Starting a new thread for all of us that find ourselves pregnant again after one or more heartbreaking losses. I know it is really hard to join a pregnancy thread after miscarriage and we all fear the worst will happen again, but let's go on this journey together and hold hands along the way.

This is a safe place for all the ladies on the first pregnancy missed miscarriage thread and for any newcomers who want to join - you are all most welcome! All of the ladies on here have suffered one or more miscarriages and most of us have had particularly difficult losses, such as mmc and other complications. You don't need to be pregnant again to join - you are also most welcome if you have had a loss and are trying again. But we will be sharing scan photos and details of the new pregnancies, in case anyone might find that to be triggering.

Tagging @Catconfusion @Amanda81 @Kiki061190 @3204ECL @Babypending @Ginmonkey84 @MrsMGE and please add anyone else I may have left off. Without further ado, let's start the roll call.

About me: Age 31, trying for my first baby. Previous mmc at 12 weeks in February (hb stopped at 9+4), this turned out to be a partial molar pregnancy and I was monitored by CX hospital for three months. CP in March.

Now 9 weeks, EDD in March, if I make it that long. Oscillating between hope and extreme anxiety every day!

Arh thanks @3204ECL I’m really glad that stuck and is useful for you. I’m strangely doing ok anxiety wise. Even more so now we know we have a sac. It was just a little strange really. You’re right though, not worth dwelling on. I might leave a little comment about it with the scanning centre so they know for future patients. Xx

sadtoday21 · 14/08/2019 08:21

Thanks @3204ECL for reminding us of that! It’s a great mantra to have. You’ve been so calm throughout this whole process - and you too @Catconfusion - I’m just really impressed by your strength and tenacity.

So I’m trying to be strong as well and enjoy this pregnancy, but I’m definitely having a bad day of anxiety today. I am now 9+4 today, which is when I lost my last baby to the mmc. Trying not to think about it, but getting scared now that it’s come so far I just real don’t want to lose it again. My last scan seems like a long time ago and I’m panicking that everything might not be alright in there as we move into these critical last weeks. I’m also really keen to tell our families and we are waiting for the 12 week scan, but just worried we won’t make it there or the results will be bad or something. Sorry for the negativity today everyone, just passing these painful milestones is hard.

How is everyone else doing today? Hope all those lines are still strong @Kiki061190 @BabyPending and @bananamonkey! Thinking of you xxx.

Hey @sadtoday21 totally understand why you would be nervous today of all days. You ladies always remind me that every pregnancy is different and that the odds are in our favour. This one will be different for you ♥️

I actually tested this morning! My first since Sunday and the line is lovely and strong I think? No more testing for me now, I’m leaving it down to fate now and hopefully luck is on our side with this pregnancy ♥️

@Kiki061190 thanks for the reminder - I needed that! It’s easy to forget things like that and just get caught up in the past sometimes. ❤️

I would say that’s a really strong line!! Just put down the tests now, as you say, and leave it to fate. I can’t remember if you are doing any early scans? When are you going to tell people? Xxx

Catconfusion · 14/08/2019 08:51

It’s completely understandable @sadtoday21 I will feel anxious too when I get to key points. It is a new pregnancy. Highly unlikely something will go wrong now. The uneasiness is just human nature. It will pass. Just hang on in there until that next scan. Keep as busy as you can. Before you know it you’ll be telling everyone. Xx

Kiki061190 · 14/08/2019 09:07

@sadtoday21 I’m not going to have any early scans this time. I’m quite happy just to leave things and see what happens which seems odd as last time I couldn’t wait to have an early scan! I’ve actually not even called up yet to arrange my midwife appointment! Is that odd? Last time I called at 4 weeks. When did you ladies call?

@Catconfusion Hi! How is your stomach? Mine is still quite delicate but an improvement on 2 days ago at least!

BabyPending · 14/08/2019 10:37

@sadtoday21 lines are getting darker but I'm convinced still not dark enough for where I am. I'm 4+4 and 17dpo today and these are my lines! They are darker but I'm so terrified because my MMC was due to slow growth/progression of the pregnancy and I'm just convinced it's happening again! Having an HCG blood test tomorrow so I hope to hear where I stand on that side of things too.

