Hi there,

Does anyone feel like a chat?

Age: 34
TTC: 11 months
Due: July 2018

I had vivid dreams in the two week wait. Since BFP I've just had mildly sensitive boobs.

My colleague has just announced his wife is pregnant, they've just had their first scan, I can't help but feel he's stolen my thunder a little bit!

Looking for a bit of a confidence boost here... I'm 12 weeks.. scam next week but anxiety is through the roof worrying they'll confirm a MMC like last time 😔😔 anyone else got pregnant straight after a MC?!

LMX0 · 09/04/2018 23:13

@Lphil93 im sorry i cant help as ive no personal experiance but didnt want to not comment however i know someone that had a MMC and went on to have 3 children big hugs to you and i hope this week dosent drag for you Thanks

Lyra2018 · 10/04/2018 06:05

Same as lmxo, I know someone who went through ivf. First one failed then she went on to have 2 beautiful children. Good luck next week. X

Noonaylor · 10/04/2018 06:44

@Lphil93 the only thing I can say is that Mmc is extremely rare. The sad fact that it happened last time means that it is very unlikely that it has happened again. XxxFlowers

Lphil93 · 10/04/2018 07:02

Thanks guys. I mean I'm having all the right signs.. I still "feel" pregnant.. my little bump is growing, I'm absolutely exhausted.. so fingers crossed my little bean is absolutely fine :) xx

Flatwhite32 · 10/04/2018 07:14

@Lphil93 I had a MMC at 12 weeks in August and got pregnant on cycle 3 afterwards. Currently 25 weeks! Best of luck with your scan. I know exactly how you feel re the anxiety. Thanks

LMX0 · 10/04/2018 09:38

Fab news Peaches! Congratulations :) I was actually wondering how you were the other day so it's great to hear this!

All quiet here. 25 weeks now, midwife next week. Bump getting bigger...I'm getting slower :D

Lyra2018 · 12/04/2018 16:54

Sorry in advance for the long post.

Contrats peaches! I was a christmas baby, born late december, felt a bit like I owned christmas in my family as a child and was never at school for my birthday. :D. My counsin's baby was born on new years eve, you may even have one of the first 2019 babies! Been getting lots of mood swings, and not just because of pregnacy... work and family difficulties too, grandma's gone back into hospital, then my cousin announced she is pregnant. My grandma is happy that she's going to be a great grandmother twice this year (first great grandchildren). I was worried she wouldn't make it but it turned out to be nothing serious but still, you never know so my anxiety and depression is so high. It's bringing back memories of my grandad's dementia, which he died of and how I miss him.... Also, I've been doing a CBT genralised anxiety course which teaches that predicting the future is a thinking error and the uneasy feeling and sense of doom is a symptom of anxiety..That does make sense.. However, I just knew my grandma would go into hospital after her sister died and just knew my bump was growing too fast. Just had a midwife appointment today, 27 weeks. I'm above the 95th percentile, I'll be measured next week again and might get another growth scan, ontop of my placenta position scan at 32 weeks... My dad is tall but short compared to his relatives and female cousins on that side are 6ft+. I'm very average. My mum is tiny as she had us early but big and no easy births...Her first was born at 36 weeks as a cecarean as she didn't come natrally even with inducing... I'm not ready for the baby to come early, we need to buy our house first! thats all going OK but we don't have a move in date yet, should be in May. Our rented place is OK, we but this new house is ours and I'm getting inpatient. Due date of July suddenly seems far too close.

Anyway, I'll have a lie down now I think, I've just bought myself some new maternaty clothes, new shoes and alcohol free beer and it's really nice. I've always liked the taste of beer.

Lphil93 · 17/04/2018 10:36

UPDATE: you were all right.. baby is fine. Measuring 12 weeks and a strong heartbeat. Absolutely over the moon!!!!

