Harry congratsssssssss !!!

cattaxi · 07/10/2019 22:45

Evening all! I went to the pub with some friends for a meal tonight. I’ve ate so much that I’m lying here wondering if I might actually burst. So uncomfortable!

That all sounds promising @Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy. Fingers crossed your psychic had their wires crossed!

@secretlyhermione - things are moving in the right direction for you by the sound of it.

It’s so good to hear that @Figuringitout. I was on a massive high when ds was born. Mostly, I think, due to being super chuffed I was no longer pregnant. Hopefully I’ll feel the same again this time.

💐💐 for you @Frizzy1986. it sounds like you have a lot on your mind. Maybe the chest pains are anxiety? Definitely get them checked out. But in the mean time, try some relaxed / paced breathing exercises to see if they help. You can find loads on YouTube. Sending lots of love.

How do you even manage to walk at your normal pace @YorkshireIndie?! I’m impressed! A slow waddle is all I can manage now.

@HJWT I’ll join you in the fed up of the comments club. People are so rude! I swear I hear “still here?” a million times when I take ds to school. And the staring 👀 my mates were really shocked at the pub tonight allow many people were just staring at my bump.

Congratulations @HarryHarry - glad it all went smoothly.

I hope everyone else is ok. I’m struggling to get comfy to reply properly.
Hopefully there will be plenty of sleep all round tonight.

YorkshireIndie · 07/10/2019 23:05

It was a slow walk back from the hospital and with the dogs @cattaxi

My mum seems to be getting all of the questions about the baby but I feel really heavy tonight and baby is on the move.

@Frizzy1986 keep on pestering. Ring the GP and keep on mentioning the words chest pains and recent delivery. Sending you hugs

Em39ma · 08/10/2019 00:46

Sorry I’ve been quiet all day. We got pushed back because of a couple of emergencies.
Isobel Grace was finally born at 3.07 this afternoon.
She’s good, I was ok during the op, but now having a few problems with heart rate and fast breathing rate too.
Having to stay in recovery. Someone will only sleep on me, so I now have had only 2 hours sleep in the last 24 hours!!!!

SC0508 · 08/10/2019 01:41

@Em39ma congratulations glad you finally got to meet your baby girl 💞 wishing you a speedy recovery and hopefully you all get home soon to enjoy all those cuddles and rest 😀

Em39ma · 08/10/2019 02:57

Here’s a couple of pictures of her.

secretlyhermione · 08/10/2019 06:10

@HarryHarry @Em39ma lovely to wake up to the news to more babies being born!! I was hoping to feel a twinge tonight after my examination yesterday but NADA. Think I will treat myself to the cinema today and just keep repeating that baby will come when baby is ready.

Em39ma · 08/10/2019 06:18

Not sure why the pictures aren’t showing. Will try again later.

HJWT · 08/10/2019 07:04

@Em39ma @HarryHarry Congratulations both of you! Making us all very jealous I think 😁 cant wait for baby snuggles! Xx

Frizzy1986 · 08/10/2019 08:36

Congratulations @Em39ma and @HarryHarry
Enjoy those baby snuggles!!

I'm sure there'll be more babies along before we know it.

Figuringitout · 08/10/2019 08:53

Congratulations @Em39ma and @HarryHarry

Figuringitout · 08/10/2019 08:53

Hope you both get quiet and snuggly days today!

Newmumatlast · 08/10/2019 08:57

Congrats @Em39ma and @HarryHarry

I am fed up myself. Had a membrane sweep last Monday which felt like my insides were being turned out. Was told I'd got to 2-3cm dilated and midwife thought birth would be imminent. She was really surprised the next day I'd not gone into active labour. Instead I've had period cramps ever since so I feel like crap, lost my mucus plug and lots of mucus over the few days after it and bled brown dried blood and bits of membrane, but baby is still content to stay inside. I'm supposed to have another sweep this week but wondering whether to bother when it just hurt so so much and made my insides feel messed with for no real reason it feels. I'm being induced next Monday so wondering whether to actually just wait for that if it will hurt less :/

Positivity86 · 08/10/2019 09:20

Huge congratulations @HarryHarry and @Em39ma! 💞

Maryrobinson81 · 08/10/2019 09:39

Congratulations @HarryHarry and @Em39ma. Hope you are both recovering ok!
@Newmumatlast sorry to hear you feel so rubbish, must be frustrating thinking it’s all going to happen then nothing. Are you now over?
I’m 39+1 today, some days I feel a bit crampy and others not so I don’t know how close I am. I know one thing is that my heart burn has not improved any so I don’t think baby is very low yet. I’m still swigging gaviscon out the bottle. Also so hungry all the time still, Wonder if she’s having a last growth spurt.

MrsNotNice · 08/10/2019 10:34

Hi everyone,

I stayed up the night doing random organizations around the storage rooms so I can make space to empty out things we don’t need from baby room.

