomited this morning...I am usually fine with these things but it set me off 🤢

I’m 9 weeks tomorrow and my family don’t know although my two sisters are also pregnant! My mum and dad have no idea they’ll have THREE new grandchildren by Xmas! I’ve got my booking in appointment with the midwife on Thursday but because of the situation I have to go to the surgery, wait in my car until she calls me in and she will just do my bloods. The rest of the appointment will take place over the phone. Shame but I’m still excited for the app as it makes it all more real! Anyone know what will happen with 12 week scans? I’m guessing we can still have them but maybe partners won’t be allowed? Not sure.

Addler · 31/03/2020 08:34

No idea what's going on with me at the moment. Early scan last night but couldn't see anything other than a yolk sac, which as I'm supposed to be 6 weeks today has worried me.

Plus Sunday's FRER, while darker than the one I took 10 days ago, doesn't look as dark as I thought it would by now. I took another one this morning and it's lighter, which is what happened when I first got my positive. No idea why my FMU seems to give a weaker result than afternoon when I've been drinking lots throughout the day.

As most of my symptoms have gone now and haven't really had any for a few days I'm prepared for the worst.

MrsERWor · 31/03/2020 13:01

Hi ladies, does anyone have any idea on what I can or should do?
I am currently so exhausted I can barely function. I'm supposed to be working from home, but can't find any motivation or brain power to be of any use. I just want to nap.

How do women cope with this?!

LRHR · 31/03/2020 14:07

@MrsERWor I've literally not long woke up I'm am absolutely exhausted, kids have had to miss home school today cause I feel like I've been drugged I'm struggling to keep my eyes open.
There is nothing you can do other than rest, it doesn't last forever just got to get through the first few weeks, drink plenty and eat well xxx

@CurlyMummy1912 OMG that's absolutely amazing. Your parents are not going to know what to do with themselves. How special to share pregnancy with your sisters ❤️ Good Luck with everything xxx

LRHR · 31/03/2020 14:10

@Addler you may just not be as far gone as you thought, the only thing you can do is wait until your next scan (I'm assuming you will have one at 12 weeks)
Is this your first baby?
Pregnancy hormones are a crazy thing and our bodies are changing everyday.
Try and keep calm and get plenty of rest, fingers crossed for you ❤️ xxx
