Hi there,

Does anyone feel like a chat?

Age: 34
TTC: 11 months
Due: July 2018

I had vivid dreams in the two week wait. Since BFP I've just had mildly sensitive boobs.

My colleague has just announced his wife is pregnant, they've just had their first scan, I can't help but feel he's stolen my thunder a little bit!

Another baby girl on the way here..... 22 weeks now and feeling movements on and off, some quite strong ones too. A few weeks ago I saw a kick as well, DH felt her kick that evening, it was fab. Not feeling to bad, just very sort of hung over in the mornings. However I've been feeling very flat and teary but had a long chat with my midwife about worry and expectation last week and felt much better since. I worry so much all the time about something being wrong that I find it very hard to constantly hear people telling me how besides myself with excitement I must be. But it's getting better which has coincided with sleeping a bit better. I sympathise with anyone struggling with anxiety/depression as I've really struggled in the past too. I've been worried that hormones might make it all flare up again but so far I'm ok thankfully. It's so hard when you just want to enjoy pregnancy.

Just got back from swimming - my god it was hard work. Only did 15 minutes and am shattered. This baby growing is really taking it out of me!#

Lyra2018 · 25/03/2018 13:44

Hi buffalo, welcome. I'd love to do some swimming as I'm getting quite a bit of pelvic pain, maybe one day next week but I'm not sure I could manage the business, noise and smell of chlorine as well as wearing a swimming costume with this anxiety and migranes. Floor stretched and my excersize ball are working well. I'm not the type to cry with strangers, I rarlely cry and only with people I know well. I think I'll talk to a doctor or phisio about my left hip pain as it's become disabling and I'm only 24 weeks and 65kg. The type of sleep I'm getting is not natural so I don't often move off my left side at night.

Lyra2018 · 26/03/2018 13:11

How is everyone doing today? I'm looking forward to my 25 week midwife appointment on Wednesday. I've been looking at my notes and looking forward to starting the graph. My baby was dead perfect on the 12 week scan then slightly large on the 20 week scan. So I'm a bit worried she's growing to fast, maybe she'll just come early (me and my sisters were all early) which would be nice as long as we have moved house in time! Feel like she's suddenly starting growing so fast right now, keeping all the liquid I drink. I am trying to cut down on chocolate (which I love) to help my migraines so am not really looking forward to Easter. I've told my family and close friends not to give me chocolate as I've been night grazing recently (was surprised to find a chocolate bar I was trying to eat slowly gone) so can't be trusted to have large amounts of chocolate at home.

itallhappensforareason · 26/03/2018 13:32

I'm truly knackered today. I haven't slept very well for the last 3 or 4 nights and last night was the worst of them all with this stupid cough I've managed to pick up! Seems to be a bit better today so hopefully a better night's sleep is on the cards for me tonight. Feeling grouchy and miserable!!!

Lyra2018 · 26/03/2018 15:41

Ah, I've been wandering if all thesse headaches I'm getting might be partiality a cold. There is so much going round at the moment.

beckyh2502 · 27/03/2018 12:23

I'm 20 weeks currently with my first! Due 10th August. She's a girl!
I'm absolutely terrified but starting to get excited now the news is out to family/friends.
Just lost my job though so that's thrown a spanner in the works!

LMX0 · 27/03/2018 13:32

@beckyh2502 congrats!! How have you been? Telling people makes it feel so much more real!! Altho sometimes when im telling people in my head i just cant stop thinking omg am i allowed to tell people is this really happening!! Lol sorry to hear about your job that sucks n not great timing

Lyra2018 · 27/03/2018 17:30

Gongrats becky. Took me until the second trimester to get excited too but the terror has also intensified now the birth is closer and I can feel the baby moving. Hope you get your finances sorted. Spring is such a hopeful season I think. There is a reason most animals give birth in the spring.

