@mrsnotnice hope everything goes well. Thinking of you and the squishy cuddles you should be getting soon enough.

cattaxi · 08/10/2019 19:31

Congratulations @Em39ma! She is adorable. Hope you are recovering well.

That sounds really frustrating @Newmumatlast. But, if it was favourable last week, then it might be worth another try this week.

@Maryrobinson81 I’m so hungry too! And full of heartburn. But, considering ds didn’t engage properly after 20 hours of the induction drip, I’m not expecting this one to get any lower any time soon!

Glad your scan went ok @AngeIoMysterioso. The conflicting advice about a Waterbury has sounds so frustrating. Hopefully things work out the way you want them to. Excellent advice from @frizzy1986.

How are you and Orson today @frizzy1986. Hope you are both doing ok.

That sounds promising @HJWT - if not very uncomfortable!

Good luck @MrsNotNice.

I hope everyone else is ok? Quiet day here. More cleaning & sorting. But I also had a good nap & got stuck into a box set. I’m so uncomfortable now. The cramps I was having yesterday have stopped, thank god!

Frizzy1986 · 08/10/2019 21:02

@cattaxi I'm doing better today thanks. Midwife came to follow up on my jaundice concerns and she said he looks like he's getting better.
He's also put on 65g in 2 days so is now only 6% under birth weight (was 8%) at 8lb 8oz so we are heading in the right direction.
I told her I had had a rough 48hrs and reiterated my concerns about the tight chest, that I still have some red bleeding etc and she was really reassuring. In my head I had convinced myself that I could die even though that sounds so silly.
The FAB team are also going to come out to me sometime this week, just to reassure me of his latch and also some other positions that are good for feeding. I'm going to make use of all the resources on offer to make life easier.

We got Orson registered today so he's official and have registered him with the gp too. Dh is back at work tomorrow so I'm planning on resting as I'm not feeling ready to be alone yet, but with the FIL having shingles i don't really have any other physical support.

Really excited to hear any news about everyone. Something to look out for during the night feeds.

MrsNotNice · 08/10/2019 21:10

Thanks everyone.

Weird question but midwife sent me to roam around the hospital as apparently I’m close but not yet there. She told me to have “dinner”. I’m hungry but not sure...

I craved pizza. Is having food in early labour bad??

Frizzy1986 · 08/10/2019 21:14

He is super lush though

@mrsnotnice eat if you can. It'll give you the energy you need.

SC0508 · 08/10/2019 21:42

Had MW today she's happy with everything, told me he's been on a growing sprout and is now above average but nothing to be concerned about just going to be a big baby unlike his brother who was only 7lb when he was born.

Told her all the symptoms I have had recently and she reassured me this was all fine and that she reckons baby will come before due date (hopefully). Currently baby is 3/5 engaged so glad everything is moving in the right direction 😀 been advised to see GP for my tight chest as she doesn't want me feeling breathless especially with labour being not far off!

Talked through options for if I do go over due date and was really reassuring of everything feel a lot more relaxed now knowing everything is going the way it should be and hearing the heartbeat melts my heart every time 😍

cattaxi · 08/10/2019 21:58

Glad you are feeling better today @Frizzy1986. The first few weeks are so up & down. He is absolutely adorable! All that hair! So cute! I can’t wait to see what ours looks like now.

@mrsnotnice my mate walked all round the hospital, especially up & down the stairs to get all her labours going. Swears it worked every time. If you are hungry, then definitely eat. You will need the energy.

That sounds good @SC0508. Not too long before you get to meet him.

I’ve had some really bad trapped wind tonight. Late pregnancy is so unglamorous!

Slinkyreptile · 08/10/2019 22:13

@Frizzy1986 omg Orson look at that head of hair!! He is gorgeous. This last week has been a blur, can’t believe Finley is 5 days old already!!

@Em39ma congrats, she is beautiful 😍 get lots of mummy cuddles and well deserved rest, you have been through a hell of a lot!

@MrsNotNice you must be so relieved to have your show and finally getting somewhere. Hope it all kicks off for you very soon

@SC0508 hearing the heartbeat never gets old, fingers crossed you go before your due date. You must be desperate to meet baby 👶🏻

@cattaxi that’s the best way, keep busy and you will get there. I had horrendous heartburn for the last week or so before Finley was born. I wonder if that’s maybe a positive sign things are happening

HJWT · 08/10/2019 22:18

Oh god all these beautiful baby pics are making me want to get this baby out! I need baby snuggles 🥰

Newmumatlast · 08/10/2019 23:44

@Maryrobinson81 no not over yet I'm 39+4. Being induced at 40+3 if baby isnt here by then as IVF pregnancy and discussed some studies with consultant about risk increase over 40 weeks (this is the case anyway as placenta can start to break down but theres a bit of a further increase with IVF. They seem to be more concerned once it gets past 41 weeks but my sister works with neo natal and suggested to me I dont wait too long over 40 weeks for better outcomes). I was making really good progress though and everyone thought I'd have her a bit early but seems not!