LMX0 · 17/04/2018 11:48

@Lphil93 thats fantastic!!! Im so happy for you 😁

Noonaylor · 17/04/2018 18:47

Brilliant news @Lphil93! Xx

Lyra2018 · 18/04/2018 08:17

Hello everyone.. I've now been signed sick off work until after maternity. It's down to both mental health issues meaning and migraines and as a radiographer in a very short staffed hospital department it's been difficult to always have support, allthough everyone was trying. If I wasn't getting migraines I could have done admin but I can't look at a screen too long and admin is not my thing. Occupational health doctor said he thought putting me on admin would be demeaning. His wife was a radiographer so he really understood the type of stress we get. It's so easy to make a small mistake which could cost me my registration. I'm lucky that I have a secure job and good manager and am able to take my annual leave from now. I still need a meeting to just clarify everything. Now I've got nearly 3 months to fill. It's lovely now it's spring, been looking at swimming pools, yoga, clubs, museums and cafes as I'm no good at resting and doing nothing. I normally like reading but have been finding novels too difficult but am starting to get into some magazines. We are also waiting for the house purchase to go through, I think I'll be much more relaxed when we have a move in date. This Friday I have a meeting with my care coordinator. She's part of the mental health team and really nice. I think will be really helpful as I'm getting confused with all the different appointments. Next week I have the health visitor coming round for our first meeting. She sounded lovely on the phone, she's going to bring some paperwork about the different services available for babies and toddlers in the area. I know I have no reason to be, but I'm nervous. Has anyone else had the health visitor yet? I'm also stressing about my growth chart, only has one point, but it was too big even though the baby was lying sideways and I wasn't feeling bloated for a change. Midwife reassured me and said nothing to worry about, maybe just need an extra scan. My medication can cause weight gain too so maybe that's why...

LMX0 · 18/04/2018 10:12

@Lyra2018 youve alot going on thats good though that you had a very understanding doctor and you might as well make the most of the time off while you can and enjoy some hobbies!!! All of which sound fab and very good for mental & physical health!! Could you possibly download the kindle app on your phone or buy a kindle to read? I know you make the font bigger if that would help? How many weeks are you? I know that i will meet HV but i think thats around 35 weeks according to my friend (her ds is 1)

Embracethechaos · 18/04/2018 14:44

Thanks for the offer lmxo I know how to increase the size. My husband is really into ebooks, bought me a new one I've hardly used... Personally I prefer paper. I'm a bit dyslexic and I've tried dyslexic special fonts but it doesn't make a difference. Reading has never been much of a problem, it's writing, organisation and form filling that gets me stressed. Comic sans is my font of choice. I'm only 28 weeks on Thursday. I think I'm seeing her early because my midwife contacted her due to my mental health issues because at the beginning it was explained to me that the health visitors normally see you shortly before birth as they take over from the midwife. I'm quite excited to meet her as I'd like to start thinking more about my baby and toddler, as I'm sick of thinking about pregnancy and labour. I'm also thinking about a baby shower for colleges, but not sure how big a thing I want. I'm quite relieved I left without saying bye as they normally make a big deal of it at my work and do a presentation with presents and often a bring and share lunch. And the person leaving is normally kept really busy on their last day. So instead I'll book a table or room at a restaurant. Be much nicer.

Embracethechaos · 18/04/2018 14:45

Also, I used to be lyra - name change.

lmx0 · 18/04/2018 22:57

Thats nice

Charlottejade89 · 23/04/2018 08:22

Hi ladies! Only just discovered mumsnet and this thread. But I am 29 and 25+5 weeks pregnant with my first baby (which we know is a girl 😊) due date 1st august. So excited!

lmx0 · 23/04/2018 12:06

@Charlottejade89 congrats!! And welcome!! 😊Thanks

Noonaylor · 23/04/2018 12:48

Congratulations 🎊 ! How are you getting on? Pregnancy going well? I'm 27, first baby, 23 weeks today, sex unknown (decided not to find out!) baby due 20th Aug x

Embracethechaos · 23/04/2018 13:48

Congratulations Charlotte, my due date is scarily close at mid July. Everything is going smoothly now, got a few appointments and arrangements sorted this morning making me less anxious. Just feeling so tired all the time and forgetting that I can't walk as quickly as I used to, esspesally in the heat. I'm very warm blooded without being pregnant. So I also want the baby to come quicker. Grin
