Hello everyone,
My husband (36 yo) and I (35 yo) have been trying to conceive for 6 months and yesterday, 3 days before my period was due, I took an early pregnancy test at home... and it came back positive! Today I'm 3 weeks + 5 days.
We're both over the moon, however now I'm starting to worry that I tested too early and this may end up in a miscarriage. :(
I'm literally worrying over any sign of discomfort, cramp, etc. I'm even worried my cough may dislodge my little sprout! Is anyone going through the same?

@Helen290 that’s great news! So glad everything is going well for you.
I have my booking in appointment today so have taken a half day at work. This morning did not go to plan, I was working and nearly fainted. Had to sit down and sit with my head in my hands. Felt numb everywhere and had no strength whatsoever, then I started to sweat badly and got hot. My friend at work was with me and said I went extremely pale. Took me a good 15 to 20 mins to gather enough strength to get up. Felt bad because I was actually teaching my friend how to do my job as I’m leaving in Feb to start a new job. She’s the only one who knows I’m pregnant so was a relief to have her there. Will tell the doctor today about my experience and see if it could be gestational diabetes. Feel quite exhausted and got no strength really. Doctors at 4:30pm wish me luck, I’m a nervous wreck!

Gem173 · 08/01/2018 15:16

Also sorry Helen I’m not too sure all I’ve been told is to eat little and often, mostly plain items xx

louella99 · 08/01/2018 15:28

Good luck @Gem173!

@Helen290 sorry to hear you're struggling with sickness. fizzy drinks might help? I had bad food poisoning in the summer when I was abroad, I couldn't even keep water down and was so exhausted. Things like diet lemonade really helped

Helen290 · 08/01/2018 19:02

@Gaby1982 sorry to hear that happened so scary I would try not to worry tho maybe it was your blood pressure? Have you been keeping hydrated? I wish you luck at your appointment and I hope it goes well for you 🙂 it's so horrible worrying I just keep on hoping there will be a time we don't worry as much but I doubt it lol .

Helen290 · 08/01/2018 19:03

@louella99 thank you for the advice now you have mentioned fizzy drinks I really fancy some lemonade lol I will try that tomorrow 🙂.

Gem173 · 08/01/2018 19:31

Appointment went okay, booked in with the midwives for 29th jan (be 10weeksish) at 4:30pm. Really nervous. Hate drs and appointments and stuff. I’m such a shy person when it comes to stuff like this.

Helen290 · 09/01/2018 06:54

@Gem173 ah I'm glad it went well not long till you have your scan, I have another one in 2 weeks. Morning sickness has fully started tho I feel awful 🤢😩.

Gem173 · 09/01/2018 07:04

@helen290 sounds awful, hope you feel better soon :( bit lucky don’t have morning sickness and fx it stays this way. Goodluck at your next scan !

Helen290 · 09/01/2018 08:52

@louella99 thank you so much for the advice your a life saver!! My sickness was so bad this morning but I brought some fizzy lemonade and it's gone!! I feel so much better hopefully want come back later 🙈

louella99 · 09/01/2018 09:53

@Helen290 yay I'm glad it worked!

At my GP surgery you self-refer to the midwives, you don't see a doctor. Then the booking in appointment is a home visit! So I'm just waiting for a date for that.

Helen290 · 10/01/2018 06:37

Anyone know how to deal with extreme morning sickness and work?! As I obviously I haven't told work yet and I don't want to till 12 weeks, but I was actually sick this morning and it's getting worse I was feeling sick all night and day yesterday which makes it so hard to concentrate on work 🙈😩 don't know what to do?!.

Gaby1982 · 10/01/2018 07:52

Hello everyone! I have to say that so far I haven’t experienced much morning sickness. I was a tiny little bit sick on Saturday night but since then have been OK. Sorry to hear that a few of you are struggling...
I have had a very annoying tickly cough for about a week now, though! Trying my best to manage it and I think it’s starting to go away, however my husband keeps saying I should go to the doctor. Advice??
I got a letter on the post yesterday confirming my midwife appointment on 26th Jan and scan on 20th Feb! Exciting!!

Hi everyone! I'm 7 weeks today and all my symptoms have gone ☹️ I'm probably overthinking things but I had a miscarriage in sept so it's hard not to. Had a early scan at 5 wks and 4 days and there was a heartbeat I'm just worrying it's stopped developing. Has anyone else had symptoms come and go?

Gaby1982 · 12/01/2018 18:06

Hi @abbeyb123! I’m 7 weeks 2 days today and most of my symptoms have gone, too. This is my first ever pregnancy and I also find a bit worrying not to have the usual signs. I am craving pickles and savoury stuff when I was always a sweets person. I’m trying not to think about it too much... if there’s anyone else out there in the same situation or someone who can share more info, it’d be great! Thanks xx

Helen290, I don't want to scare you but this may be the start of Hyperemesis. Speak to you doctor about anti sickness medication. I'm afraid They don't work with all women but it's a start.

abbeyb123 · 12/01/2018 20:00

Thanks @Gaby1982 I just worry so much. Even more so after the m/c. I've also had a tickley cough it's driving me mad and getting a lot worse at night when I lay down. My husband has said the same to go to the doctors but they will only say it's viral and there's nothing you can take so I'm just trying to sit it out 😫😏

WaitingforToto · 12/01/2018 20:33

I’m the same @abbeyb123 and @Gaby1982 I’m 7+5 today and all symptoms disappeared on Wednesday, but I didn’t have anything too bad/strong in the first place. I was very worried on Wednesday but I’m trying to focus on the fact that I’ve not had any spotting and I’m hoping it’s the my placenta starting to take the strain x

louella99 · 13/01/2018 15:58

Yes apparently it's common for symptoms to come and go - as the placenta forms it starts to take over. Also the hormones don't necessarily rise evenly, you can get a flood of hormones and then after a whole your body gets used to them and you feel better.

Try not to worry, easier said than done though

louella99 · 13/01/2018 15:59

*after a while

Gem173 · 13/01/2018 19:51

Hey guys 7+4 today and all my symptoms have gone too. Somehow my right boob is much bigger than my left boob. Also had cramping today so hoping that’s just the uterus growing fx! Had a doctors appt with my doctor last week and have booked in my booking appt with my midwife for 29th jan. when will I get a letter through about my scan? Is that before or after my booking in? It’s a late booking in appt as il be a day off of 10 weeks :(

nina86 · 14/01/2018 11:30

Im currently suffering with nausea n sickness all day every day and its really getting me down as I dont know what to do with myself. Im seeing midwife thu 18th january. Look forward to talking to u all. Xx

Gaby1982 · 15/01/2018 17:13

@nina86, welcome to the group! It can’t be easy going through these early weeks after your previous experiences. I’m really sorry to hear about what happened. But we all need to remain positive and hope for the best!!
I’ve been diagnosed with bronchitis today after 2 weeks of non-stop coughing. If anyone is experiencing a cold and cough that you don’t seem to shake off, please go and see your GP! I’ll be on antobiotics for a whole week (safe during pregnancy).
Best of luck to all of us!! xxx

Hi ladies. Hope everyone is doing well and babies are growing nicely and safely. I sadly found out at my 8 weeks scan that there was no heart beat and after an erpc today I’m physically recovering, but have lost a piece of my heart. But desperate for my baby even if it’s no longer going to be an August one.
I wish you all a wonderful pregnancy and hope that the rest of your jelly beans make it to the world.
Xx

Gaby1982 · 18/01/2018 19:23

@cakelaur, I’m so sorry to hear about your loss.
