Ah - see what I did there? [wink}
Hope it's ok to start a new thread. Computer couldn't cope with the old one.

Ok here, but am on operation not-go-mad today as have been feeling pretty down. Friend over this morning and will waddle into town this afternoon. This will render me exhausted and will then sleep/graze until bedtime.
Have also watched far too many baby progs on Discovery Health. Have become an armchair expert in giving birth ("ooh, you don't want to do that love"). Will get my come uppance soon enough!!!! Eek!!

Well made a play date for my kids at the soft play area on my due date, I have no expectation of it being on time. People keep asking when i'm due and when I say next week they all say 'I thought you were going to say in 3 months' - well i'm not bloody waiting that long!

sooz31 · 30/09/2004 20:57

Hi all, sorry for being so c''p at posting. If and when I get the time to myself I nap - this is sadly getting rarer since DS seems to be out growing his daytime nap and it fast becomes a battle of wits, which is even more exhausting.

Anyway, had to post tonight as tomorrow is my due date! No expectation that anything will occur since DB not in the slightest bit engaged. One more appointment with the consultant and if still not engaged next Tuesday, the cs is booked (they won't induce as too risky on previous cs scar). Keeping my fingers crossed that this could all still change but TBH, think it's unlikely.

Other than that I've been fairly upbeat (today). Have had my moments though since the house is nowhere near 'ready' and there are days I despair at the idea of coping with DB and DS, and house chaos.

Really excited for all of us too. Was looking at pictures of DS as newborn - my heart bursts with how beautiful he was (and of course he still is in a sticky, toddler kind of way!). So however DB arrives, I just can't wait.

Anyway, must find dinner - the sooner I can put up these hobbit feet of mine the better. Hope to be able to post again soon, but if I don't get the chance in the next few days, good luck to us all... x

cazzybabs · 30/09/2004 21:07

Can I come and join you - was due on 26 th of Sept but no sign as yet. Have induction talk with doctor booked for next Thurs, but hopefully baby will make appearence before then as its all engaged just slight skew wiff - have been sitting on dp's ball (his big gym ball - nothing dodgy). Am leaking colestrum but haven't had a show yet. Would like a waterbirth.

Am 26 and have 1 dd (2 and 3 months) who was born 10 days late. Am a bit scared of the prospect of 2 children.

Toots · 30/09/2004 21:47

Welcome Cazzybabs! Hope you had a good old bounce tonight. There are some gym ball fans on this thread. Hope you're feeling in good spirits and baby comes soon.

beansprout · 01/10/2004 09:09

OMG

It's October.......

Welcome Cazzybabs - am here bouncing as I type...! Good to hear from you too Sooz.
Have now outgorwn pretty much ALL of my mat. clothes. Have one pair of over the bump trousers that now have to sit under my bump and that's about it. Doesn't do much for a girl's spirits, have to say

Turtle35 · 01/10/2004 09:41

Welcome Cazzybabs, sorry you're late, that must be annoying. Bean you might first.........

off to have a haircut and manicure, feel I deserve it seen as how I have come all this way actually have a damn wedding tomorrow and don't know how I am going to survive this even though they are making special provisions for me with my own chair etc so I can sit during champagne and canapes which will no doubt go on for hours......

Toots · 01/10/2004 09:43

Darling Miss Bean, you are clearly a whippet, so apart from the immediate problem of not having anything to wear....eeeeeeeeaaasy now.

We now have milk that goes past my due date. I might be having it in post-baby tea. Flipping heck.

Do you know what? I still haven't had feedback/notes on one of my projects, despite three calls? I am started to get very peed off with them. If they're stopping my baby coming, then why I oughta, I oughta, I oughta eeeeeasssssy now.

Turtle, following your surprise, have decided I am not going to cry at all today.

Toots · 01/10/2004 09:46

Following your surprise as in reaction, not gift Turtle, does that make sense.

