@FuckMyUterus no definitely not, I am all about the surprise! I think I would definitely regret it if I found out. Just hearing that all is well was enough for me!

Scans seem to take forever to come round don't they?! Waiting is honestly the worst. They told me today that this would be my last scan if everything goes well, so fingers crossed it does! Next time I see the baby it'll be here for real!

jadem1990 · 20/08/2018 20:50

My scan isn't until next Thursday, I'm excited but a little nervous. Hope everything goes ok.

We went against my original plan of 'waiting until after 20 weeks to buy anything' as we saw a 3 in 1 travel system we liked. We have bought the new oyster coming out in october. We decided it was best to spread the cost as babies are expensive.... it's our first so we were surprised at all the prices. Especially when I originally loved the 1300 egg pram!

I hope everyone is doing ok and enjoying pregnancy.

chickita04 · 21/08/2018 12:03

Hey ladies hope everyone is feeling well!!

I'm 18 weeks tomorrow. I think I've felt some movement over last week but I'm not 100% sure if it's real or in my head!

Does anyone know how frequent midwife appointments are?
My next one is after 20 week scan but wondered how regularly they are after that?
My midwife is only in surgery Tuesday and I wanted to get my future appts up till I finish with end it December booked. I'm self employed beauty therapist so my diary is already busy in dec!

Thamantha · 21/08/2018 12:53

@chikita04 the NHS website has a guide (though local practice may vary, I have a similar guide in my maternity notes).

Has anyone had the quad screening test? Mine has come back with elevated AFP levels, which combined with low amniotic fluid is indicative of IUGR (growth restriction). I'm so worried :(

Kate123cl · 21/08/2018 14:57

@FuckMyUterus I don't think I have... my friend was told IUGR and they just booked her in for tons of growth scans and monitored her loads. It's been picked up early for you so that's a good sign. By 36 weeks or so the baby was all caught up and she was induced. Her baby weighed 6lbs something!

FuckMyUterus · 21/08/2018 15:06

Oh that sounds positive :)
I just wish I could relax and enjoy this pregnancy instead of every few weeks being reduced to a neurotic mess. First the bleeding and cramps, then them telling me my sac is small, then the low amniotic fluid, now this! I just feel like I've not had anything positive to say about the pregnancy so far!

Kate123cl · 21/08/2018 15:16

@FuckMyUterus I know what you mean!Sad it's definitely not all fun! Just full of worry and panic most of the time. I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine, there's loads of positive stories about it on the internet tooSmile fx for you x

FuckMyUterus · 21/08/2018 15:49

Thank you, the ladies on this thread have saved my sanity many times. This baby has got to be a girl with the amount of trouble he/she is causing!

GinGeum · 21/08/2018 17:47

What is the quad screening test? I can’t keep up with all these tests! I do hope you start getting some positive news soon Fuck

Had 20 week scan today. All okay. Had to leave the room twice for a 15 minute walk around for one particular heart measurement, really didn’t want to have to go back for one picture! But she managed to get it in the end. We are having a boy Smile

cryptonaut · 21/08/2018 18:06

@FuckMyUterus it's not the same situation but hope to provide a good news story for you. My dad and step mum had twin girls through surrogacy. It was a bit of a troublesome pregnancy. The surrogate had pre-eclampsia and due to the method of conception and them being twins mixed with the surrogates health concerns they were delivered 6 weeks early. One was 3lb13 and the other 4lb1 at birth. They are now very happy and healthy 6 year olds, very active and very intelligent.

I hope it gets better for you soon.

FuckMyUterus · 21/08/2018 18:59

gingeum because they couldn't get my NT measurement at my 12 week scan, they had to do a blood test called the quad screening.
Congratulations on your boy, hoping against hope that I can come back tomorrow afternoon and let you all know that everything is okay, and maybe add the first girl to the group!

FuckMyUterus · 21/08/2018 19:02

cryptonaut thank you for the words of encouragement, there is still a small chance that NOTHING is wrong and that baby is just a bit troublesome, however I'd rather not go in expecting the best case scenario tbh. IUGR, whilst a fairly serious problem is not the worst case scenario and it's a lot better than some of the other outcomes.

Curlypop · 21/08/2018 20:49

I had a early scan to find out the sex- it's a girl!!! Eeeeek

FuckMyUterus · 21/08/2018 21:56

Congratulations curlypop first girl!!!

purplesmiler · 22/08/2018 08:58

Thinking of you today @fuck fingers crossed all goes well.

I haven't been on for a few weeks ladies as have been away. I'm 17 weeks today and have a bump in amongst my belly. Congratulations to those who have had scans mine isn't for a good few weeks yet. I still feel sicky at times but am used to it now. Will be glad when it cools down again been too warm the past few days.

FuckMyUterus · 22/08/2018 09:32

Thanks purplesmiler waiting for bus to the hospital now, appointment is at 10.30 but I'd rather be there early.

loumsc · 22/08/2018 10:08

@purplesmiler is your due date 30th Jan? Im 17 weeks today too :)

Can anyone add me to the facebook group? I find this app quite hard to use on my phone so feel a facebook group would be better for me

SuperVeggie · 22/08/2018 10:28

Hope all goes well today @fuck I've got my fingers and toes crossed for you.

We have booked a private scan for Friday, so hopefully we will be able to find out the gender!

cryptonaut · 22/08/2018 10:32

Another boy to add to the group! scan went well this morning. Had to be tilted backwards to move baby up slightly as he was lying a bit too low to get a good view of the brain, there was some jiggling going on too to encourage him to move around.
Had the whooping cough vaccination as well, not particularly pleasant.

Thinking of you today @FuckMyUterus

purplesmiler · 22/08/2018 11:09

@loumsc yes we are due date buddies Smile

I am in a Facebook group but it wasn't through here it's a due in Jan one. Is there one for here?

Buttercup53 · 22/08/2018 11:25

Also thinking of you @fuck hope it’s all positive news. Congratulations to everyone who has found out about their babies at the scans, very exciting :)

I have a first consultant appointment tomorrow and wondered if anyone could tell me what to expect? I’m there partly for mental health and partly as a result on my 20 week scan, so I’m not sure if it’s gojng to be talking about birth options yet or just checking in? Appreciate everyone is different but if there’s any common trends at these things, I like to be prepared.

GinGeum · 22/08/2018 12:48

Hope all is okay fuck Flowers

I keep feeling this awful guilt about being pregnant Sad it took a long time for it to happen for us and we made friends along the way who were in a similar boat. I have friends who still haven’t been able to get pregnant and I just feel so guilty that we have. I’m deliberately keeping it all off social media (for our own privacy reasons as well as trying to be tactful) but I just wish I could shake this feeling.

FuckMyUterus · 22/08/2018 13:48

It's not good news I'm afraid ladies, so I'm gonna drop off the thread. I wish you all happy and healthy pregnancies and lovely squidgy babies.

GinGeum · 22/08/2018 14:01

Oh fuck I’m so sorry Sad