@Kiki061190 @Catconfusion oh my gosh I had the most awful stomach for about 3 days just in the morning though! I thought pregnancy was supposed to cause the opposite 🙈 glad I'm not the only one!

Ladies I have another concern, I have had light brown spotting for a few days now, not accompanied by cramping but it's deffo too late for implantation spotting surely! Does anyone have any experience with this?

@sadtoday21 I just wanted to say you are doing so so well sweetheart! Your feelings are completely normal but remember every pregnancy is different. I know I'm a hypocrite saying this after saying I'm worrying my hcg levels are mirroring my last mmc but you've had positive scans and it's looking promising :) I'm so happy for you and I hope you get to a point of excitement soon hun xx

Kiki061190 · 14/08/2019 10:46

@BabyPending the progression is definitely there tho! I wouldn’t be worried. I did have brown spotting my first pregnancy and it was alright at that point. It wasn’t related to my miscarriage in any way so I wouldn’t worry! I’ve not had any spotting yet with this one but it’s still very early days.... only 5 weeks tomorrow!

bananamonkey · 14/08/2019 11:15

@sadtoday21 I’m not sure I’m ready to join this thread yet till after AF would be due given the experience of all the chemicals so far. I don’t want to upset on the other thread with my ridiculous constant testing though 🙈

Catconfusion · 14/08/2019 11:54

Hey @Kiki061190 it’s about the same really. Glad yours is a bit better. I feel reassured by the doctor that it’s normal and I don’t need to treat it. Xx

@BabyPending those are brilliant lines. Try not to worry. Spotting can be normal. Do you think your doctor would try you on progesterone? There was a big Tommy’s trial showing it helped protect the pregnancy if spotting. Xx

BabyPending · 14/08/2019 12:25

@Kiki061190 @Catconfusion thank you for your input ❤️ I'm having bloods taken by the hospital tomorrow so will ask if progesterone is included in the hcg blood test! I find GPs in the UK really don't care about early monitoring until you have had 3 MC and have been referred to a fertility specialist! I'm trying to push though! Going to request an early scan when my blood results are back. And thank you for the Tommy's info, that's reassuring!!

Hope everyone is keeping well xx

sadtoday21 · 14/08/2019 13:08

@Babypending let us know how your blood test go, really hope the hcg is doubling nicely for you. I think your line progression is really good and some spotting can be completely normal. Fx you have a good appointment tomorrow! Xxx

@bananamonkey I completely understand - it was really hard for me to join a pregnancy thread in the beginning too. And I didn't want to upset anyone on our other thread, so I just felt kind of in between both and a bit alone tbh. So this is just a long way of saying you are totally welcome on either thread to talk about any fears or concerns you may have, whenever you feel ready. I'm thinking of you and really hoping that it sticks. You deserve this so much Xxx.

@Catconfusion Only 2 weeks and you’ll have your scan! This is exciting ♥️

@BabyPending I honestly think your progression looks great! It’s so hard at this point because you don’t really ‘feel’ pregnant. I don’t feel pregnant at all! Hopefully symptoms kick in soon

sadtoday21 · 14/08/2019 14:34

@Kiki061190 I think it’s great you can go without an early scan, more props to you! I called the midwife at 4 weeks again this time, but only because I wanted to get the early scan. The booking appt always seems a bit pointless to me tbh. Just want to know that baby is ok. How’s it going with the symptoms?

Yay @Catconfusion only two more weeks to go! I have to say that you are much more calm about it than me and I really admire that! Hope you are feeling good physically well too ❤️.

@sadtoday21 sorry today has been such a hard day for you, I can totally understand why. Hope you are feeling a bit better, like some others have said this is a new pregnancy and in the words of @Catconfusion today you are pregnant. Sending lots of love and positivity your way 💕

@BabyPending I think your tests look great. I had spotting at around 6 weeks for about 10 days. I sent me in to total meltdown as I thought everything was over again. The GP was great and managed to get me a scan at the EPU that day which was when we first got to see our little bean and its heart beating away. I don't think I slept properly for at least 2 weeks out of fear but it turned out to be ok (so far)

@bananamonkey Lovely to see you here, totally understand how you feel but we are here for you. How far along are you?

