Yes to the leg cramps @HJWT ! Have woken up yelping in agony, I think OH thought I’d gone into labour 😂

Had my leaving lunch with work, even though I don’t finish until Friday! Got a lovely box of goodies for me and baby, including a mini bottle of champagne, that will be popped open on our return home!

HJWT · 18/09/2019 20:38

@Jojo7979 I think id have to push DH out the bed if I was in labour! He sleeps through everything! But Sometimes if DD cries in the night he jumps out of bed like we are being robbed 😂

@HJWT leg cramps are the worst! Mine always seem to happen just as I get into a slightly comfortable sleep it's such a nightmare.

Finally my last day of work tomorrow was meant to finish Friday but had an extra day holiday 😁 looking forward to finishing as 6days solid has made me exhausted!

Anyone else experiencing really bad headaches at this stage? I couldn't move from my sofa after work as my head just felt so heavy and painful 🙁

newbabyyy2019 · 18/09/2019 22:41

So i was laying in bed and all of a sudden I feel this popping sensation inside my lower tummy. (I google and it says you can feel a pop sometimes right before your waters break) so I sat here for a moment thinking oh my god my waters broke but then no water or anything has come out.. I've walked around a bit but literally nothing and now I'm confused as the what that weird pop sensation was. The babies now moving around loads but still nothing.. it's been about 20 minutes since the pop so I'm guessing it was obviously not my waters.. What else could It of been though 😩 so strange!

YorkshireIndie · 19/09/2019 02:09

@newbabyyy2019 how is it going? Was it your waters?

Currently setting out the stall for the wide awake club. Is anyone else up? Think I have BH and the baby is moving. Also does not help that my brain is going through a million thoughts a minute

Em39ma · 19/09/2019 02:36

I’m up, nose has blocked up and having trouble breathing.
I will try and sleep again in bit, but for now just lying here awake being kicked too.

newbabyyy2019 · 19/09/2019 04:20

@YorkshireIndie Im guessing not because I've had no trickles or gushes of waters. I'm having horrible period type cramps/pain though right now which are keeping me awake ☹️

Frizzy1986 · 19/09/2019 04:44

@newbabyyy2019 keep an eye on those pains for sure.
My labour started with period cramps/pains thay kept me awake. They shouldn't tend to be painful enough to keep you awake unless it could be the start of something.
Do they go away when you move around/change position?? Are they fairly constant?
My advice is to monitor them, is there a pattern? It could still be days off but might be the start.
I had very very painful cramps overnight last time. I didn't sleep at all and they didn't stop for longer than 15-20mins.
I took a bath the next morning and felt a "pop" but it was a bloody painful "pop" like took my breath away, omg what the hell was that kind of thing.
Got out of the bath and went for a wee and my waters went on the toilet.

Feeling for those waking up and struggling. This is the second night that I've pretty much slept through until 4:30am before needing to get up to wee.
Still no signs for me, baby wriggling away, no cramping, nothing. 38+2 now and I want it out!

HJWT · 19/09/2019 05:59

DD got me up in the night and has been shouting me for 20 minutes 🤦🏻‍♀️ feel like the walking dead and iv got awful heartburn 🥴

Em39ma · 19/09/2019 08:08

I went back to sleep at about 5. Really have had enough now. I know I’m only 35+5, but I just need to sleep.
Thought I’m would just stay in PJ’s all day, but just remembered DH sister is popping over later. Will have to find some clothes and look vaguely human.

newbabyyy2019 · 19/09/2019 08:45

@Frizzy1986
I managed to get back to sleep eventually because the cramping seemed to stop. There was no pattern or anything to them. This isn't the first time I've had them type of cramps.. I really thought something was happening this time though due to the popping sensation I felt 😩 but it must of been nothing. So frustrating!!

Frizzy1986 · 19/09/2019 08:59

@newbabyyy2019 gutted for you. Bodies are such a tease aren't they!!
Well hopefully it is a sign that your body is gearing up for what's to come.

I know lots of people get anxious about the whole birth bit but I'm excited as although I know it's going to hurt like hell, I made it last time and I got the most beautiful prize at the end.
And I'm a total weakling so if I can do it, I'm convinced that anyone can. It does have an end point no matter how hard it gets and a blooming joyous one at that!

cattaxi · 19/09/2019 09:01

Good morning! I actually had a decent sleep. We were late going to bed though, so I think the first nap of the day is on the horizon!

@Rememberallball - lovely to hear from you. Glad you are getting all settled with the twins at home home. They are great weights!

I can’t think of any marks on clothes @YorkshireIndie. I do feel I’m constantly messy - probably because the bump is in the way all the time.
Any chance your boobs are leaking?

@newbabyyy2019 yes to weird dreams! I’m a pretty vivid dreamer at the best of times, but pregnancy is a whole new level.
Glad you got to sleep. Popping sensations & cramps do sound quite promising. When my waters went, there was no mistaking it. It was like something out of a movie! I remember standing on a towel on the landing laughing with dh and it was just pouring out with every giggle!

@SC0508 I get headaches if I’m tired or dehydrated. Keep an eye on yours as they can be a sign of preeclampsia.

I hope everyone has a good day. I’ve got a few deliveries of baby gear coming today, so going to hang about the house & get more washing done while the sun shines. Just found the box of 0-3 clothes, so may as well freshen it up.

Slinkyreptile · 19/09/2019 09:07

Hello all didn’t notice this thread before somehow. Hope you don’t mind me joining in!