Think you should be outrageous at the wedding. Sit on your chair and shout things - 'dinner would be good, now', 'let's get to the point of this speech shall we'.

piglit · 01/10/2004 10:08

Seeing "Friday 1st October" has really freaked me out! Due date is now 5 days away and my level of anxiety is off the scale. Have been nesting like mad this week but no doubt db will be late!

I hope you are all ok and fingers crossed for lots of on time dbs and easy births.

florenceuk · 01/10/2004 10:10

Great news Toots! Those babies seem to be getting the message.

Still feeling sick - I think my hormones have probably stepped up a notch and maybe this is why I feel queasy. Also was horrible wicked witch to DS who ran up the stairs and hid when I tried to put his shoes on for nursery - which seeing as I've had two days off without having to look after him is a bit mean. I just want to lie around actually and ignore things that need to be done (like tax return)....

BTW my wardrobe is reduced to two pairs of stretchy trousers - everything else is too small. They make my bump itch though.

Good luck to all, waiting for blow by blow account if any of you actually go into labour soon!

cazzybabs · 01/10/2004 11:20

Well I only have one pair of trousers that fit which makes washing and drying very difficult. My best friend is coming from Sweeden today which is very exciting and means I won't have to worry about dd being looked after. I still haven't actually packed my bag and am off to be reduced to a lifetime of poverty and debt - well I am off to sign our morgage agreemnet so hopefully we can move ASAP.

Today I bribed dd with a teletubbies video so I could get her ready for nursery.

Toots · 01/10/2004 11:49

Harman, I'm not surprised you haven't got names and bags packed what with all you've been going through.

Florence I was witch last night with dd. She'd had her brand new pjs on from about 3pm, which lulled me into a false sense of security. Precisely 30 seconds before being put into bed she wanted to wear something else.....

I won

Like you, also have flaming tax stuff to sort out.

Seem to be doing OK on the trouser front, but did buy/inherit enormous ones.

Have just managed to get some work done and e-mail it. Am feeling quite chuffed.

beansprout · 01/10/2004 12:20

Turtle - agree with Toots- you should be outrageous at the wedding (on the basis that it is outrageous that you have to go). I want your waters to break while the vows are being taken, at the very least.

Feel like we are all in a plane with our parachutes on and I'm getting waaay too near to the door....

Toots · 01/10/2004 13:35

Beansprout. Wait for the inflight meal. Or if you really think you're jumping before they come round with food, can I have yours? (have massive appetite currently)

beansprout · 01/10/2004 14:18

Toots - you are more than welcome to my inflight food, although i warn you, I ain't business class so we are probably talking cheap peanuts here.

One thing that is good at the moment is that if I call dp at work, whoever answers the phone gets all "ooh, ooh, I'll put you through" antsy. I feel all important for a moment, and then I realise that they are probably a bit disappointed to find out that I am not actually in pain yet.....

Have been clearing out kitchen cupboards and found 2 packets of Hula Hoops at the back... result!!

OP posts:
florenceuk · 01/10/2004 14:36

Well, I can tell you what was in my inflight meal today: a chicken and bacon sandwich, a pain au chocolate, an apple, and about a 1/3 of those round icrecream containers - OK maybe a bit more than 1/3.... Not perhaps the best thing for my nausea but DB was demanding icecream!

Have ordered buggy board today - here's hoping DS actually uses it.

huppa · 01/10/2004 15:30

Wow,, only a couple of days away from the computer and there´s so much to catch up on.
Welcome melsmum and cazzybabs.
Welcome back harman - it´s really good to hear from you again. Not surprised you haven´t sorted out much. I hope you´ve got people to help when you finally get into the house. For what it´s worth we know we´re expecting a boy, but still haven´t managed to agree on a name.
sooz31 - any sign of baby appearing today?
Hope those of you who´ve been feeling ill are on the mend.
I had doctors appointment today and everything seems fine, but no sign of anything imminent about to happen. The doctor had a really heavy cold, so I hope I´ve managed to avoid catching that. It´s the last thing I need at the moment.
Hope you all have a relaxing weekend ( can´t believe you´ve got to go to a wedding Turtle)and I´ll keep checking in regularly to see who´s going to be first.

