Hi all
Mind if I join? I’ve been lurking for a while but too scared to join after some spotting.

Had an early reassurance scan today and had the amazing news that I’m just under 6 weeks, 4mm and a heartbeat seen!
I now feel like I can join a pregnancy thread if you’ll have me?
Due 22nd March although this may have moved out by a couple of days.

Naylor19 · 31/07/2019 11:53

@ELW85

That's great news, congrats! It's so difficult to know whether to get excited or talk about things when it's so early on but I've found it's actually helped me a great deal! I had some spotting Monday and had a early scan today. I'm a little further behind than you and no heartbeat yet but hoping that will change next week at my scan!

Is this your first pregnancy? Smile x

Jampot36 · 31/07/2019 12:08

@ELW85 thats amazing news congratulations! How are you feeling? We have the same due date! X

Jampot36 · 31/07/2019 12:08

@Naylor19 how are you doing? X

Naylor19 · 31/07/2019 12:22

@Jampot36

I'm holding up ok, it was disappointing not to see a heartbeat today and to be further behind than we expected but otherwise the measurements are all looking right together which is something. I'd hard when your counting down to the end of the dreaded 12 weeks! Obviously the cyst is a slight worry she said it could pop on it's own and would be painful but shouldn't effect baby.

How are you? x

Jampot36 · 31/07/2019 12:27

@Naylor19 at least you know what it is now and next week should give you the extra reassurance. Are you still in pain?

I'm ok, feeling pretty tired and anxious today. Just discovered tuna is not my friend at the moment. I seem to have a couple of good days then a sleepy one!

barnyb · 31/07/2019 12:32

@ELW85 congratulations 🦋

ELW85 · 31/07/2019 12:35

@Naylor19 - that’s exactly how I feel, like I’m waiting for a certain point to let myself be happy and excited as I’m worried it’ll just suddenly get taken away, but I also think I’m in danger of spending 9 months like that and it’s just not right.
Whatever will happen, will happen anyway and me worrying won’t change that so I’m going to try and relax.

Keeping everything crossed for you for your next scan but sounds like great news so far!

And yes, my first - is it yours? X

Naylor19 · 31/07/2019 12:36

@Jampot36

Exactly, I'm hopeful next week will bring us some good news Smile on and off pain, it comes and goes. They've gave me antibiotics too so I've got those for the week. Seems to be a little better since starting them on Monday.

Aw! I still have super strong sense of smell and can't stand some things anymore! I had my first proper episode of morning sickness this morning (although wondering if just nerves?) I'm so drained at the minute I keep napping in the day x

Naylor19 · 31/07/2019 12:38

@ELW85 it's so hard isn't it! I want to enjoy every moment of it after waiting so long to actually experience it! Im trying to have the same outlook as there's no point worrying daily for 9 months! What will be, will be.

Thanks I'm hoping so! A relief to find out it's not an ectopic pregnancy. Aw how exciting, yes my first too :) x

ELW85 · 31/07/2019 13:01

Thank you @barnyb!

@Jampot36 - thank you! I’m feeling ok, just really sore boobs and tired all the time. I haven’t been sick yet but I get nauseous really randomly! I’ll be in the car and feel like throwing up and the next minute it’s gone?!
How are you feeling?

@Naylor19 - it is really hard to relax but I’m sure we’ll get there :)
How are you feeling in yourself?

Naylor19 · 31/07/2019 13:06

@ELW85 we will :)
I'm not to bad, tired and a little nauseous but the pains not to bad today. Cramping this morning but it's wore of since.
How are you finding it all? It's so strange having super sense of smell and being constantly tired isn't itHmm x

Yvonne1988 · 31/07/2019 13:40

I find myself feeling sick during the day and I didn't get that last time. Trying to act like everything is normal and I just need to lie down.

Jampot36 · 31/07/2019 13:52

@ELW85 I'm ok mostly. Having another tired day today, could fall asleep right now! Bit nausea today but none up til now and its not too bad. My boobs were so sore last week, thats worn off a bit but they're easily a cup bigger already! I find the hardest thing is slowing down and resting, I'm not great at doing nothing but I'll have to learn!

