@HJWT baby might like the noise of the fan though! Bit of white noise!

cattaxi · 10/10/2019 21:53

Yes to the hot flushes @maryrobinson81. I’m usually freezing all the time. Dh put the heating on last night and I ended up sat in a vest!

@HJWT hopefully Sunday afternoon for you! Did you have a long labour last time?
I’m going for my pre-op tomorrow. I hope that I get on to the list early on Monday.

Frizzy1986 · 10/10/2019 22:54

@HJWT @KatnissK @cattaxi oooo how exciting. Can't wait to hear the news of how it has all gone.
I'm sure everything will be OK and it won't be long until you get to revert to the stress of having a baby instead of the stress of waiting for one!

I passed a clot tonight about the size of a pound coin, so it's another thing for me to worry about. I'm pretty sure it was similar last time, but so many places say its bad if you pass a clot bigger than your finger nail after a week.

Just feel like everything is worrying me at the moment. Jaundice levels, breathlessness and now a clot 9 days post partum. I just can't stop panicking about everything and it's not like I got told (either last time or this time) what to watch for with bleeding.

Newmumatlast · 11/10/2019 00:14

So I had second sweep. Immensely painful as midwife struggled to get past the head again as it is so low. Even lower than last time which she seemed surprised about with me not having gone into active labour yet though seems I'm in latent stage. I had to have gas and air for another try but she still couldn't do the sweep due to where head is and could only get to first layer of cervix which she said is like paper. Was hoping to push on to active stage but seems more likely now I'll be induced next Monday. Still having cramping and the odd really painful spout of contractions/shooting pain which settles to nothing again. Quite along drawn out process it seems and I'm now terrified about active labour

YorkshireIndie · 11/10/2019 01:06

Anyone else awake?

Got to be up tomorrow but typically I am awake 😢

AngeIoMysterioso · 11/10/2019 04:30

Woken at 4 a.m by rain on the roof. The joys of a converted loft bedroom.

Had a MW appt today, all fairly humdrum at this point. Turns out I’ve only put on just over 5kg of weight since my booking in appt, is that quite low? How much has everyone else gone up?

HJWT · 11/10/2019 06:23

@cattaxi No thankfully had the gel put in 10.30AM she was born next day 4.03AM, so not even 24 hours, active labour was around 6 hours! But last time when they gave me my date they checked me & gave me a sweep, they haven't this time so I'm a bit panicked I am going to be fully closed etc and nothing will happen 🤦🏻‍♀️

I hope they get you in first thing on Monday! Must be hard sitting there waiting x

@Frizzy1986 did you take a pic to show midwife? Maybe ring the out of hours team or triage just to get some reassurance! Its so hard when you don't know what your body is doing x

@Newmumatlast sorry you went through so much pain! Hope things start moving along for you soon 🤞🏻

@YorkshireIndie @AngeIoMysterioso I have been awake for about an hour! DD woke me up saying she was scared! I really don't mind though as its her last weekend as an only child😥

Iv put around 2 stone on 😬 I guess not to bad though considering baby, water & placenta is probably around a stone 😂

Frizzy1986 · 11/10/2019 06:41

@HJWT yes I did take a photo, next to a trolley pound for size reference! Dh said to say to the midwife of Monday as she comes back to see about signing off to the health visitor, but I'm not sure if I should call them. I can't end up in hospital tomorrow though as my sister is driving 3hrs to come and visit us with the family and has the hotel booked and everything.

@AngeloMysterioso I didn't get weighed other than when they took my bloods after the 12 week scan. I intend to not get on the scales for at least a few months as I don't want to know what weight I put on.
I put on around 3 stone with dd! It took me about 8 months to get rid of it, but I didn't start trying to lose it until she was around 3 months old as I wanted time to just not get caught up in diets etc and in those early days/weeks I needed cake.

Figuringitout · 11/10/2019 07:08

@Frizzy1986 - sorry to hear you’re having a hard time. Could you call the midwife/postnatal ward if you are worried? I had a really big clot earlier this week (TMI but I heard it plop into the toilet) and mentioned it to the midwife. She asked me some questions about it and how I was feeling but she didn’t seem concerned and I’ve not had anything since. I very much doubt they would ask you to go in, but a phone call might well reassure you.
What is happening re:jaundice- what were Orson’s levels? And is he having them repeated? Hope it all settles for you soon.
@AngeIoMysterioso - I’m another who has no idea about how much weight I put on. (A large chunk of it is currently sleeping on my chest!) I’m not going to give myself a hard time about it though - and am going with the, ‘9 months on, 9 months off’ mantra!!

userabcname · 11/10/2019 07:18

@Frizzy1986 I'd give the midwife a call about the clot. Hopefully it's normal but it's good to get reassurance!

userabcname · 11/10/2019 07:20

@AngeloMysterioso I've put on 10kg I think (or at least at my last appt I had, maybe more now but not planning to weigh myself before the c section). I think 5kg is fine - I know a few people who actually lost weight during pregnancy because of sickness and such! At least you won't have too much to lose. I put on absolutely tons with DS and didn't manage to lose it all before getting pregnant again so I have my work cut out for me!

HJWT · 11/10/2019 07:26

@KatnissK Same! 🤣 DH said to just enjoy Christmas and start my diet after! He said whats the point losing weight for the next few weeks when it is Christmas ! Fair enough more chocolate cake for me 😝😂

Frizzy1986 · 11/10/2019 08:16

@figuringitout midwife said on Tuesday that the jaundice seemed to have improved and as he had started putting weight back on she didn't feel the need to check his levels which is good.
I think it is going though. The whites of his eyes just have a slight yellow tinge now. Its tough to check though as the weather has been quite dark out, which means lights on which obviously impact what he looks like.

