Welcome something - I'm so sorry for your losses, you've had such a horrible time of it Flowers. Very much hoping that this one is the one for you.

doleritedinosaur · 10/06/2018 17:26

Welcome @something really hope this time works out for you.

@Iswallowtoothpaste it is most likely everything stretching as the placenta is starting to take over so everything is growing a lot more.

With movement I had anterior placenta with my first so felt him at 13 weeks then off & on until 18 but nothin concrete until well over 24 when he was bigger.

Second placenta was low down & felt him at 10 weeks off & on until 17 weeks then it was regular.

Had to have a 2 hour nap today with exhaustion & sickness. So glad OH took the boys out as I woke up from a deep sleep with my cat patting my face.
Hopefully this means tomorrow means a better energy day.

Growth scan was really good news - he's gone from 10th to 20th centile Smile. Have another one in two weeks but feeling relieved/reassured. Consultant also said to keep going in for two CTGs a week - I think they only really told me to do this because they think I need the reassurance rather than for medical need, but I'd rather be overcautious, I think.

kirinm · 11/06/2018 12:52

Great news Lisa. How many weeks are you now?

LisaSimpsonsbff · 11/06/2018 13:02

35 tomorrow

Paranormalbouquet · 11/06/2018 15:22

@something welcome, this thread is a great place to share!

@LisaSimpsonsbff fantastic news, I agree with being overcautious, absolutely the right call.

I’m looking at maternity trousers now. Still bloated after surgery but surgeon said to expect it to be replaced by bump fairly fast as I’m on my second and the surgery will have weakened my abdominal muscles significantly. Just want some I can wear to work, hiding band with a longer top. Is there anyone else who has enormous hips and thighs who has found a decent pair? Last time I really struggled with trousers and ended up wearing dresses all the time but I’d like at least one pair this time if possible/

Anxiousfeelings · 11/06/2018 19:50

@something welcome, this is such a supportive group. Hope all works out this time.

@lisa that’s wonderful!

@para I gave in at the weekend and dug out a pair of maternity jeans. So comfortable, although they do keep slipping a bit. I have a pair of work trousers from Gap from 4 years ago which were really comfortable and generous around thighs and hips.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 11/06/2018 23:26

Erm, I’m almost 10 weeks, have just been laid in bed really relaxed and quiet and I’m fairly certain that I felt movement ‘down there.’

Not a kicking as such but more of a flipping feeling well below my belly button butjust above my pubic bone. Feeling it a couple more times as I’m writing this.

2nd baby, pease don’t think I’m crazy!

Paranormalbouquet · 12/06/2018 08:12

I dug out my old maternity jeans (can only find blue, I must have worn the black to death). Put them on but the bit below the waistband rubs my wound so not a runner at the moment. Looks like I’ll be in dresses and stretchy skirts or leggings for the next few weeks.

Anxiousfeelings · 12/06/2018 15:17

@iswallowtoothpaste I don’t think you are crazy. You know your body best. I felt my DD flutter at 12 weeks and with this one have felt flutters in the last week. Nothing regular at all but a different feeling.

Maggi85 · 12/06/2018 22:57

Hi all posted this on another board but could do with your thoughts; Scan done today 12+5 all looks good and we had a wriggler x thinking of buying a Doppler as had a mmc at 16 weeks - which was only picked up when I went for midwife appt and she couldn’t find the heartbeat then sent for scan and no hb confirmed - so I just want to check things are ok but don’t know if it will make things worse...advice please xx

Great news on the growth scan Lisa! I think the ongoing monitoring is a good plan.

maggi I'm glad all was well with your scan. I would second foxtrot and say a doppler probably isn't a good idea. My midwife didn't use one to listen for the heartbeat until my 25 week appointment because it can be so difficult to find a heartbeat at 16 weeks and create unnecessary anxiety. I would imagine one or two private scans would cost the same and hopefully help to break up the time until your 20 week scan or when you can feel movement.

In other news, I've got leaky boobs already Shock! I'm finding it a bit upsetting and paranoid about having some kind of major leak at work but so far it seems to mainly be an issue at night time.

mummyjl15 · 13/06/2018 08:20

Welcome @something and sorry about your previous losses. Hopefully this pregnancy will go smoothly for you!

Great news about your scan @Maggi85 ! I’d personally avoid buying a Doppler but only from previous experience of stressing myself out when I couldn’t find a heartbeat one time yet everything was fine. It’s just added anxiety.
I would try to get an extra scan booked if you’re feeling anxious or go private for the extra reassurance.

I’m in my maternity clothes now and it’s so good to be able to relax a bit with this pregnancy now. I’ve got a noticeable bump although it does just look like I’ve got a fat tummy at the moment haha!
My boobs are absolutely killing already! Having to wear a sleep bra and it’s just too hot but it’s the only thing that helps with getting comfortable

Paranormalbouquet · 13/06/2018 08:35

@Maggi85 I’d be inclined to think the same about Dopplers, create more anxiety than they solve. Would have an extra scan too instead. Was a cause found for your late loss?

keep leaky boobs is a great sign! I leaked early with DD and had masses of milk after delivery.

My belly has popped out but I think that’s because I’ve got no muscle tone after surgery and can’t hold my fat in!

Maggi85 · 13/06/2018 18:44

Thank you all I really appreciate it - I’ll leave it I don’t want extra worry and I have a additional scan at 17 weeks so I can wait for then xxx

Maggi85 · 13/06/2018 18:44

@Paranormalbouquet no nothing was found - all the tests came back clear

BertieBotts · 13/06/2018 18:56

This thread is about to fill up so I've made another, but noticed there is another one running - confused - but doesn't seem to be the same posters as this one?
