Hey. Starting a new thread before the last one runs out. I will post a link to it in the old one so hopefully everyone can find it.

Morning all

Sounds like a few of you are well on your way & hopefully some more babies being born soon!

Day 8 overdue for me today with induction looming on Monday. Still feel much the same - plenty of Braxton Hicks, lots of pressure down below. Come on baby! Really hoping things happen this weekend.

MrsL2016 · 23/03/2018 06:27

Morning everyone. I have been awake since 2 am with contractions. They got up to every 5/6 minutes but not very painful then eased off about 5 am for an hour. Back up to every 8/9 minutes now. I hope this is it. How is everyone else getting on?

@Ragdolly81 have your contractions got into any kind of pattern this morning? I hope you’re not having to look after a poorly child now too 🙁.

@HazyDays81 I’m day 3 over due and that’s all I’m feeling too. And a fear that I’m actually going to be pregnant forever.

@MrsL2016 good morning! Ah that sounds very positive. Today might be THE day!!!

TheMrs04 · 23/03/2018 07:25

Morning all!!

Still pregnant 😩
Went to hospital last night with contractions every 5 mins and lasting 1min but ended up being sent home as I hadn't dilated anymore ☹️
Tried to sleep but have been up most of the night on my ball trying to get things moving! 6days over now and I feel like I've also been pregnant for ever!!

Hope everyone is doing ok!!

RayM · 23/03/2018 07:40

@TheMrs04 Argh! That’s so frustrating, especially after your positive sweep yesterday 😕 - I guess it got things moving a little though! Are you still having the contractions? Haha I’m not surprised you haven’t been able to sleep 🙂 it’s still exciting that things have progressed this much! I haven’t moved/bounced/wiggled around so much the whole pregnancy as I have the last few days 😂.

TheMrs04 · 23/03/2018 07:45

@RayM still getting contractions but they're not strong enough apparently! Midwife gave me another small sweep whilst I was there last night! Here's hoping today is the day!! Ds1 is with his Grandad until my sister comes home from holiday! So at least I can concentrate on this labour!

LoveRainbow02 · 23/03/2018 08:29

Place marking from last thread 😊.

Hang in there everyone who is overdue, just remember you are 1 day closer to meeting your precious babies.

Congratulations to anyone who has given birth in the last week and I have missed it, I've been too busy with newborn snuggles lol.

My little one is 9 days old now. Still feels a little surreal to think that he is mines. The sleep deprivation is so hard and I'm having a few problems with my partner. He hasn't done a single night feed or changed a dirty nappy or dressed the baby. Everytime I ask him to be a bit more hands on he excuses me of calling him a bad dad. Did anyone else experience this with their partners at first? I am trying to just plod along but its starting to get me down now.

Ragdolly81 · 23/03/2018 10:21

I hope you have your little one soon how frustrating for you. I had 16 hours of contractions where I was struggling to do anything through them couldn't walk or talk but they just stopped at 5am and now I am back in limbo of just waiting again. Driving me mad all the stopping and starting. Good luck everyone who is on the edge. Can't be much longer

RayM · 23/03/2018 11:05

@LoveRainbow02 😍 I bet you’re still in a bit of a haze with it all! Is he your first? I can’t wait until I meet my baby! With regard to your partner... could it be that he’s a bit nervous/ worried about how fragile a newborn can look?? Could you casually ask him to change his nappy/cuddle him while you have a soak in the bath?

@TheMrs04 @Ragdolly81 All the uncertainty with the contractions sounds terrible! At least you’re closer to meeting your babies than you were a couple days ago. I guess the best thing is to keep moving? Walking up and down stairs or even squatting when you do have them to help push baby down more?

Crapbags · 23/03/2018 11:32

@Raym & @Themrs04 I too feel like I have been/am going to be pregnant for ever....I actually said to DH this morning ‘what if he never comes outConfused’ haha

@Loverainbow02 newborn snuggles sounds so lovely. As for your partner it is so tough with the first baby I remember feeling quite a lot of resentment towards my husband that he wasn’t doing enough but he did step up doing night feeds/changing, making dinner/breakfast for me while I fed etc. I think you need to be very clear in that you need help and what exactly you want him to do....as @RayM said sometimes dads aren’t sure exactly what they should be doing and need it spelt out for them!

Crapbags · 23/03/2018 11:36

Also @LoveRainbow02 I think I remember with my first I would express enough milk for one bottle feed then go to bed after feeding baby about 7/8ish DH would then do the next feed around 10-11ish while I slept then I would wake for the next feed which was usually sometime after midnight....I found that getting a solid 4hours sleep made such a such a difference as before I’d be snatching the odd 1-2hrs between feeds.