A little update from me... we had our scan today at 15+1 and everything was looking good. Little bean was moving and stretching lots and seems to be a fan of sucking his or her thumb! Feeling much better after the scan and hoping this relief will stay for a few days at least.

Thanks @3204ECL, I think I just really need to have another scan early next week. Trying to carry on as normal though and not give in to the anxiety, as hard as it is. That is a gorgeous scan photo - congrats!!! Really cute that you could see the thumb sucking! I take it from your post that you still couldn't tell the gender from the scan - any guesses? I think I read that 16 weeks is the earliest you can find out. Are you excited to know or will you wait? Very happy for you!! Xxx

BabyPending · 14/08/2019 15:37

@3204ECL thank you so much for sharing, it's really reassuring ❤️ what beautiful scan pics, so clear! Well done sweetie ur doing an amazing job and bub looks really well!! Xx

@Kiki061190 thank you hun, I really hope so! I know what you mean, I can't wait to start feeling something, although I have had a lot of uterus twinges earlier than my last 2 pregnancies I hope it's a good sign! I have moments of feeling a little woozy but I can't let myself assume it's nausea! Never had that with previous pregnancies! I hope we are bump buddies, we are literally a few days apart! Xx

3204ECL · 14/08/2019 15:38

@sadtoday21 we're pretty sure it's a boy but the sonographer said it was still too early to confirm it! Should have waited a week really.

I know everyone is different but the scans have been such a massive help for me in managing my anxiety. I found trying to carry on as normal almost impossible at times because I couldn't think about or concentrate on anything else at all. If you think it will help maybe have another one next week like you said. I have always left it until as late as possible to book the scans through fear of jinxing it (which is ridiculous I know!) but once they're booked I find it then gives you another little milestone to get to as well. xxx

Kiki061190 · 14/08/2019 15:48

@BabyPending I’ve had a slightly uncomfortable pain on my right side almost and was worried about ectopic but also have twinges on the left side. The right side almost feels like a sprained muscle if that makes any sense?

Catconfusion · 14/08/2019 15:53

@Kiki061190 I had a similar pain before I was pregnant low on my right side. That’s why I got referred for the ultrasound. It’s been worse since my bfp. Doctor says it’s ibs related. Maybe that’s the case for you. I worried about ectopic but now I know it’s my bowel xx

Kiki061190 · 14/08/2019 16:19

@Catconfusion Thank you so much! That makes me feel better ♥️ I’ve had IBS since I was a teen but it hasn’t played up too much in the last couple of years. Feels like it has since I’ve been preggers!

bananamonkey · 14/08/2019 16:21

What lovely pictures @3204ECL! So pleased for you.

I’m not really here 😎 Technically 4+2 but not really because only 13 dpo. At the moment just hoping to get past Friday without it disappearing. I’ve definitely had more symptoms this time.

Weirdly I’ve been getting ligament pain in my groin when I stand up which I remember well from my first pregnancy but it’s way too early for that, although I did read that the corpus luteum can also produce relaxin so who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

BabyPending · 14/08/2019 16:30

@Kiki061190 I've had twinges in my side too, almost all over! Everything is moving and adjusting I guess. I hope it improves for you hun.

@bananamonkey you are 4DPO behind me so we are close! :) congrats on the BFP. I'm too on a knife edge mine will disappear but also nervy mine aren't dark enough but feedback from these ladies says they're looking okay! We are always going to think the worst aren't we! I know your anxiety improves with each darker test!

Catconfusion · 14/08/2019 16:34

Amazing scan @3204ECL congratulations. Such lovely news! Xx

@Kiki061190 I hadn’t had ibs symptoms for 6 years until my first pregnancy. I’ve been suffering since. I think it’s the progesterone. Doc said not to worry just hydrate as much as possible. Xx