Toots · 01/10/2004 15:58

Just rang my mum up who is due here in quarter of an hour and asked her if she could bring 'The Amber Spyglass' with her (which is the third in Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy which I've been gorging on whilst on my hands and knees). Bless her, she thought I'd gone into labour and spent a few baffled seconds wondering what I'd want an amber spyglass for - Hot water! Towels! Amber spyglass! Mind you, whatever gets you through eh.

Turtle35 · 01/10/2004 16:28

Just got a load of hair cut off, now I feel like it makes my face look even chubbier and accentuates the double chin....

I had a dream my waters broke at the church... oh God I hope this isn't any sort of preminition.

I can't for the life of me squeeze my feet into a nice pair of shoes and have along pg dress, can't possibly wear loafers and look like Annie Hall!!!

Why did I ever agree to do this??? I am as mad as mad thing these days.

Why am I getting some alarming kicks way around my side, almost into my back???

Can anyone tell me if the bleeding gums, swollen feet/hands, heartburn, aches and pains, restless legs go once the baby is born - Oh God please say yes......

There is a chocolate eclair in the fridge with my name on it....

geogteach · 01/10/2004 19:48

turtle - in my experience heartburn goes immediately, swelling less so (came home from hospital in slippers as still couldn't wear shoes!)
Seem to have more energy but still not nesting, did take pity on DD who has no winter clothes and looking particularly sad in her brothers cast offs so dragged both round the shops to buy her some clothes - I hope they fit as i'm not sure the energy burst will stretch to taking them back.
What do you think my chances of making friends 40th on the 21st are?

Toots · 01/10/2004 20:50

Geogteach - slim, although you might be too by then

Turtle -kicks at the side might mean baby is really nicely aligned with it's back down your tummy.....anyone else have a view on that?

Distracted · 01/10/2004 22:10

Hello - can I join this thread too? I was due 27th September and with Cazzybabs was the last left posting on the September thread as everyone else has popped now!

I was 10 days late last time, so suppose it's only to be expected (similar to Cazzybabs). I did go and have a sweep this afternoon and my last labour was induced by a sweep, but think this one may have been too early. Last time was on day 8 and today is only 4 days over - said cervix was still quite posterior and thick, although they were able to do it. Also 1-2 cm, but that could be permanent state since last baby apparently.

If I'm still around on Monday I've got to have another sweep then and am booked for induction now next Friday! Think if I get that far I might try to find out about reflexology as I've read that's quite effective.

Like some of the rest of you I'm virtually out of all my maternity clothes now too and have been for last few weeks - just 2 pairs of trousers, so continually washing one pair to wear next day. This is my second pg and I've put on lots more weight than first time - at least 3 stone, vs 2 stone last time, so will probably still be wearing my mat. clothes for rather some time to come !

piglit · 02/10/2004 09:01

Welcome Distracted and Cazzybabas! I hope it won't be too much longer for you.

My hands and feet are getting fatter by the day. Apparently I also have carpel tunnel syndrome now as well. Sheesh.

I hope everyone has a relaxing and pain/discomfort-free weekend. I can't wait for the first October db!!

Turtle35 · 02/10/2004 11:28

Welcome to October thread Distracted, although I am sure you don't want to be here it's a great thread. Sure hope it happens for you quickly, you'd think with it being the 2nd DB that your body would behave.

I went to reflexology during the week for back problems but understand it's great for stimulating labour. It works directly on the hormones your uterus needs to get contactions going. I would strongly recommend you try it. I also understand your waters are more likely to break when you are relaxed so feet up and take it easy.