RayM · 23/03/2018 11:38

@Crapbags We’re actually going to be stuck like this forever!! 😩😂. The more time passes the less prepared I am and the less real it is!?

Yes, firm but gentle guidance. I know my husband will need this - he’s going to have a shock I think!

TheMrs04 · 23/03/2018 11:39

Have just been for a walk got half way home and the contractions got really bad! So back home now and on my ball! I really hope this boy comes soon! 😩😩

RayM · 23/03/2018 11:44

@TheMrs04 keep that movement up, it seems to be doing the trick!!

blinkineckmum · 23/03/2018 11:51

Sounds like a few more babies on the way! How are all the new mums and babes? My baby is thriving. Gained back her birth weight in a week! I am suffering with oversupply of milk and sore nipples, so pretty much housebound. Hope everyone's doing ok x

Crapbags · 23/03/2018 12:47

@RayM my thoughts exactly more time goes on the less prepared I feel and yep really doesn’t feel real....and I’ve done it twice before?!? Madness!!

Good luck @TheMrs04 sounds promising!

@blinkineckmum how lovely baby is doing so well.....well done you:)

Clevs · 23/03/2018 13:07

40+5 now and still waiting Sad

Had curry for tea last night washed down with pineapple juice, and have been bouncing on my ball.

I did wake up in the night with tightening/spasm on one side of my bump but it went as soon as it came and didn't come back...I was getting excited thinking my time had arrived!

MrsL2016 · 23/03/2018 13:20

My contractions have been very erratic and ranging from 5 mins to 20 mins apart. Just back from the midwife and had a sweep. She said I had a soft partially effaced cervix that is 1cm dilated. I told her I was having some mild contractions and she said it all sounded promising and didn't expect me to get to induction but did but me in for next Friday just in case. At home on the sofa now to see if things progress.

HazyDays81 · 23/03/2018 14:33

crapbags & RayM feeling exactly the same here! I’ve done this twice before but the more time that passes the less ready I feel!

Good luck to those having contractions - the end is in sight! We can’t be pregnant forever although it certainly feels that way!

Ragdolly81 · 23/03/2018 23:13

Sounds like there might be one or two arrivals very soon good luck everyone. My contractions stopped after 16 hours last night but they are back tonight much worse and in a pattern of every 15-16 mins so keeping my fingers crossed even if I did forget how painful this was Haha.

Crapbags · 24/03/2018 06:42

How is everyone doing?

@ragdolly81 sounds good they are getting into a pattern hope things are moving for you now

Still no sign of anything here😖

HazyDays81 · 24/03/2018 07:07

Ragdolly81 that’s exciting - hope you deliver very soon!

crapbags I’ve woken up feeling pretty down today. No sign of anything happening here either Sad Do you have an induction date?

Mugglenet · 24/03/2018 07:17

I've been up since 3am. Really painful carpal tunnel. Feeling pretty rubbish here.
Just want to be done. Feeling jealous of those that have it over them. Hopefully more babies will arrive in next few days.

Crapbags · 24/03/2018 07:47

Ah @hazydays81 and @mugglenet sorry you’re both feeling down too it’s so exhausting being on high alert all the time isn’t it?!

I haven’t been given an induction date yet I think my midwife, like everyone else assumed I’d be early again. She’s coming Monday and I suspect she’ll talk about induction then.

I’ve been thinking about my dates though and it’s got me wondering if they’ve got it wrong....when I went for my 12 week scan they dated me to be 14 weeks pregnant I didn’t think too much of it at the time but if I calculate 14weeks back from that date it would mean I fell pregnant the week before my period?!? That can’t be right can it? I mean I’m pretty sure I can pinpoint the date we actually conceived as we were away for the wkend and it’s when we DTD without contraception it was just after my period ended so I do think I ovulated early that month but surely they cannot date a pregnancy to a week before I even had my period?! If they have got it wrong I’m not actually let yet??

Gahh I don’t know I’ve clearly got too much time on my hands🤪

Vickylou78 · 24/03/2018 08:03

Oh Deary! Some of you ladies are suffering with this waiting! Not long now for all of us hopefully! Keep positive as the babies will have to come out eventually!

@crapbags wonder if you could be right. I had the same with my 1st dd, I knew exactly when we had done the deed and thought that was probably going to be most accurate date as scan dating is unreliable sometimes but they seem to go with that as I guess most people don’t know when they conceived. The date from scan cake and went and I gave birth 10 days late which was much closer to the date I’d worked out from dtd!
