Ah - see what I did there? [wink}
Hope it's ok to start a new thread. Computer couldn't cope with the old one.

Ok here, but am on operation not-go-mad today as have been feeling pretty down. Friend over this morning and will waddle into town this afternoon. This will render me exhausted and will then sleep/graze until bedtime.
Have also watched far too many baby progs on Discovery Health. Have become an armchair expert in giving birth ("ooh, you don't want to do that love"). Will get my come uppance soon enough!!!! Eek!!

Thanks Geogteach - big dodge-the-induction labour vibes to you, me and our Piglit

The moon is looking good - am howling like a good 'un

Seriously, thank you sooo much Pupuce - loads of food for thought here. You are a star.

pupuce · 14/10/2004 21:12

My pleasure piglit... have a good birth

redshoes · 14/10/2004 21:12

sorry to butt in but just wanted to say, geogteach that happened to me with my third baby, I fought off induction for 2 weeks then got exhausted and agreed to be booked in on day 15;I went into labour naturally in the early hours of that morning and had a quick easy pain-relief-free birth...no sign of postmaturity in baby either. I think if I go late again (I am due on 21st Dec) I would try and hold my nerve - those due dates are so arbitrary. It is difficult though with all those medical professionals scring you and being so huge and wanting to see the baby in your arms...I do sympathise x

redshoes · 14/10/2004 21:13

scaring even

hi ladies just checking in for the evening, how are you all? getting anxious and cheesed off by the sounds of things just like me

nothing happening here

ps congratulations florence, very happy for you and i love the name v much

hi turtle - im due on saturday (16th) just for the stats and this is my 2nd pregnancy cos i have a 2 year old girl!

Distracted · 14/10/2004 21:44

Congratulations Florence, well done - see you on the babies thread (when there's time)

Sorry for my absence from this thread by the way, I feel quite guilty after all the support you lot have given me when I joined the thread late. Finding it really difficult to find time to get on the computer at all at the mo' tho as things are rather difficult right now.

Sending labour vibes to all of you hoping to avoid induction - good luck (and good luck Turtle in getting one sooner rather than later - or preferrably a spontaneous early delivery)

beansprout · 15/10/2004 08:01

Distracted - no worries, we know it suddenly gets v busy once dbs arrive! It's up to us to get our butts over to that parenting thread anyway!!!

Well, so much for the moon stuff... Have to see Doc this morning. Dp has suggested we go and see the hospital we'll be at so at least we can picture where we will be if it comes to induction. Ho hum... Never thought I would still be sitting here by now!

Hope everyone else is ok.

Still here. Ho hum....

Hope everyone is ok.

Toots · 15/10/2004 10:03

Distracted, Please don't feel guilty. You need the support, and you deserve it, and we're all happy to give it

I've scanned the ten month pregnancy thing and I have to say (look away the prudish, although don't think that will be an issue) I had a very healthy - solo - sex life in the week or so before DD2 put in an appearance

FYI I went in at 42 weeks and was induced two days later. I'm not sure I could have waited another day tbh, but perhaps if I'd read this stuff I would have.

beansprout · 15/10/2004 10:27

Right, so much for moon howling {sad] off to the hospital to discuss induction. Have an 11am appt but have been advised to take lunch (!), so could be some time....

Piglit - we will actually stop being pregnant at some point, right?

Hello everyone, what a lot of incredibly useful info/messages since yesterday! Turtle, thanks for doing detail, I am expecting on 24th and it is 3rd one and I'm 39.

Pupuce (are you a midwife) the stuff about induction is so useful, I am not going to be hassled about my due date as it is guessed by the 14 week scan anyway because I forgot my dates for my last period.

I hope I am not joining in this group too late for you who've been together for months but it is very nice to see what's going on for everyone.

I'm feeling Ok and have got baby stuff sort of ready so just trying to eat well and relax as much as poss - easier for me than some of you as my kids are much older and out all day.

Well done to Isabel and her mum, I also had that name on my longlist, it is beautiful.

Good luck everyone else and looking fwd to next updates...

Turtle35 · 15/10/2004 10:47

Gosh it's all very frustrating for you poor overdue Mooses! Good luck Bean and don't let them scare monger you. I would insist on a scan if you feel up to it.

Also I was thinking maybe we should start a new thread as this one is getting very long with the first post incl all of our due dates?

Shall we call it October Moose Madness - howling at the moon part 5?

pupuce · 15/10/2004 15:36

Samuella - I am a doula.