I've got the breast feeding support team coming today so I'll try and call the midwives afterwards. Need to figure out which number to use as I seem to have several different numbers now what with midwife visits etc.
I'm still getting some gushes of red discharge which I did mention to the midwife on Tuesday and she said that was totally normal. And I'm pretty sure I had similar last time as well. I was one of the ones outside the norm as I bled for around 9 weeks instead of the usual 6 when I had dd.

Em39ma · 11/10/2019 13:00

My boobs still look like they have been in a nasty accident.
Midwife came yesterday and she suggest we get a pump and try and expresss from the left and give it a break for a couple of days.
We are going to pop into the breastfeeding clinic on Monday and see what else there is for me to do.

HJWT · 11/10/2019 14:28

@Em39ma Have you tried nipple shields? Or is it the whole boob x

OP posts:
Frizzy1986 · 11/10/2019 14:36

So I'm sat in the hospital assessment unit waiting for bloods so they can rule out clots on my lungs with my breathlessness. I literally just want to go home 😢
My sister arrives late tonight to visit us tomorrow and I can't have it ruined. Orson has done a massive poo but can't change him yet as don't want to miss my spot, I've not had any food since breakfast and the shopping is currently sat in the car as gp told me to come straight in.

HJWT · 11/10/2019 14:47

@Frizzy1986 don't worry about any of that! As long as your getting seen thats all that matters! Change him on a chair if there is one x

OP posts:
YorkshireIndie · 11/10/2019 15:00

@AngeIoMysterioso wow I am so envious. My midwife told me off for putting on 12kg 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

@Frizzy1986 can you go and speak to a nurse/receptionist and explain that you need to change the baby? If not do what @HJWT suggests and change him on the chair. Hope you get seen soon.

Anyone with any baby news?

Maternity leave officially starts on Monday so am putting dates in the diary. Might convince the baby to make a move 😉

Maryrobinson81 · 11/10/2019 17:01

@Frizzy1986 hope you are ok and have been seen.
My weight gain has been massive this pregnancy! I’m over 3 stone heavier than I was. I had been losing weight through exercise and healthy eating before and was back in size 8 for the first time since having my eldest 7 years ago.
People say I don’t look like I’ve gained any weight but I obviously have! I think a lot of it is around hips/bum/thighs. Not been weighed by midwife though since booking appointment. I don’t think they are particularly interested.
Looking forward to seeing more baby news soon!!

cattaxi · 11/10/2019 17:17

Afternoon! Had my pre op today. All set for c-section on Monday afternoon. I’m the only one on the list, so provided there are not a lot of emergencies, I shouldn’t get cancelled. Nerves & excitement are major.
Oh, and I closed my eyes when they weighed me! I lot quite a bit of weight at the beginning with hg, but I’m sure I’ve made up for it since. I think I’d rather leave it until the baby is here to think about though.

Oh god @Frizzy1986. sorry you are having such a stressful time. I’m sure they are just being over cautious. I hope you get seen soon.

@HJWT I think that if you’ve had one successful induction, your chances if a second one are really good. You could be even quicker this time 🙂

That sounds painful @Em39ma. I hope you get some relief soon. The kellymom website is excellent for bf’ing resources.

Hope everyone everyone else is ok.

Positivity86 · 11/10/2019 17:18

Hope you are ok @Frizzy1986

@AngeIoMysterioso wow you haven't put on much at all. I've put on 2.5 stone 🙈 my BMI was on the lower side before I got pregnant so the midwife hasn't said much about it...I'm hoping at least a stone is the baby/water etc!! But it's all for the best reason so I'm not really too bothered.

Good luck to all those having sections or being induced in the next few days!

userabcname · 11/10/2019 17:59

Hope all is well @Frizzy1986. It sounds very stressful!

Em39ma · 11/10/2019 18:08

It’s the whole boob, but nipple is probably the worse bit.
They think it’s because she is too good at latching.
They look like a blood bath.

Frizzy1986 · 11/10/2019 20:08

Finally got discharged at 6pm. Was very stressful. They ran my bloods which showed slightly elevated levels of whatever it shows for clots, they ran a chest xray to rule out infection, and then they told me I'd need an injection in my stomach to clear any possible clots as they might have to assume I have some, and then I'd need a scan to confirm.
I broke down in tears at that point as my sister was halfway through her over 3hr journey to visit Orson and it was looking like the scan wait could mean an overnight wait.
The doctor didn't know how long it would be as it would be a consultant from another department.
Eventually the consultant came, checked me over (pulse, heart rate, breathing etc) and said that although my levels are elevated in my blood, they are elevated during pregnancy so it is likely that, as he doesn't think they are high enough to show a clot. And I have no other symptoms so therefore no need for a scan or the injection. So relieved.
I had been on my own at the hospital with Orson for about 4 hours before dh collected dd from school and came. They arrived with me in tears assuming the worst, but they've now said to monitor it and come back if it gets worse.

SC0508 · 11/10/2019 21:21

@Frizzy1986 you must be glad to finally be home, hopefully you are feeling better soon.

I had an afternoon from hell too, DS school called to say he had fell and bumped head and was bleeding badly to go to school ASAP, got there to be told they think it needs stitches so off to hospital we went. After 2 hrs in the hospital he finally got let away luckily he just needed it glued and seems fine, was super proud with how he dealt with it all. Now worrying like crazy as he wanted to stay with grandad for the night and I can't stop worrying is he ok, is he in any pain and not saying 🙁 can't wait for him to come home tomorrow for lots of cuddles.
To top the day off think the dog has an ear infection too so off to vets in the morning with her too 😞.

Really hoping this baby appears soon just to make things a lil easier 😂
