Hello all, after 9 years of unexplained infertility with 1 failed round of IVF in April I am finally pregnant!

Currently in my 7th week (6 weeks 3 days) and due 1st June 2020!

I need some advice because my anxiety about being pregnant is really affecting me and that something might me wrong.

There are times I feel pain that comes and goes in my lower abdomen. Sometimes on the left and other times on the right but mostly on the left. The pain is not by the hips its lower down to the left of the pubic hair line so still quite central but to the left and right of it.

My GP appointment isn't until Tues where I guess they will refer me to a midwife at the hospital.

Should I go for an early scan?

The only people who know I'm pregnant apart from DH are those on the Conception thread and I think the burden of this is overwhelming and doesn't feel like its quite sunk in yet!

@mouse1234567 I've only really got sore bbs and feeling a little more tired than usual. At 4+3 though I'm waiting for 6 weeks to see if it changes. I'm enjoying bigger bbs whilst it lasts!!

Has anyone else taken a pregnancy test since they had their BFP?? I took one this morning just to make sure all was ok 🙈 I think I'm going mad waiting for my first appointment and scan!

Lucindaa · 15/10/2019 10:52

Lovely to see so many join the June 2020 gang!

Still waiting for hospital to call me a week after going to the GP when they recommended I get a early scan. No idea what to expect. Starting my 9th week today and would have expected a letter or call to confirm my appointment.

Is this normal?

Hi everyone,

Congratulations to you all!

I hope I can join you all. I'm 4+6 with my first at age 36, due 17 June. We only started trying last month so it it was a bit of a surprise when I got the BFP as we thought it would take longer! Especially with all the scaremongering you read about your fertility dropping off a cliff 35+

I'm so relieved I'm not the only one going crazy waiting for the booking appointment and scan. It seems so long to wait and I feel like I should be doing something other than wishing the time away and constantly worrying something will go wrong...

Did anyone else 'just know' when they were pregnant? I woke up one morning a couple of days before I was due on and immediately knew I needed to do a test. I had what I can only describe as 'womb twitching' LOL. And the feeling you get when you go over a small hill in a car (tummy flip kinda thing). xx

FurryGrapes · 15/10/2019 12:42

Hi all! I'm 4 weeks today, due 23rd June and I'm 34 years old. First pregnancy so quite nervous and not quite trusting it yet. Booked in to get my flu jab today and first appointment is 6th November with my midwife, sounds so far away but know I have to be patient!

thosethreewords · 15/10/2019 13:20

@Lucindaa I would ring your GP practice and see if you can get a number for ultrasound and give them a call. If they wait any longer it won't really be an early scan 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Lucindaa I've taken three! Just for my own satisfaction I would love to have a positive clear blue so I'm saving that to do tomorrow morning. What a treat!

@Noodlex I must have subconsciously known, because we've been trying nearly a year and I can't remember the last time I took a test (I got so fed up with them I just waited for my period!) My "signs" were craving meat (I'm vegan and don't crave meat anymore) and no spotting for the few days before my period was due. And now I've got the sore boobs, odd pains here and there etc.

@FurryGrapes I'm 4+1 I think and I've not called the midwife yet! I'm planning on calling in a few weeks or maybe next week. My GP practice I'm registered at only has one clinic on a Thursday for flu jabs and I can't make that, and my practice I work at won't be getting the flu jabs in for weeks! So I'm off to the pharmacy to buy one this afternoon.

CoffeeAndCarbs · 15/10/2019 14:07

Hello fellow mums-to-be,

I got my BFP last Thursday (the day before my 35th birthday) at 9DPO. Going by LMP, I'm 4+5 today. However, I know I O'd later this month at CD20 so prob a little earlier than that. NHS due date calculator says I'm due 22nd June.

I have PCOS so booked an appointment with my GP tomorrow before self referring to antenatal care as midwife prob won't see me till 8-10 weeks for booking appointment.

I still can't believe I'm pregnant! I've taken a test every day since Thursday to make sure the lines are getting darker 🙈 thankfully they are!

The only symptoms I have so far are wind and frequent urination. Dreading the morning sickness kicking in 😫

How are you all feeling? X

Lucindaa · 15/10/2019 18:40

@thosethreewords I'll ring them tomorrow morning. x

@thosethreewords @Squisha82 you are right, symptoms are so personal and also often kick in much later. Funnily enough I am wondering if I have a bit of heartburn or yuckyness this afternoon.

I haven’t taken loads more tests but certainly a few! I caved today the anxiety for the better of my and I booked a blood test. My HCG came back at 3571-was hoping it would be a bit higher but actually all that matters is if it doubles so going to repeat in a few days. With my miscarriage levels never got above 270 so there is def improvement.