Newmumatlast · 08/10/2019 23:44

@cattaxi yes you're probably right I should suck it up and have the sweep x

MrsNotNice · 09/10/2019 01:05

I just want some sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeep 😭
This is taking ages. Still at 1-2 cm and my pain threshold is low due to being sleep deprived from last nights stupid spring clean till the early hours.

I’m gonna try sleep between contractions lol.. I wish I can pause them till I get my sleep then come back refreshed.

Em39ma · 09/10/2019 02:57

@MrsNotNice I hope you can get some sleep. Isobel has decided she likes being nocturnal, so sleeping all day and now wants lots of boobies. My gosh my boobs look like someone has beaten me, blood blisters and bruises.

secretlyhermione · 09/10/2019 05:43

Good morning! After the fifth wee wake up decided it was time to get up for good. I'm trying to keep busy so as to not focus too much on the DD so yesterday I went to the cinema and then to the yearly flat meeting. We are looking for a bigger place so will go to a viewing this morning and then we're having dinner with friends in the evening. Apart from some very mild cramps have no other symptoms so just need to ensure I don't obsess about it. 39 weeks tomorrow so hopefully we're almost there!

HJWT · 09/10/2019 08:19

Ahh even when you get the choice of a lie in you wake up because your starving and the baby is kicking the crap out of you to say "FEED ME WOMAN" 🤣 pregnancy life is hard!!

OP posts:
YorkshireIndie · 09/10/2019 08:41

Yes @HJWT! Twice now this week I have woken up at 6.30am(!!!!) hungry. Never quite sure if waking up hungry is a good or bad thing

Figuringitout · 09/10/2019 09:37

Here’s my squishy girl - come on other babies, we want to see you! Good luck today @MrsNotNice - hope you managed to get some sleep.

Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy · 09/10/2019 09:58

Morning!! Just to update you all my baby boy was born yesterday morning at 5.26am.
I woke at 3am with some mild back pains which developed into contractions. My mum came over to stay with my daughter. Arrived at hospital, waters burst spectacularly on arrival which had me jumping into my knees and pushing in a very erm, primal manner. They lifted me into the bed to deliver.
I think they managed to get the plug into the pool but that's it.
I was using the Freya app the whole time which I really credit for such a good labour.
Some grazing but no stitches which is also great.
I am over the moon everyone becuse I was terribly worried about childbirth this time and I really needn't have Smile

Figuringitout · 09/10/2019 10:10

Wow @Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy - congratulations. So pleased to hear that your birth experience was a really positive one in the end. Try to get some rest today.
I made the mistake of being super busy over the weekend and am struggling a bit now with the lack of sleep.

Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy · 09/10/2019 10:13

Thank you @Figuringitout I have only had a few hours since he was born. First off there was a lot of excess adrenaline. Then in the night I couldn't stop staring at him in the dark. Mostly becuse I'm very in love but also making sure he's still breathing Confused

HJWT · 09/10/2019 10:48

@Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy Aw congratulations! Very quick, hope mine goes like that 😝 xx

gkeal3 · 09/10/2019 10:59

@Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy wow congratulations! I hope mine happens like that!! In and out, over and done lol
Well done, enjoy your newborn bubble 🥰

Frizzy1986 · 09/10/2019 13:36

@Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy wow that is super fast. Congratulations!! Glad the birth went so well especially as you were worried.

Everyone else seems to have escaped with only grazes or small tears. So jealous!

@figuringitout what a cutie!!

I've been to the gp today about my tight chest. They've taken bloods to check for iron levels as that's the most likely cause. Any swelling I have in my legs/ankles are exactly the same on both sides (he measured them) so he doesn't think it's anything like a pulmonary embolism. Phew.
Once the bloods come back, if it's not iron levels then I might have to go to hospital for them to run checks. Hoping it's just iron as I can't bear going to hospital.

SC0508 · 09/10/2019 14:24

@Ju5tAgirlstandinginfrontofaboy congratulations enjoy those baby cuddles 😄

@Frizzy1986 hopefully it is just your iron fingers crossed, I also went to see GP today regarding chest pains and was told was likely my iron levels as I had to stop my tablets as I am allergic but they thought this pregnancy wouldn't of took reaction but did.
Also got told there is something inflamed between my breast and back so I was told to take paracetamol for time being and to go back if it gets any worse over the next few days as they don't want to prescribe anything stronger incase I go into labour and can't get the pain relief I need etc.

Have slept all day to rest now woke up so hungry but it hurts to eat so bad so gonna try something slow for now so baby stops growling at me 😂
