Due June 2020 - Baby #1

Hello all, after 9 years of unexplained infertility with 1 failed round of IVF in April I am finally pregnant!

Currently in my 7th week (6 weeks 3 days) and due 1st June 2020!

I need some advice because my anxiety about being pregnant is really affecting me and that something might me wrong.

There are times I feel pain that comes and goes in my lower abdomen. Sometimes on the left and other times on the right but mostly on the left. The pain is not by the hips its lower down to the left of the pubic hair line so still quite central but to the left and right of it.

My GP appointment isn't until Tues where I guess they will refer me to a midwife at the hospital.

Should I go for an early scan?

The only people who know I'm pregnant apart from DH are those on the Conception thread and I think the burden of this is overwhelming and doesn't feel like its quite sunk in yet!

OMG I feel exactly like you when I have been assured that there is nothing wrong. I'm due 5th June with my first!!!

I am waiting for my midwife appointment but going to have an early scan privately just to put myself at ease!

Smiffette · 06/10/2019 17:52

Hi @Lucindaa @Makino Smile
I got my positive test on Friday, I am only 4 weeks today based on last period date!

I haven't been to GP yet to fill out form to see the Midwife, I will do that next week.

Feeling excited but very anxious as this is my first (I'm 35 so an older mum I guess Confused) and I had a MC at the end of April. So I am definitely booking an early scan to put my mind at ease as it was a missed MC so didn't find out until I was 11+2 which was heartbreaking.

The nurse said wait until I am 8 weeks before having an early scan so I am hoping the next 4 weeks goes quick!

I think I am due 15th June based on own calcs look forward to having the dating scan though to know for sure!
xx

@Smiffette Congratulations!! I'm 36 and been trying to for the past 5 years.

I'm 6 weeks and due to go to GP tomorrow. I never realised how stressful the 1st trimester is after waiting so many years to finally become pregnant!

I even did a pregnancy test yesterday morning because I wasnt feeling anything. Its crazy

Smiffette · 06/10/2019 20:14

Thanks @Makino

I know, I keep thinking once the first trimester is done I'll relax..... however I don't think that will be the case!

Lucindaa · 07/10/2019 12:19

@Makino Congratulations, we could be in the same week! I might do the same. I'm sure nothing is wrong but having waited all these years I'm not pregnant until I get out of this dreaded 1st trimester. x

@Smiffette I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage and I'm sending all the positive vibes your way! I'm literally counting the days and getting to each completed week as a milestone. I will take your advise and get a scan done in my 9th week. x

Welcome @AH16 Smile

I did a self refer thing yesterday on my hospital website.... hopefully hear from the midwife in the next week or two... it said the first appointment usually takes place between 8-10 weeks! That feels ages away at the moment 🙈

AH16 · 08/10/2019 17:06

@Lucindaa

How did your appointment go? Well I hope x

@Smiffette
When are you due?x

KateF1107 · 08/10/2019 17:23

I got my BFP on Friday so due 7th June! This is baby number 2 for me, have a daughter who almost 3! 5 weeks 3 days today! X

Smiffette · 08/10/2019 19:13

@AH16 by my calculations I am due 15th June! Although when I did my test it said 2-3 weeks and I was expecting it to say 1-2 as tested 2 days before my period was due.... so wouldnt surprise me if I was slightly earlier than then!

Do you find the clear blue digital tests accurate on the weeks given?

Lucindaa · 09/10/2019 14:19

So went to the GP, was odd actually being able to tell someone. She recommended I have an early scan as we have been trying for 9 years and 1 failed IVF in April. I am worried, I even did another pregnancy test which is just stupid. having waited so long I just expect something to go wrong.

@AH16 tell me about it, currently counting the days lol x

@KateF1107 Congrats!! Another early June. We are all summer babies x

Congratulations! Hope you are feeling well.

@Smiffette

I found them to be accurate with me. How are you feeling?

@Lucindaa

Whens your scan? Hope you are well. X

Smiffette · 09/10/2019 18:12

@AH16 I am actually feeling quite well at the moment, had some lower back pain and tiredness and just this last day my boobs have become sensitive. I'm sure it will all change at some point!!

