Baby due late August 2018

Hello everyone,
My husband (36 yo) and I (35 yo) have been trying to conceive for 6 months and yesterday, 3 days before my period was due, I took an early pregnancy test at home... and it came back positive! Today I'm 3 weeks + 5 days.
We're both over the moon, however now I'm starting to worry that I tested too early and this may end up in a miscarriage. :(
I'm literally worrying over any sign of discomfort, cramp, etc. I'm even worried my cough may dislodge my little sprout! Is anyone going through the same?

Hope you get better soon and the sickness doesn’t stay. Let us know when you get your letter! Such exciting news it will be! Hoping I don’t get morning sickness, I do a lot of heavy lifting at work and atm got my mate lifting stuff for me without anyone noticing. Hopefully I can play it off till after my 12 week scan!

@Gem173 do you know when your scan is yet? Yes on the most part I've just felt nauseous so hopefully won't keep being sick

Hi abbey my last period was also 18 November so great to hear your scan went well!! My cycles are a bit irregular, app is saying 6 weeks 4 days but maybe it's more like 5 weeks in that case. When do you get a due date?!

Great to hear other people have cramps, very reassuring that it's normal! Today for the first time ever I had stupidly achey boobs 😂

Hi @agteacht yeah that's what mine said until I changed it myself. I just worked mine out on nhs site as I know how long my cycles are. It all depends when you ovulate just as I know I ovulate later as my cycles are that bit longer so that's why I'm a bit behind. My due date works out at 31st aug

Not yet, I have a doctors appointment (booking in appointment) on 8th jan, so I’m sure she will say exactly the same to me and prob say my scan date will come in the post. I thought you see a midwife for booking in but my doctors want me to see my actual doctor.

I have adjusted now based on the date I believe we conceived, as that was 3 weeks after my period started. This now suggests 30th August.

As an aside my brother is getting married on 8th September abroad. He is going to kill me

Just need some advice please me and my husband have not had sex since I found out I was pregnant due to the fact I'm scared (I know it's crazy) something will go wrong I.e I will bleed as I have read a few women get that after and for me after my MC it would make me worry more seeing blood, am I being irrational? And is anyone else feeling the same?

So I only found out a week ago so it’s not that long without, but we haven’t had sex since, but it’s because I don’t feel like it rather than fear. Also, I had IUI and throughout the whole process I found the injections really killed my sex drive, I just wasn’t in the mood at all, so I think that still hasn’t worn off yet.

I don’t think your being irrational, it’s normal to be concerned and cautious at this stage, probably more so considering your MC.

I imagine things will calm down for you over time, DH just needs to be patient and you will soon be relaxed enough for normal service to resume

I’ve had sex twice since finding out on the 17th December. I told my oh my worries and whenever we do it, we take it slow, sorry tmi, he doesn’t go as deep and I said to him that one day I will find it uncomfortable and he said from then on he will be fine with a blowjob lol both times we have had sex I haven’t bled. Think the babies tucked right up in there safe and sound. Don’t be afraid, I know I am and it does put me off but I don’t want to neglect my partners needs just cause I’m having off days xx

Sorry I've been really quiet so far, been really very anxious and just hoping that things are progressing well.

Had my first morning sickness this morning so although unpleasant - at least it hopefully means that hormones are increasing and all is well.

Honestly still just cannot believe it has happened after so long!

Flora I know how you feel re anxiousness, I am the exact same.

Re being intimate with DP/DH as alluded to in Gems post above, intimacy doesn’t have to be penetrative if you really are concerned, you many be more comfortable doing some of them

@Gem173 thank you for your reply sorry TMI we are doing foreplay most days and he has been very good he doesn't get funny that we are not having sex I can just tell he is bored lol, so maybe doing it but carefully and not deep will be ok lol it's funny how irrational you become when your worried 🙈. I think I have worried more as today and yesterday I have been having more cramps after days of not much I am wondering if it's because I'm back at work and more active?.

@Gem173 yeh just weird why I am getting more cramping it's not really bad and it comes and goes mostly worse in the morning just weird after having a few days or not a lot I just really hope my scan is ok Monday 🙈😔.

Helen290 fx for your scan hope it goes okay! Really wish I had an early scan appointment but as this is my first pregnancy and haven’t had a miscarriage before (touchwood) I don’t get early scans. And my oh doesn’t want to fork out the money for a private early scan. So just learning to go with it and try not to worry. Makes me look forward to the 12w scan much more.

My boss is my dad so I told him. I'm 7 weeks tomorrow (I think!). We both agreed that the majority of my role can be done remotely so I'm really happy he is being so understanding. I thought he was going to be the opposite but he's so excited for us

We are expecting our first late August. We went for an early scan today and they confirmed the dates we thought, that my wife had worked out, and we are 7w2days.
We have been trying on and off for 13 years now and my wife is now 41 so is classed as a geriatric mother.
To say we have both been worried and stressed is an understatement but the scan today has settled some of our nerves

How is everyone getting on? I'm 6w 3d today, very sore boobs so bought some soft non-wired bras to make myself more comfortable! Having some mild waves of nausea but feeling largely ok

I'm 6 weeks 2 days now nausea has started mostly in the morning it is so bad and occasionally it happens in the day, no breast pain but I haven't had that since I found out I was pregnant, really fatigued I have 1 hour naps each day and still feel tired and still occasional cramping mostly at night.
I have my 6 week scan today I just hope everything is ok and we hear a heart beat im so nervous 😟 🤞🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻

Good luck today @Helen290. I had my early scan yesterday and everything looks as it should, nice strong heartbeat to see and hear! I thought I was 7+4 but the measurement says 7 exactly so new due date is 26/08 just need to get through the next 5 weeks. I think I am going to have the NIPT done as well for peace of mind. I hope you get good news Helen x

Hi everyone, hope it’s ok to join? I got my BFP on 22 Dec so, like most of you, the best Christmas present! Because of the timing and all the sociable boozing that normally takes place, I told my family and a couple of close friends... so exciting but equally cautious, especially as I’m 42 😬

I am 6+5 and due date is 30 Aug. I have my midwife appt on 6 Feb and then first scan on 21 Feb. Seems ages away and so far, other than sore boobs and odd mild cramp, I am feeling good. No sickness (yet) thankfully.

Look forward to hearing how you are all doing in the coming months. I have to say it’s a great comfort to hear from others in the same position! x

Really good news had my 6 week scan today measuring at 6 weeks good positioning and heart beat no problems they have said I can have another scan in two weeks as I'm under fertility and I have my midwife appointment the same day, still very worried tho I just want my 12 week scan done feels so far away 😩😩😩 hate worrying.

Also sorry does anyone have any tips to help nausea mine is so bad today I have had it all morning!! I have eaten which I thought would help but it hasn't so hard to work when I feel like this 😩😩.
