Hi all

Hope you had a good weekend?

Greedy - Was supposed to be watching The Constant Gardener, but it stopped working about 3rd of the way through, which was really frustrating!! I've read the book though, so know what happens.

Babymad - hope you are better soon - infections doesn't sound much fun.

Really really not looking forward to work tomorrow - want to go on maternity leave now and leave them all to it, but that's not very fair. i'm sure this week can't be as bad as last week was.

BB has a very interesting twist this week, Greeds - but I won't spoil it yet. can't see the attraction in Liam, but he is lovely!

I'm gettting very annoyed wtih Chiggy - he is so condescending to her, but she just keeps going back to him - why, why, why???

Right, bed time now - tired - hopefully a good night's sleep will make tomorrow go better. Got another new starter tomorrow - let's hope she doesn't fall asleep on me. Although the girl last week apologised and said that she was in pain due to a trapped nerve and wasn't sleeping well (she should try being 28 weeks pg, with SPD!!!). Actually she is also the same girl who said that pg women were scatty (think I told you all that!). Hopefully she's not thinking that about me, as she must have noticed I'm pg now [I hope she doesn't think I'm just fat!!!]

Sleep well everyone.

honeyapple - i tried to catch up on the due in oct thread and i saw your post! i agree COMPLETELY! that womans list o what to buy did seem ever so slightly over the top!!!! all that stuff would cost a fortune!!! i was going to respond and tell her why NOT to buy it all, but i didnt have the energy!!

i cant wait to catch up on BB now fettle! have fun at work tomorrow with your new starter! is your baby round the right way yet by the way? mine is breach at the mo and i know it has load of time to turn, but the kicks in the bladder feel so weird!!! i feel like i am going to piss myself everytime she kicks!!

KitKat30 · 09/07/2007 08:41

Hello girls! Am in the office early with no-one about so I've decided to have a long overdue catch up with you lovely ladies!!

OMG - I cant believe we're in July already, 3 of us about to pop, kitchen extensions nearly finished, houses nearly bought (that's me by the way! ), and holidays well and truly a distant memory... I've missed so much of your news and chat!

Had a quick read of all the posts and from the sounds of things everyone is doing well? I'm OK - as you know super busy at work, but hurrah, only 4 weeks to go!!! Can't wait! Our house stuff seems to be going OK (touch wood ) and we hope to complete towards the end of July... as long as we move before the baby is born that's all I care about! Feeling OK in myself - hips are a bit achey and am having terrible trouble getting comfortable to have a good night's sleep - nothing unusual, just the usual pg woman's complaints!!! I am enormous, the bump is huge, but I'm rather loving it to be honest. Noticed a stretchmark or two on my belly though... Ah well, could be worse - I could have Chooster's VVV!

Good grief, that was all a bit me, me, me...! I promise to keep in touch better from now on! You'll just have to put up with my crapness for a couple of weeks longer - once I'm on mat leave (yippeee!) I'll be all yours!!

Hope everyone is OK and enjoying the sunshine?!?

morning all!

Greedy- glad you had a good time at Centreparcs... sorry to hear of the row with DH though. That women you went with sounds kind of irritating though! She should have realised she was going on a bit...BTW I dont seem to be getting any special treatment in my house, well not yet anyway. Mowed the lawn yesterday, put up shelves in the bathroom, DH cook dinner???

Had a fab day yesterday as the Tour de France came right near our house. It was a real carnival atmosphere with everyone out with chairs by the side of the road, and flags... kids were chalking the roads with messages to the cyclists. Was very good fun. There was a friend of a friend who came with her 3 wk old baby boy! Kind of weird to think I will have one of those soon...
And the weather was finally gorgeous.

Babymad- sorry to hear you've not been well, but exciting to hear scan all ok- is that the one that gives you the green light for your home birth?

Chooster/ Bodders/ Kitkat/ Firsty lots of love to your big (and not so big) bellies .

Mrsmc- I'm sure the nuchal scan will be fine.

Got to remember to pick my newphew up from playgroup today...

Havent a clue about BB or Eastenders... but glad you are having some nice sex dreams Greedy! Had a good shag last night in real life...(with DP!)

MrsMcJnr · 09/07/2007 12:03

Greedy how lovely to see you, it seems like an age since you and I last spoke! Hope you had a lovely holiday hon how are things with you? DH and I are no fine, moody got didn?t realise how upset he?d made me and said he didn?t really mean it. Sorry about your rows with DH, I guess the hormones can be blamed for most rows can?t they? When am I in the second trimester? Is it next week? (week 14) bring on the blooming! just being nosey but who is it on the October list with the big list to splash cash on? Hope your baby turns on its own Greedy.

