If we can't be positive about the weather what can we be? Grin

Just wanted to add, as you said you were nervous about it grumpy that whooping cough vaccine didn't give me any side effects at all - no stiff arm (which flu jab did give me) and felt totally normal afterwards. Obviously no telling whether or not you'll also be lucky, but not a given that it'll be unpleasant!

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 05/04/2018 11:42

Dating scan tomorrow. Idk what happens. I've never actually made it to one (1st mmc was diagnosed the day before that scan). Someone tell me it's going to be okay.

keepinghopeful · 05/04/2018 16:32

Had my first scan, by lmp im 7wks, little bean measuring 7w5d with heartbeat & little sprouts for limbs visible - sooo happy & relieved!! Thought my heart was going to pop out of chest in waiting area. Fingers crossed now it keeps going.

natashaarr · 05/04/2018 17:02

@keeping that’s great news!! So glad you got to see you little one.

@unicorns neither have I, I’m sure it’ll be fine. Good luck and let us know how it goes xx

BertieBotts · 05/04/2018 18:12

Dating scan - is usually abdominal. It's a good idea if you've got something in your bladder but you don't need to be bursting for a wee, so don't drink or withold hours in advance :) Just take a bottle of water to drink in the car/waiting room.

If you're anxious about previous miscarriage you can tell them this and ask if they'll look for a heartbeat first. You'll normally be able to see a little alien-shaped baby! Sometimes it can be hard to make out what is what - the sonographer should tell you, if they don't, ask.

In the UK if you would like pictures, take cash with you.

Good luck @UnicornsandRainbows1. I know how you're feeling. Xx

TheGrumpySquirrel · 05/04/2018 22:25

Good luck for tomorrow @UnicornsandRainbows1 I'll be thinking of you.

@LisaSimpsonsbff and @Flatwhite32 thanks for reassurance on the vaccine. I'm so pro vaccinations but also a hypochondriac so (ironically?) terrified of anything that might make me feel a bit weird!

I've had a really happy and upbeat few weeks (12-20) and now I'm crashing - I have been so busy with work and getting my house sorted pre baby and planning holidays but suddenly I just feel like sitting and crying all the time. Is it possibly to miss your baby before they are even here? I know it is, from my MCs - but this feels different- although I'm also terrified of something going wrong. Hoping I'll feel happier again after the anomaly scan. Still so many weeks of pregnancy left...

kirinm · 06/04/2018 07:18

Good luck @UnicornsandRainbows1 at my dating scan as soon as they heard my history, the first thing they did was show me the heartbeat. Hope all goes well.

Touchwood I haven't bled for a few days now. Saw the consultant about my bleeding yesterday and he said that there's no evidence of pre-cancerous / cancerous cells and he doesn't think the bleeding is coming from the cervix which is good news but does mean I'm no further forward in understanding what's cern been happening. Going to have to just hope it doesn't happen again and if it does, go straight to hospital.

keeponrunning85 · 06/04/2018 08:39

Great news keeping!

Good luck for today unicorns. I second telling them your background as soon aa you go on. When I had mine the sonographer was lovely and got straight on with showing us the heartbeat and letting us have a listen.

I'm so glad you've had a few days without bleeding kirin. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that it stays away.

Snorebrown · 06/04/2018 09:02

Fantastic keeping. Thinking of you today unicorns xx

Snorebrown · 06/04/2018 09:03

My sickness is really ramping up in the mornings now. I feel horrid but am taking it as a good sign :0)

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/04/2018 10:52

Thinking of you today unicorns, I agree, be honest. With my two so far I've gone in, said hi and said we're incredibly nervous so could they let us know asap if all is well. They've been as quick as possible and very kind.

Sorry you're feeling pants Snore, good if it's reassuring though! Strange lives we lead these days.

Really hope things will calm down for you kirinm, the worry must be so exhausting. Are you iron levels okay?

Big hugs grumpy, you poor thing. It's a lot to deal with, you've been through the wringer and it's fucking hard work growing a new human. Are you overdoing it and getting worn out? it's okay to dial it back and just rest when you need to. You've got plenty of time to be organised and efficient, sometimes you need a warm bath, or some ice cream and a shit film, a day in your PJs.

We've been away for a few days, not much to report. 10 weeks today. Time is finally picking up a bit. Got next scan on the 11th, then anomaly scan and hopefully getting off the progesterone on the 26th.

Is anyone getting hay fever? I've been a sudafed nose spray junky for years and kicked the habit pre BFP, now using some sea salt spray thing which doesn't seem to do much. I asked about the safest hay fever meds at my booking apt and she said I probably won't get hay fever but if I do I need to get something prescribed.

Hooray Unicorns !

hotcookie · 06/04/2018 17:41

Great news on scans people Smile

My little one cannot make up her mind! I'm booked for a section next week due to her being breech. She's been breech pretty much the whole way through, apart from at the 36 week scan when she was cephalic, but back to breech at 37 weeks. Still breech at 38 so I get booked for a section, but a scan at 39 weeks shows she's cephalic again Hmm
I have another scan at 40 weeks, so we'll see what happens then, but they may well cancel my section. It does mean though that I will likely need to go for a presentation scan when I go into labour in case she flips again! Not easy-I'd just prepared and come to terms with the section....

keeponrunning85 · 06/04/2018 18:08

Great news unicorns!

What a wriggler hotcookie! I hope she's wedged now and stays head down.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 06/04/2018 21:13

Finally home after a non-stop day.

So the baby was moving about so much that the appointment lasted a bit longer because she couldn't really take the measurements. After a lot of rolling about to try to get them to change positions slightly we got them in the end. It was very graceful! Grin

Measurements for the back of the neck (can't remember the word) were 1.7mm I'm assuming that's okay and we're yet another day ahead from the last scan so are 12+2 days and officially due the 17th Oct.

What a complete whirlwind of a few months, I think I need to go and lay down!

That's a good measure for nuchal unicorns- well within normal range. Lovely pic - so pleased for you that all is well.

Flatwhite32 · 07/04/2018 08:52

1.7 is a really good measurement @UnicornsandRainbows1. So so happy for you Smile.