Hope everyone else is ok.

HL123 · 15/10/2019 20:39

Hi all,

Congratulations to those expecting! Smile
I got a BFP on Sunday with a cheap strip test - took a digital yesterday that said pregnant 1-2 weeks. Worked out my due date is 24.06.2020.
I'm 30 and it's my first baby, will also be a single mum which I'm finding a bit daunting!
Looking forward to sharing everyone's journey x

CoffeeAndCarbs · 15/10/2019 23:27

@HL123 Congratulations! Exciting times ahead x

thosethreewords · 16/10/2019 06:55

@HL123 hi! I think we may end up date twins because I thought I was 4+2 today but I only got 1-2 weeks on a CB this morning, so I may have ovulated later than expected! Congratulations!

Lucindaa · 16/10/2019 15:27

@HL123 Congrats

@thosethreewords I rung the GP. Receptionist told me to Google the number. Hmm Number not listed on hospital website so my DH actually went down there to explain how I'm going stir crazy. This afternoon I received a call back for an appointment for Friday morning Smile

Also joining the thread. 30 years old and pregnant with first child! Super happy and excited but beyond anxious daily! Have my first meeting with my midwife on Halloween 😶
How is everyone getting early scan btw?
Happy for everyone on this thread! How exciting! 🥰🥰

AmyMaria2 · 16/10/2019 23:16

Can I join..
6+5 with my first baby, ttc 2 years and conceived on my last round of clomid! Already had a scan at 5+6 due to it being a clomid pregnancy, saw a flickering heartbeat 🥰 got a midwife appointment 29th Oct and private scan 30th Oct. trying not to let myself get too excited yet.

Congratulations to all the bfps on the thread 🥳

AH16 · 17/10/2019 06:35

Congratulations to you all! How are you all feeling? And when do you have your midwife appointments, as unsure if it's different on other areas of the world.

Squisha82 · 17/10/2019 07:17

Hi to all the newcomers, congratulations!

@AH16 I have a. Initial call with the midwife this morning and then I think they arrange an appointment for about week 8... I'm not sure how I'm going to wait that long. I'll be booking in for a private scan at some point as definitely cannot wait the 12 weeks for that

PurpleFox817 · 17/10/2019 07:48

How again everyone; this morning (sorry if TMI) I had the tiniest almost strand of dark brown blood; it was like a tiny hair in appearance. Obviously I'm already freaking out but trying not to, I'm 6 + 1 today. I've put a liner on for today but is this normal? I'm already panicking xxx

PurpleFox817 · 17/10/2019 07:49

Sorry I mean 5weeks +1

Lucindaa · 17/10/2019 17:14

Congrats everyone!!

I need some advice. We had our scan moved to this lunchtime due to a cancellation.

Today I am 8 weeks pregnant according to several online calculations.

So with the scan result.

4mm fetal pole dated at 5.6 weeks with a flickering heart beat! Smile

I'm unsure what to think as this sounds a little on the small size as was expecting something over 1cm using apps that tell me how big my little bean is doing! Confused

thosethreewords · 17/10/2019 17:24

@Lucindaa I'll be honest, I've heard mixed reviews for some of the private scan companies. A lot of them if there's an issue, you get sent to the early pregnancy unit and when I worked on there, frequently there would be a totally normal scan after someone had been told there was no heartbeat or something similar! So I would take reassurance from the heartbeat and try to ignore the measurements for now. Are you having another scan before your booking scan?

thosethreewords · 17/10/2019 17:25

Still on and off back pain, reflux and sore nipples. Feeling a bit less anxious today though which is a positive 🤞🥰

PurpleFox817 · 17/10/2019 20:09

Congratulations @Lucindaa ❤️

Just an update, I had no bleeding so I feel happier Smile

Lucindaa · 17/10/2019 20:13

@thosethreewords sorry I should have said, this was with the NHS. Yes next scan on 1st Nov.

I have similar symptoms as you. I'm literally doing nothing as DH is my on-call nurse and my back is killing me.

4+3 and I feel like time has draaaaagged this week. My anxiety has reduced somewhat (TMI anyone else panic when they go to the toilet just in case there's blood... Confused) but I just want these first weeks over with so I can start to feel more excited! I haven't even booked my MW appointment yet... I really wish I hadn't found out yet!

PurpleFox817 · 18/10/2019 21:34

@thosethreewords yes I can relate to all of that 😞 it's a rollercoaster of excitement then worry and panic....currently trying not todo another pregnancy test because I know it's daft 🤦‍♀️