Hello Chooster love the zoo! My ex loved the tigers and I bought him a year?s sponsorship and pass and we used to go there a lot. Kind of spoils anything to do with Tigger for me now though Actually, I saw him for the first time in 6 1/2 years (and only the 2nd time since we broke up) on Friday. He must have seen me first as he lowered his brolly so I couldn?t see his face ? at least I was bronzed even if I do look more fat than pregnant! Thanks for your wise words re DH and the row. Sounds like there is real nesting going on in your house ? must be great to have DH there with you too! is DS still going to nursery? Still a little nervous about the nuchal and associated blood test ? after all, that is still a screening test and we?ll still get a probability back and if it is anything but low risk, I?ll not be able to do anything to reduce that risk ratio. Trying to stay very positive though

Hi Fettle hope christening was fun ? I?ve already planned our baby?s in my head (I know, I know ) I want it to be in the little church in Spain that we married in I was in there last week lighting a candle to guide my little one safely to me The secret to Edinburgh Zoo is to take the train/bus thing to the top and then walk down. I love the African planes at the top anyway so always like to start there. Liked that film by the way, very annoying that it stopped working. I went to the cinema years ago to see Philadelphia and there was a power cut 10 mins before the end ? I couldn?t bring myself to go through it all again! Hope work is ok today

Hey Babymad lovely to hear from you ? so sorry about your flu and infections, get well very soon! Don?t be a stranger x

Hello Kit Kat we?ve missed you! How exciting about your house I wish ours was sold! Sounds like you are getting on well so pleased

Hey Honeyapple sounds like your weekend was fun, my aunt lives in Kent and said the same about where she lives. Thanks for your faith in my Beanie

Yay! Welcome and many congratulations Clairebear ? that?s lovely and very nice for me to have you to talk to again. Tell us more! How far along are you, any idea of EDD? the best advice I was given was to try to take each day as it comes, as the weeks go on, you?ll feel more secure

clairebear123 · 09/07/2007 15:04

Hi and thank you. Have a lot of reading to do to catch up on everyone's news. I am only just coming up to 6 weeks EDD 2nd March! very early days I know and I am trying not to get ahead of myself. Have just returned from hols and started noticing the signs after the first week. Wasn't sure if it was just the heat making me feel strange.

Am very interested to know about early scans though? Are they likely to let me have one or do they prefer you to wait?

Bodkin · 09/07/2007 15:22

Hi all. just a quick post as DD is itching to get on the pooter and is hanging around waiting for me to finish!

Firsty - you don't know how true your comment about putting an apple corer and whisk in my hospital bag is pmsl!!! Still, this week is ALL about the baby (well, from tomorrow when DD is at pre-school and I've got a few hours to sort stuff out)

Congrats Clairbear and welcome hope you're feeling fine and not suffering with MS too badly - do you have DC already or will this be your first?

Welcome back Greedy. Glad you had a good time. I know what you mean about feeling like DH/P just expects you to carry on as normal. Mind you, I guess I'd get pretty frustrated if mine kept telling me to put my feet up and not do anything, so they can't really win!

Hi Kitkat! Glad to hear you are well and have got your mat leave coming up fairly soon!

Hi Babymad - glad you're feeling better

Hi Fettle, Honey, MrsMc, Chooster and anyone else Ive missed. Better go and let DD get on to Cbeebies I suppose.....

MrsMcJnr · 09/07/2007 15:45

Lovely Clairebear given your recent history, I would have thought your GP/EPU would give you an early scan to reassure you/make sure all is ok. Worth asking.

Hello Fettle ? pack that bag

BabyMadandBIGbump · 09/07/2007 17:24

Hi Ladies, still feeling like s%£t but feel like I'm getting there, Doctor has put me on some antibiotics so hopefully I'll be on full form again soon.

37 weeks on Friday cant wait as that means that my "Home Birth" window opens up. The scan! it went very well, placenta has moved out the way, I asked while there if they could check and put in my book weather or not baby is head down and a good weight so that I don't have to go back in (what would of been then) 10 days time just to check these things out, and she did bless, baby is head down, 6lb in weight as of last week, bloody "long legs" (been saying it for weeks now that LO has very long legs no one believed me) the femur is well above the top line were as everything else is either on or "just" above normal line, DS's loved seeing what they could of the baby, as baby's head was so far down that you could just see his/her mouth and tip of the nose, Bless.

MW came to see me this morning everything is fine baby head is well down, MW was pleased that all is looking great for the HB so I've now got the green light as of Friday, but she has told me when to and when not to go into labor due to her working on that day or not, as she really wants to be the one that delivers LO. Made a list this week of things I want to do before baby comes, IE dentist, hair and stuff, so hopefully fingers crossed, Friday comes, list done, feeling better and than go though this list "ways to start off labor" that the MW (I love my MW) has nicely given me! Been on my "birthing ball" very very comfortable and DH thinks it's funny,

I'm off to take some pain killers head is still banging, I'll tried and get back on later!

fettleandminifettle · 09/07/2007 18:44

Must get on my birthing ball, Iwillbe!! I'm sure it made my labour easier with DD as she was in the right position for birth! Glad your home birth window is rapidily approaching and all seems good with you, despite the antibiotics.