Brettgirl · 01/04/2018 12:26

Hubby finally felt baby kick today, on our 12th Anniversary! Such a special feeling Smile

LMX0 · 01/04/2018 14:35

@Brettgirl awwww brilliant!!! Its nice to see their faces light up when they feel it and congrats!!! Thanks

Brettgirl · 01/04/2018 15:26

@lmxo we were so lucky as today is the first day I've felt it outside too! We both got so emotional!
Thank you, he said it was the best present!
How are you doing? Xx

LMX0 · 01/04/2018 15:30

@Brettgirl its a lovely feeling!! Im not feeling great today hopefully tomorrow it will be a better day how are you doing?

SVRT19674 · 01/04/2018 16:10

@Becky I am 19 weeks and also a girl! I also can't believe it as I'm actually telling people after many years waiting for this. As to the job, my grandad used to say that a baby comes with a loaf of bread under its arm. That problem will solve itself. My husband has been unemployed for a year and has just started a new job, baby magic! Smile

Brettgirl · 01/04/2018 16:29

@lmxo sorry to hear you are not having such a good day.
I'm having a better one, I'm tired but I've done some housework, baking and made roast dinner so feeling good! Xx

Lyra2018 · 01/04/2018 18:56

I'm having a terrible time at Easter with family issues and chocolate induced migraines. I'm not well enough to visit my grandma in hospital on Monday and I've been getting panic attacks since she went into hospital and had one at work on Thursday, dreading going back.

LMX0 · 01/04/2018 19:04

@Brettgirl thanks i had a lie down and feel a little better so roast dinner is on and ive made some soup for lunches so yay!! Wow you've loads done i havent baked in ages i must bake again i always really enjoyed it!!!
@Lyra2018 sorry to hear that

Lyra2018 · 04/04/2018 10:18

How is everyone doing this week?
I've been signed off work until my next occupational health meeting which is both a relief and frustrating. My manager is off sick so the decision was made by his manager and not discussed with me.. Our hospital department is extremely short staffed without sickness so I can't cope without support...

LMX0 · 04/04/2018 23:05

Anyone feeling huge!?!? I tried on my maternity clothes i got today and i am HUGE!!

Lyra2018 · 05/04/2018 06:23

I do feel huge. Like the baby just sprung from nowhere. I'm also as clumsy as I was in junior school (I used to trip over my own feet and always have scrapped knees). I had a nice time few weeks where I was perfectly balanced (I'm normally a bit bum heavy). Slipped in the mud and went straight down gracefully. Now I'm frount heavy and have stumbled forwards a couple of times when I've crouched down. I need a person or prop to help me back up most of the time now. I'm a bit sad that my normal clothes don't all fit. I do like my new maternity coat. I was not expecting to need to wear such warm clothes in April but my new coat is very roomy so I can have lots of layers underneath.

Lphil93 · 05/04/2018 07:50

Just read through everyone seems to be getting on well😊 I've been ill with a cold this week but feeling much better now. 12 days until my scan 😄can't wait!!!!xx

LMX0 · 05/04/2018 08:10

@Lphil93 ohhh i bet you cant wait!!! You poor thing having the cold while preg is horrible

@Lyra2018 i got a new coat after xmas and purposely got a coat that was a few sizes bigger to suit a growing belly and im glad i did as its so cold!!

Lyra2018 · 08/04/2018 08:51

Ordered a few jojo clothes online then found a couple of stretchy trousers from charity shops. They are so comfy as my 'over the bump'maternity clothes are a bit uncomfortable at 26 weeks. I've found that the elastic around my upper abdomen and ribs is really uncomfortable when I'm a bit bloated. Anyone else found this? I've not put on any weight on my bum, may was lost it so I'm still my prepregnacy size under the bump so sports clothing is the most constable. I am very much like goldilocks or princess and the pea right now. I don't enjoy shopping and am getting clothes slowly, my town has no maternity clothes so I have to get them online unless I travel