How about you?

Lucindaa · 11/10/2019 13:28

@AH16 still waiting for an appointment. I was actually looking around to see how long this referral takes. How you feeling today?

Anyone got a referral yet

Hi all, hope I can join. No due date confirmed yet but nhs website says 9th June :D so puts me at 5+3. This is also my first pregnancy and first cycle of Clomid !

I was worried about feeling cramps ever since my period was supposed to start , gladly no bleeding big though. I called Gp who made me an appointment at the hospital. They scanned me at 4weeks and said all was fine, cramping is normal and even spotting as long as I don't fill up a pad like I would w a period.

I'm so excited but also worried and hope this first trimester goes well.

Vilanelle · 11/10/2019 15:29

Hi all. I am nearly 6 weeks pregnant after successful fertility treatment.

I am a little worried because I do experience some cramping still. Anyone else?

LH1987 · 11/10/2019 17:21

Hi all,

I hope you don't mind me joining.

I'm about 4 + 2, so very early days (Think I'm due June 17th) . I have an appointment with my GP on Monday so hopefully she will be able to put my mind at rest with all my worries!

I have some underlying health problems including Type 1 Diabetes and wondered does anyone know when the earliest you can get a scan is?

Thanks!

AH16 · 11/10/2019 19:55

@Rinoa

Congratulations! Smile
I'm glad all is well with you!
I think we are probably all feeling the same as far as being excited and worried.

@Vilanelle

Congratulations!Smile

Have you had an appointment with your midwife yet.
I think some cramping is normal but depends on the intensity.

@LH1987

Congratulations! Smile
Hope your appointment goes well on Monday! I think they can scan from early on but I dobt know how much they can see at 4 weeks. I have an early scan booked for in a week and il be nearly 7 weeks, so hopefully see something.

@Lucindaa

Did you find anything out?
I'm doing ok thank you, how are you?

@Smiffette

I'm feeling the same, doesn't feel real at the moment but as you say it can all change Smile

Rinoa · 11/10/2019 23:42

I had a scan at 4 weeks because I had cramping but they checked and all fine. I would call go just to make sure, for me they wanted to make sure it wasn't an ectopic or anything else

Squisha82 · 11/10/2019 23:46

Hey ladies, I'm so glad to have found this group.

I'm due around 20th, so it's really early days and it's my 1st so every little niggle and pain is a worry, esp as I'm a little older at 37. I've got a call with the midwife next week but don't get a face to face appointment for another 6 weeks. The stomach pains you mention at the start sound like ones I'm having, really hope they are nothing to worry about x

mspeanutbutter · 12/10/2019 05:48

I'm due June 17th with #2! DS is 2y8m. So excited to give him a little brother or sister! For me this is a winter baby. I used a midwife last time but due to complications in my last birth I feel more comfortable with an Obstetrician this time. Luckily it's free in NZ with a referral from your Dr. I had an emergency Csection last time so am looking into elective ceserean vs vbac (vagibal birth after c section) pros and cons. Congrats to you all Bear

Lucindaa · 12/10/2019 12:55

@Rinoa Congratulations!! I have to say this 1st trimester is dragging. x

@Vilanelle Congratulations also! I had the same issues at around 5/6 weeks but has calmed down now. x

@LH1987 Congratulations I was told the earliest you can have a scan is from 6 weeks. x

@AH16 Still nothing and I'm feeling worried. Its been 4 days since my GP appointment and was hoping that I'd get a call or even a letter regarding what happens next. DH thinks we should go for early scan privately regardless to settle my anxiety! x

@Squisha82 Congratulations! Yea those pains, boy do I remember those pains! x

@mspeanutbutter Congratulations! Welcome onboard x

For me I feel hungry all the time and constantly tired! Everyday without fail I wake up at 4am hungry, have a banana then go back to bed! I toss and turn throughout the night. Literally everyday I get home from work, wait for DH, he cooks, cleans and does everything!