Officially due 14th Oct with DC2. Currently 36+3 and getting impatient! DD was born at 36+2 so although I’m not full term I’m well and truly ready for my baby boy to arrive Grin

Was at midwife yesterday. All is going well, growth scan last week showed that he is pretty big for the stage I’m at but as he is getting enough blood flow and enough fluid still in there they are happy to keep going and see what happens. MW said that he has moved down but head not quite engaged yet

secretlyhermione · 19/09/2019 09:29

Hello all! Third day of maternity leave here. Getting my teeth cleaned and have pilates today, and tomorrow I'm meeting a woman from my prenatal course who is due a week before me for lunch!
Have decided to do a maternity and newborn shoot as it's my first baby and why not? We've been so fortunate to have gotten so many things gifted to us so have spent very little on the baby itself so I thought I'd splurge on some good pre and post photos! Have my baby shower on Sunday as well so really looking forward to that. Was a bit hesitant about having one but my American friend convinced me and is hosting it and now that the date is closer am actually quite happy we're doing it. Will be nice to gather friends and family around for a special day.
I'm 36 weeks today so officially in the ninth and last month of pregnancy. Who knows when this little bubba will decide to come. Have had no BH or any other symptoms so I think this one will go passed due date but who knows?!

CarysRed · 19/09/2019 09:41

Can I join? I know I’m really late but have only just seen this (I check the antenatal clubs, so didn’t know there was one here), I’m due on the 30th with our first, we’re having a little boy!.

Frizzy1986 · 19/09/2019 10:40

@carysred welcome. Hope you're pregnancy is going smoothly for you, but feel free to rant away like the rest of us.

Welcome @Slinkyreptile that's good that baby is head down. Most second babies don't engage until labour so I wouldn't worry. I feel your pain though. Dd arrived at 37+4 and I'm currently 38+2. It's unknown territory and I'd rather not be waiting around now.

@secretlyhermione sounds nice. I'm sure the baby shower will be lovely. Iid have loved a prebaby shoot to see the beauty of my pregnant form (even though I've put on lots of weight and feel like a whale). All the lovely lighting would possible make me look like a goddess 😂
I had a 3 month shoot with dd just because my friend is a photographer and wanted some practise. It was too late to do all the squishy newborn shots but she looked like a little beauty so I didn't mind.

I've just repacked my hospital Bag as I couldn't remember what was in it.
Towel
Dressing gown
Slippers
Nightie
Clothes for me
Lots of pants
Socks
Nursing top
Maternity pads
Breast pads
Toiletries (shampoo, body wash, Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Hairbrush, hair ties, nipple cream)
Baby blanket
Muslins
Sleep suits
Baby vests
Baby hats
Nappies
Wipes
Cotton wool
Nappy bags
Head phones
Charger
Straws
Lucozade
Cereal bars

Am I missing anything? Its all in one holdall bag thing. I've put my stuff in a carrier bag, in the bag so it's a bit separate.

CarysRed · 19/09/2019 11:01

Thank you @Frizzy1986 I’m doing okay, but I’m getting really bad backache now that baby is getting bigger. Your bag seems perfect to me!.

SRK16 · 19/09/2019 11:21

@Frizzy1986 your bag seems spot on to me! I’m going to repack mine next week, which is silly as I know what’s in it!

@secretlyhermione baby shower sounds nice. I didn’t want one but a couple of my friend did me a mini surprise one and I loved it!

I’ve been so lazy the last couple of days, can’t be bothered to do much. Baby was in a horrible position last night, so uncomfortable. Have some tummy pain today, feels like the IBS pain I get when I have an upset stomach but nothing’s happening. Going for a nice dinner tonight for our wedding anniversary :)

MrsNotNice · 19/09/2019 11:22

Me

CarysRed · 19/09/2019 11:31

Is anyone packing anything for their birthing partner? I know DH will get a bit bored if it’s a long labour but he doesn’t read. And I’ll try and sleep as much as possible. So I’m not sure what to pack for him!.

@SRK16 I’m like you, haven’t been able to do much. I hope you enjoy your meal tonight.

MrsNotNice · 19/09/2019 11:34

CarysRed

Zip up hood (for skin to skin)
Underwear and towel - if he gets messy and needs a shower
Pajamas in case he wants to stay the night and was allowed
Swimming shorts in case I get in the water bath and he decides to get in and massage me
Snacks
Pillow cover so he can stuff it with some clothes and sleep on it if he wants to (he isn’t allowed any pillows).
Flip flops
Toiletaries (tooth brush, comb, shampoo)

CarysRed · 19/09/2019 11:47

I’ll get packing @MrsNotNice !. We’ve still got a bloody long list of names too, don’t feel like I’m prepared at all

MrsNotNice · 19/09/2019 11:52

I’m almost 37 weeks. 38 weeks according to my own calculations.

I gave birth to my previous at 37.5 weeks. I feel it could be anytime now.

And I’m not prepared not one bit. Don’t know what’s wrong with me I’m in denial

Frizzy1986 · 19/09/2019 11:55

@carysred I plan on packing nothing for dh. He has packed none of my stuff. If he wants things he can do it himself. Is that harsh?
He can share my toothbrush if I get to stay in the MLU overnight and he stays with me (can't stay over in the ward) and he can sleep in his pants.
I should maybe mention it to him in case he does want to pack anything, but even if I do say something he won't remember to do it. Story of my life!!
It took months of asking for him to even look at the hypnobirthing, of which he has now only watched 4 or so videos and only with me as it was too much effort for him to watch on his own.
