Hello all, after 9 years of unexplained infertility with 1 failed round of IVF in April I am finally pregnant!

Currently in my 7th week (6 weeks 3 days) and due 1st June 2020!

I need some advice because my anxiety about being pregnant is really affecting me and that something might me wrong.

There are times I feel pain that comes and goes in my lower abdomen. Sometimes on the left and other times on the right but mostly on the left. The pain is not by the hips its lower down to the left of the pubic hair line so still quite central but to the left and right of it.

My GP appointment isn't until Tues where I guess they will refer me to a midwife at the hospital.

Should I go for an early scan?

The only people who know I'm pregnant apart from DH are those on the Conception thread and I think the burden of this is overwhelming and doesn't feel like its quite sunk in yet!

Lu x

@thosethreewords I absolutely understand. At 4+6 this time is absolutely crawling by. Every bit of CM I get in convinced it's blood, every cramp and I'm thinking the worst 🙈

I have booked my first appointment in with the midwife though, which has helped me feel like progress is being made. Its given me something to focus on as it's only a few weeks away. Maybe doing that will give you something to focus on.... or maybe we'll just carry on worrying..... I really hope it's gets easier.

Just had my first sober night out which was an eye opener!!

PurpleFox817 · 18/10/2019 22:40

@Squisha82 did you have to find an excuse not to be drinking? I've been out tonight for a meal but luckily I was driving

Squisha82 · 18/10/2019 22:50

@PurpleFox817 luckily I drove tonight under the pretence that we're taking it in turns and my husband will be driving tomorrow night. It's good we aren't going out with the same people tomorrow!
I am honestly the worst liar though so if someone out and out asks me, I'll just have to tell them

PurpleFox817 · 18/10/2019 23:17

Haha me too @Squisha82 ! I'm at the doctors on Tuesday to see the nurse and she will be contacting the MW team.....it finally will seem real. I am so stupid and did another test....obviously it can back positive! I'm just so excited that I can't believe it's real. I'm so terrible at keeping my own secrets 😂

Squisha82 · 18/10/2019 23:32

@PurpleFox817 😂😂 when I spoke to the midwife on the phone she asked how many tests I'd done up until now! She said she knew of one lovely lady who tested every other day just to make sure.... I'm definitely not that bad

PurpleFox817 · 18/10/2019 23:42

Haha me neither, I have done 5 in total, three the first day I found out (a cheapie, a frer and a clearblue digi at the end!) then two days later one and then for some reason tonight 🤦‍♀️ I'll be doing on at the surgery on Tuesday so I'll not take any more now @Squisha82 😂

thosethreewords · 19/10/2019 08:35

@PurpleFox817 @Squisha82 I'm glad I'm not alone! I will think about making my appointment next week but I just don't want to have to cancel it if something happens 😭 seemed logical at the time! I also have a fertility appointment at hospital when I will be 7 weeks pregnant and I'm going to keep that and go anyway... hopefully they may do an ultrasound!

NotMaryWhitehouse · 19/10/2019 09:13

Morning all! I had a feeling the last couple of days that I might be and took a test this morning- BOOM! Line came up before the test line even showed!

Just told my OH, he cried 😊 we have been waiting for this for all long time. He said 'this is already the best day of my life'. I said SO FAR!

@PurpleFox817 also feeling a bit old (38) and overweight. Will try to safely loose a stone or so in the next few months, depending on what the midwife says.

Congratulations to everyone else, hopefully everything will go smoothly for us all.

LH1987 · 19/10/2019 09:29

Is anyone else exhausted? I am only 5 + 3 along and yesterday in work I honestly felt like I couldn't keep my eyes open. Is that pregnancy or is it too early?

Noodlex · 19/10/2019 09:37

@LH1986 - snap! I am also 5+3 and absolutely exhausted. I have had to go to bed super early every night for the last week as I just can't stay awake. I really hope this is a first trimester thing and doesn't last the whole 9 months Sad

Have you had any other symptoms?

Noodlex · 19/10/2019 09:38

Sorry meant @LH1987 !

CoffeeAndCarbs · 19/10/2019 10:00

Congratulations @NotMaryWhitehouse 😁

I think NHS advice is to not try to lose weight whilst pregnant (as in, don't diet) but if you make healthy changes and watch your portion control then you will probably lose a few pounds naturally.

Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months x

PurpleFox817 · 19/10/2019 10:10

Good idea @Squisha82 I would do the same!

@NotMaryWhitehouse I had just started slimming world and had just lost half a stone then I got my bfp and was so so happy but don't want them giving me crap and ruining my pregnancy by telling me that I'm overweight.....I already know this!

LH1987 · 19/10/2019 10:47

@Noodlex, you aged me a year! How very dare you! Grin

Good to know its not just me, I've also had a little bit of nausea here and there, very tender breasts (but that seems to be worse in the morning and over night). Peeing more frequently. Worst of all, terrible gas every evening!.

If I'm honest these symptoms are things that if I didn't know I was pregnant I would probably put down to other things.

thosethreewords · 19/10/2019 12:47

@NotMaryWhitehouse what your husband said is so lovely! How far along are you?

NotMaryWhitehouse · 19/10/2019 13:54

Thanks @CoffeeAndCarbs ! Yeah, I will be sensible and only do what the professionals say is safe!

NotMaryWhitehouse · 19/10/2019 13:55

@PurpleFox817 I know right?! 🙄 I am about looking forward to being referred to as 'an old mum'. I don't bloody feel it!

NotMaryWhitehouse · 19/10/2019 13:55

NOT, not looking forward......

NotMaryWhitehouse · 19/10/2019 13:56

@thosethreewords I know 😊 I think we are both in shock. We have been trying of a year and a half now, miscarriage last year. I kind of want to scream it out loud...... keeping it from our respective parents is going to be 🤪😬🥴

NotMaryWhitehouse · 19/10/2019 13:57

Sorry @thosethreewords 4 weeks three days!

PurpleFox817 · 19/10/2019 14:08

@NotMaryWhitehouse I believe being older means you are put under consultant care and also if you are overweight so double whammy 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

NotMaryWhitehouse · 19/10/2019 16:02

Great!!! 🙄

Rinoa · 19/10/2019 19:05

I'm 6+4 and exhausted all the time now. I need naps but can't have any at work 😂 I try to slleep more during the weekends. Also nausea is kicking in. I don't actually throw up but definitely feel so sick I can barely drink water. It's so odd one min I'm starving for food the next it makes me sick to think of it 😂

PurpleFox817 · 19/10/2019 21:59

@Rinoa that's my fear, I've already gone off most types of drinks and had to pull over on the way to work as my mouth started to water like I was going
To be sick.....luckily it passed but will have to take a tub or something with me in future just in case!

MissMum2020 · 20/10/2019 16:39

Hey girl,
I'm in a similar position having found out this week that I'm pregnant when I was just about to start IVF. Also due beginning of June!
I couldn't work out how far along I was due to my cycle always having been completely inconsistent...
I went for a private scan today to settle my nerves and help it to sink in and to be honest I do recommend doing it if you haven't already?
Oh and by the way, congratulations Smile xx