@Naylor19 i think its hard to not worry, ive not been too bad til today but im trying to not be too excited just in case which is a bit sad, we were told id struggle to get pregnant 3 years ago so now that i am i cant quite believe its real!

ELW85 · 31/07/2019 14:38

@Naylor19 - I think I’ll enjoy it more now but part of me does wonder why I’ve not been physically sick yet and if it’ll kick in?
But being tired all of the time and super sore boobs is enough to contend with I guess 😂

@Jampot36 - I go to the gym quite a bit so the tiredness is wiping me out for that too, so I totally get what you mean about slowing down!

Jampot36 · 31/07/2019 14:44

@ELW85 me too. Id usually go 4-5 times a week and thats just not happening at all, then its making sure you dont push too hard and all that, its hard to deal with not being able to and i think mentally exercise is so good it would be really useful right now!

I just got my scan date through...9th september cannot come quick enough!

blondie87 · 31/07/2019 14:52

Wow this thread moves quick! Welcome to @ELW85 I’m glad you had a successful scan.
I saw the midwife yesterday and disappointingly I don’t think I’ll get my screening/dating scan before we move as I’ll be 10-11 weeks and then we’re away so I might have to pay privately for the tests and scans which is going to be expensive. Don’t want to miss the window for the combined screening. Feel sick 75% of the time and struggling to run round after two pre-schoolers! Can I ask @Cantrip what it was like going from 2-3?

ELW85 · 31/07/2019 14:57

@Jampot36 - totally hear you! I’m constantly looking at my heart rate and making sure I’m not doing too much.
I’ve not had mine through yet, but I’ll follow-up with the midwife after today.

@blondie87 - thank you! Am I right in thinking the screening has got to be done before 12 weeks? Trying to remember but too tired, haha!!

Cantrip · 31/07/2019 15:00

@blondie87 - I think 1-2 kids is the biggest shock, because your original child has to get used to sharing you, and you have to get used to dividing your attention. After that I don’t think it’s too bad 😁

Of course, I may find that 4-5 is the hardest jump!!

blondie87 · 31/07/2019 15:06

Where I am they do screening between 12-14 weeks although I’ve read they can do it earlier so fingers crossed they scan me.

@cantrip I’ve heard 3 is the most stressful but 4+ you reach critical mass and it’s easier so I’m sure you’ll be fine!

Cantrip · 31/07/2019 15:13

Blondie87 - well, I think there’s a pretty good indication that I didn’t find having 3 TOO stressful, in that my smallest gap is between 3 & 4. They are only 15 months apart, and yes, 4 was planned!!

Naylor19 · 31/07/2019 15:20

@ELW85 don't worry I think that's natural when you've been trying for a long time, this is our third year trying and we started clomid two months ago so it's a blessing the treatment seems to have done the job at fixing whatever was wrong! I understand that I feel like I've been symptom spotting since my day of ovulation Blush it's hard not too compare yourself but everyone's different, just be thankful your not experiencing it yet and enjoy it while it lasts! Lol x

blondie87 · 31/07/2019 15:56

That is v reassuring @Cantrip!

Jampot36 · 31/07/2019 17:01

Can someone please tell me..does nausea just start? No warning or anything? Fine this morning but these last couple of hours I'm feeling really queasy. Is this how it works?

hopefulowl · 31/07/2019 18:05

Hi again all, thanks for tagging me.

Welcome to all the new BFPs!

Just been catching up on the thread.

I've been having an awful couple of days, literally been in bed and struggling with nausea constantly. Can't eat, it seems like I'm off all food. Have been forcing myself to eat small things like crackers and crumpets / bread, else I know I'll feel worse. I've just absolutely crashed, I've no idea how I'd be coping if I wasn't on school holidays. I couldn't work feeling like this.

Peppermint tea helps, but any other tips - please tell me what works for you...?