MrsMc - I think you meant, Bodders to pack her kitchen utensil bag ! I'm not planning on having this baby for at least another 10 weeks (still on for an early birth Greeeds? don't fancy 2 weeks overdue if that's all the same with you!!). Poey ex's, Mrs - maybe he had a big spot on his nose that he didn't want you to see that's why he lowered his umbrella! Besides, sounds as if you're DH is lovely, despite his e-mail grumpiness! I know my DH is great and I don't appreciate him enough, but he doesn't half grump at times and his vice his hanging up the phone on me, which I hate!

anyway, love to all, I'll be back later - have to go and supervise DD's supper. Just seen her cycling home out of the window [proud mother alert] she's getting so good! I'm so proud of her, time to start upping the stabilisers at bit, I think!!![proud mother alert over!]

bakc later

NEWSFLASH NEWSFLASH

DP sent to Somerfield to get some "labour snacks" in

Will keep you posted!

fettleandminifettle · 09/07/2007 20:28

Wow bodders - have you packed your bag?!!!!!

How exciting? hey, if you're having a home birth, we can get hourly updates!!!!

thinking of you!!!

fettleandminifettle · 09/07/2007 20:43

Hello everyone else

Welcome Clairbear! Glad to see another new face on here. hope you are feeling reassuringly sick and tired!

Greedy - I think my notes from my trip to the hospital last week said baby was transverse! neither up nor down, will explain why I'm so wide, rather than out front!!!. I think he's lying with his head on my left, as when I lie on my right side in bed, he goes mad, so I can only think that he's complaining that he's upside down! But i can also sympathasise with bladder kicks though! Hope you've caught up with BB now.

Honey - wish I'd been in London yesterday. Rest of my family were there watching it and it did sound fun. not quite sure, how we've suddenly become part of the Tour de France - surely the name is on the tin, and we are not in France, unless I've missed something!

Firsty - I'm sorry you are still feeling tired. not long to go now. You'll feel so much better once you've had this baby. Must be many feelings going round your head at the moment. Just focus on the "I will be a great mother, as all my Mumsnet friends say so!!!". Anyway, if Bodders, has started, you can't be long behind!!

Hey Kitkat - good to hear from you. You're working too hard like me - we must stop it! Hope it is not too stressful with it. Hope you are keeping well!

Chooster - how are you getting on? You away, busy or having your baby too! I can't keep up!

Well, my day was ok - was less stressful than I thought. New girl is very nice and no drooping eyelids in sight - yet!!!
Must go and write a letter to DD's nursery to confirm she's leaving and where she's going. DH is filling in forms for her new school - it is all starting to feel very real now. The first baby-induced change! Scary - my little DD is not old enough for school!

take care all

And remember Bodders, push in your bottom!!!!!

BabyMadandBIGbump · 09/07/2007 22:22

Bodkin OMG what was it like!? interested, good luck chick!

BabyMadandBIGbump · 10/07/2007 07:55

clairebear123 · 10/07/2007 08:00

KitKat30 · 10/07/2007 08:36

Bodders!!!! How exciting!!! OMG have everything crossed over here!!!! Stop pushing and let us know what's going on!!!!

Morning everyone else - welcome Clairebear!

Did anyone watch that Fight for Life programme on BBC1 last night? Very good, but very scary... especially that woman's stretchamrks!!! Hope mine dont turn out like that...

OMG - cant concentrate, keep thinking about Bodders in labour!!!

honeyapple · 10/07/2007 09:44

Heh! Bodders! How exciting... how's it going???

hope you have already given birth and are now cuddling your wee babe. Good timing- with putting dd to bed first!

Hi to everyone else- and welcome clairebear

xx

MrsMcJnr · 10/07/2007 10:23

Hey Babymadfabnursery! sorry to hear you still feel so bad hope it abates soon. Exciting about the home birth window ? just don?t go too far the other way either!! You?ll have to share your MWs tips for starting labour just in case anyone here goes too far into the 10th month. Really hope you get the birth you want hon x

Hey Fettle sorry ? baby?s eating my brain already! My ex was a nightmare and in a way I was quite chuffed that it was him you looked away first. Only wish I?d had a bigger bump and been wearing one of the Blooming Marvellous T-shirts ? DH and I think they are fab, we can?t decide between ?it started with a kiss..? or ?mind the bump? My DH is wonderful really I love him far too much, that?s my problem! Lovely that you are such a proud mother I was thinking the same thing about the Tour de France, since when was Southern England France?? what?s the push in your bottom reference? So much to learn here

OHHHHHHHH Bodders!! how exciting!!! Keep us posted hon! you?ve improved my day no end ? only 10am and already so dire!

Hello everyone ? can I rant?!!!! It?s my parents in law. They are at serious risk of being off the hospital visiting list at this rate. They are driving me INSANE . As you?ll recall, we told them at 6 weeks to avoid the stress of keeping the secret from them. We told them, my folks and our siblings. That?s it. We asked them to keep a secret, explained the medical issues and the fact that we wanted to take it a day at a time. They?ve already bullied us into a big announcement to the rest of the family after the dating scan on 20/7 ? which I didn?t want to do because I know our risk is still high until 20 weeks and yet, one or other of them calls every night to ask if they can tell people and when are we going to announce etc ? I am furious about it. Am I being unreasonable? I really feel like I do not need this stress and harassment and it is making me feel very resentful towards them. Rant over, thanks for listening!