And then slept for a tiny bit and woke up early to find the mucus plug. But weirdly there is no blood in it like last time. I wonder whether this means my Labour is coming soon. Last time I had a bloody show and within 4 days I was in Labour. Not sure what to expect now because there is no blood. Anyone experienced that? I’m 39 weeks now! So would be lovely if I give birth on my due date and not exceed! I don’t want it to be today because I haven’t actually managed to sleep!!

Em39ma awwww so cute like a little doll, all cuddled up. How r u feeling and how’s recovery?

AngeIoMysterioso · 08/10/2019 11:18

Sorry for the disappearing act all!

@Em39ma @HarryHarry @Slinkyreptile @Frizzy1986 @Figuringitout congratulations on your lovely babies!

Our growth scan went well last week, baby continues to be bang average and was measuring just above 50th centile at approx 6lbs 6oz. We thought that would be our last scan but the registrar has requested another at 39 weeks (assuming baby isn’t out in the world by then) which apparently is standard protocol for GD babies.

At my first consultant appt at 33 weeks I had Scary Senior Obstetrician, who told me that contrary to previous advice I couldn’t have a water birth because of the GD- she said I can go in the pool til I’m about 5/6cms and then I’ll have to get out and deliver on the bed. She said that there’s a higher risk of shoulder dystocia and hypoxia, that they’ll want to monitor the baby and I’m putting it at more risk if I have a water birth. She said the water can speed the baby up and it just comes shooting out and that makes it more likely to tear me internally (she actually made a helpful zig-zag motion in the air with her finger when she said that). I was saying how I’d been told previously that it wouldn’t be a problem and she was all “wellllllll, it’s up to you, you can have one if you insist on it, but...” and then started talking about hypoxia etc again. So I was quite deflated and upset after that.

But then the MW I saw at my 35 week appt said that since all scans have shown the baby to be average size and my GD is diet controlled with all my sugar levels being within the limits she didn’t see why I couldn’t be treated as a regular non-low risk pregnancy. So I was a bit confused about the whole thing...

Last week however I had Nice Junior Obstetrician! I explained how I was still hoping for a water birth in spite of what SSO had said last time and that the MW had told me it shouldn’t be a problem. NJO checked with the registrar who said as long as my baby’s growth continues to be within normal range he/she’s happy for me to go ahead Smile Woohoo!!!

Em39ma · 08/10/2019 13:01

We are doing ok. Isobel has slept most of the day, was feeding well over night. There not worried as she is still under 24 hours old, because last feed at 5.30 this morning. Likes to sleep holding her booby😂 I think so she knows it’s there when she wants it.

YorkshireIndie · 08/10/2019 13:44

Congratulations @Em39ma

Anyone having a slow day? Currently spending the day in bed. Did not sleep very well last night. Can not believe my due date is a week today!?

Sounds promising @AngeIoMysterioso. Keeping my fingers crossed for you

HJWT · 08/10/2019 14:15

@AngeIoMysterioso Honestly I think it just depends who you see on the day, last consultant I saw was a man and he said no water birth but midwife have all told me I can have baby in the water but have to get out to deliver the placenta (due to the bleed last time) no ones even mentioned I cant due to baby's size and he is already 8LB 3 xx

Frizzy1986 · 08/10/2019 15:33

@AngeloMysterioso and @HJWT I didn't have issues with GD or growth, but Orson was tracking on the 50th percentile the whole way through, but was born on 79th at 9lb 2. I know the birth centre had water births of upwards of 10lbs previously as well.
I was in water, but not long enough for it to speed things up (around 2 minutes)
I tore for the second time, but recovery is going well. I'm more swollen than anything and haven't really suffered any pain down there at all. Midwife said it's healing nicely and external stitches are falling away.
They can't guarantee you won't tear on a bed, in a pool, on a birthing stool.
I think it's about aiming to give birth where you would feel most comfortable as that will be the best experience, but being prepared that things change. I planned to be in a pool during contractions, breathing, calming etc. Not sat upright in the passenger seat of a VW golf almost giving birth in the car.
I definitely pushed too fast first time which led to the tear.
This time labour was much faster (first twinge to out in less than 12hrs, but active labour to out was around 45 mins) I pushed slowly at the end though and was guided by the midwife team, yet still tore. They implied that there was nothing I could've done differently so sometimes it's just luck of the draw what kind of labour you have.

HJWT · 08/10/2019 17:43

Getting a lot of pressure in my bum tonight Blush baby is moving lots and causing pain down below! I think he is trying to push down, how my waters haven't gone yet I do not know! Even DD's teacher said today that he has dropped and she can tell from how I am walking 😂

God the pain! I will be surprised if he stays put till next week.

Contractions started and bloody show. But not yet in established labour.

The house is a bomb as I was doing lots of clearing out when it all started!. I was told to go in as an emergency because of the amount of blood
