Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I know exactly where you are coming from. My family were the same last time, pushing to tell everybody, then guess who were some of the first people to say "maybe you should have kept it to yourself a bit longer" This time I will lie to everybody as long as possible or until I completely trip myself up which is very likely.
Hope you feel better knowing you haven't got the only mad family out there!

MrsMcJnr · 10/07/2007 11:31

Thanks Clairebear. We kept it a secret last time and it was so exhausting after 10 weeks to tell them that we were pregnant but that we had lost it. After that, they asked weekly if we were pregnant again and that was stressful in itself. So we decided to tell them this time so they?d leave us alone. Grrrrrrrrr! In my very mean moments, I am glad we are moving to Spain and far away from them. My folks live over there and I?ve got used to the space from family, as a result I find my in-laws stifling. They are retired and have nothing to do and expect us to have them over all the time and I just can?t do it. DH and I both work full time and I resent having to spend so much time with his family ? oh dear still ranting!

MrsMcJnr · 10/07/2007 12:08

So quiet today - anymore about to pop?

seaside72 · 10/07/2007 12:44

Hi everyone - I'm back home - yippee!! (and more importantly back online -!) Now have the mammoth task of trying to catch up - I think when I left there were only 200 or so posts ! Might take some time.

Anyway hello everyone - have missed you all!.

All is good with me - am knackered from working 14 days straight through but elated after 12 week scan yesterday - its amazing. Will bore you with details later but essentially all is good so far.

Anyway - am going to attempt to catch up!

Chooster · 10/07/2007 18:38

BODDERS!!!!! Whats going on... Have only just been on here for 5 mins and the suspence is now killing me too... I wonder if she's having a nice cuddle as we speak. Hopefully you've got / are having the home birth you want..... Ooooooohhhhhhhh..... Whats going on!!!?

I'll be scooting to hospital as soon as anything starts so I can get my antibiotics connected up, so I'll have to INSIST on a room with internet access so we can all share the pain I think you lot would be better than any doula - As long as you didn't do anything selfish like go off and have dinner or something.

Good to hear more form you Seaside and Iwillbe and welcome clairebear! Great to see you on here

All is good with me - no sign of LO just yet and I dont think he has engaged yet... I'll try and post a bit more from now - Hvae ben busy working my way through my list of things to do... It makes me realise how much MN I did when I was working

fettleandminifettle · 10/07/2007 21:38

Hi All

Bodders - it's been over 24 hours!! Where are you??!!
Only joking - we're probably far from your mind at the moment. Hope all gone/going well - can't wait to hear your news!

MrsMc - "push in your bottom" was an awful phrase from Dawn's labour scenes in Eastenders recently! Although i have to say the best advice I was ever given about giving birth pre-DD, was when it comes to pushing, you have to pretend you've been constipated for 9 months and push like that! And that is pretty much what it does feel like, if I remember rightly!! I assume "push in your bottom" is saying a similar thing, but when I heard it, I wondered why does she have to pull in her bottom, like some pilates move!! Sorry to hear your day wasn't good this morning - hope it got better?

greedy - you really are excited aren't you? Still got 11 weeks to go us - can't quite believe it is coming up so quickly. Have so much to do before then, including move house!

Chooster - can you imagine your DH's and midwife's faces when you ask for internet access so you can contact your on-line birthing partners!!!

Honey - how you doing today?

Firsty - feeling a bit better today? We should open some predictions on whether you or Chooster will get there first!

Seaside - welcome back - glad all going well with you.

Hi Babymad, Kitkat, Clairbear and any!one else I've missed. I've had an awful pg day today, with regards to forgetting what I'm doing, what I'm saying and what anyone is called! Pretty embarrassing really![oops!]

Anyway, hope you all have good Wednesdays - nearly the weekend again, those workers amongst us!!

take care

sorry to keep you all hanging on like that!

It all happened soooooo quckly! MWs left at 9.30pm after checking me over - a few twinges but nothing major. so thought i ought to pack hospital bag by 10.30 we were calling the mws back again, and by the time they arrived at 11.15 (i foolishly had told them not to rush!) I was ready to push!!! 25 mins later, a beautiful baby girl popped out (7lb 6oz)! no time for gas and air or anything, just 2 paracetamol taken earlier!

As Dp put it, "if Carlsberg did labour...."

Feel great but knackerered. No name definite as yet.... still mulling a few over.

She is delicious though - cant stop sniffing her peach-fuzz little head!

Will post more soon, but better get some kip.

DD is delighted with her little brother (as she keeps calling her )

Bodkin · 10/07/2007 22:43
