Hi there,

Does anyone feel like a chat?

Age: 34
TTC: 11 months
Due: July 2018

I had vivid dreams in the two week wait. Since BFP I've just had mildly sensitive boobs.

My colleague has just announced his wife is pregnant, they've just had their first scan, I can't help but feel he's stolen my thunder a little bit!

@Lphil93 good luck for tomorrow and let us know how it goes!!

@Noonaylor what a turnaround!! I hope the rest of your pregnancy will go smoothly for you now 😊

Heregoeseverything · 07/03/2018 13:16

Welcome back and good luck @Lphil93 !

I still haven't bought anything at 22 +4...! Might need to start! Was waiting until 20 week scan but have been super-busy since then...

LilyWhit · 07/03/2018 16:28

Hey all,
Had my 20 week scan ( 22 weeks tomorrow)
Baby is healthy weighs 1 pound 1 Oz ❤️ Never get bored of seeing the littlen on the big screen! So amazing! We are waiting in anticipation for hubby to beable to feel kicks!!
How is everyone else? Xx

LMX0 · 07/03/2018 22:23

@Heregoeseverything youve plenty of time to buy anything!!! So dont stress!!

@LilyWhit awww brilliant all go well? No you never tired of seeing them i had my gender scan last week big scan next week & i had to have a scan this evening to make sure everything was okay as i had a fall in work everything is fine thankfully!!

itallhappensforareason · 08/03/2018 10:55

Hi all, haven't been on here for a while. Been trying to take it all in! I still don't think I'm 100% there - it's such a weird feeling knowing there is a baby growing inside you and knowing your life is going to change forever! We had the 12 week scan last week where they said I was 13 weeks, so 14 weeks today. Hoping to start feeling better physically soon but was sick last night after I gagged brushing my teeth and sick again this morning whilst I was halfway through eating my breakfast Sad

Also noticed tiny stretch marks on my stomach this morning - already!!! Hmm

Lphil93 · 08/03/2018 20:43

Midwife rang me and said she can't fit me in for three weeks... this is going to be the longest three weeks ever. I'm dying to know if everything is okay :( xxxx

LilyWhit · 09/03/2018 21:01

@LMX0
Yes all ok! I’ve booked a 4D scan for 14th april I’ll be just over 27 weeks then!
Oh gosh sorry to hear you had a fall glad everything is ok though!
Are you going to breastfeed? Xx

LMX0 · 09/03/2018 22:37

@itallhappensforareason heres hoping things pick up for you!! & brushing your teeth is the worst thing!!

@Lphil93 is there anything u can do to distract yourself? I remember these weeks before my first scan it was horrible just waiting hopefully it will go a bit quicker for you!!

@LilyWhit oh brilliant!! The 4d scans are amazing at my gender scan we got a sneak peak at her in 4d and it was amazing!! I plan on trying to breastfed and seeing on how it goes and then ill maybe do both breast and bottle have you thought about bf?

LilyWhit · 09/03/2018 22:49

@LMX0 yes I got a sneak peek when I went for a private one at 18 weeks was crazy although baby looked like playdough/alien hahaha be nice to actually see it’s properly formed face at 27 weeks.

Yes I really want to BF hopefully I’ll beable too. Are you going to try and introduce a bottle straight away? I think I’ll express aswell so it can can get used to the bottle. Although I have no idea what’s for the best.
I’ve joined NCT so hopefully they will shed some light when I start in May! Is this your first baby? Xx

LilyWhit · 09/03/2018 22:52

@Lphil93 how many weeks are you? I paid for an early scan to put my mind at ease until I saw the midwife xx

Lphil93 · 10/03/2018 09:38

@LilyWhit I suppose I could do that. I did that last time at 8 weeks and they said all was fine and the two weeks later babies heart stopped beating dunno whether I want to do that again 😔x

LilyWhit · 10/03/2018 11:15

@Lphil93 oh bless your heart that is totally understandable. How many weeks are you?? Have you explained to the midwife how anxious you are to try and get an appointment sooner?
I was 8 weeks and 3 days when I had my very first scan.
I’m 22 weeks 2 days now xx

LMX0 · 10/03/2018 19:59

@LilyWhit yes they really do look a bit playdoh like dont they!!! Yes i want to try bottle as soon as i can as ive seen children that really struggled getting used to a bottle and to me there is no point in distressing mummy or baby if there is a way around it and it be handy for going out or if abby was to be with grandparents the NCT private classes or nhs? Yes im sure they deffo will!! Yes this is my first baby you?

@Lphil93 that is totally understandable why dint you ask the midwife u never know she may be able to fit u in sooner

Lphil93 · 11/03/2018 08:04

I did.. she said that's the soonest.. she was like I get that you're very worried but you just need to take it easy and I'll see you then. :( @LilyWhit I think I'm 9 weeks... but that's just a guess so we'll see eh 🤷🏼‍♀️😂xx

LilyWhit · 11/03/2018 08:48

@LMX0

Yes my 1st pregnancy too☺️ And yes I agree! I’m a nanny myself and the boys I look after were both bottle and breast fed straight away. Just wondering what bottles lots of children I’ve cared for have had reflux with Tommie tippiee, but with the electric breast pump they come with it.. but the dr brown ones seem to good bottles.. so I’m undecided which ones to invest in.
I’ve booked the NCT private classes there’s only 8 couples and they are all due from end of June - end of July which is nice. I start those on the 10th May.

@Lphil93 If your 9 weeks then fingers crossed all will be ok. Why don’t you book a scan for next week when your be 10 and then only have a short while to wait for midwife it will break it up a bit xx

LMX0 · 11/03/2018 14:39

Firstly happy mothers day to all you lovey mummies to be!!! 💖💙

@LilyWhit ive got some Tommie tippee bottles as it came in a big set but i might get some of the MAM bottles as my friend had them and they where very good the dr browns are good however they leak/explode when you out the lid on and shake it may be worth buying maybe one or two of a couple different ones to try oh thats really nice everyone will be around the same sort of stage i think ill wait until the NHS ones are you planning on doing them as well or just the NCT?

LilyWhit · 19/03/2018 13:44

What steriliser did you purchase @LMX0 Tommie tippee.

And no not planning on doing the nhs ones Just NCT.
How are you feeling??
I’m 23 weeks and 4 days and feeling great xxx

Noonaylor · 19/03/2018 17:26

I've just booked in for NHS classes as they are free. I will be going to nct coffee mornings and things tho too so I can meet people in my immediate area. Has anyone joined nct yet and started meeting people?

LilyWhit · 19/03/2018 20:03

I start my NCT on the 10th May xx

Deborah543 · 20/03/2018 06:44

Hi, can I join. My first baby is due in July. I'm 26 and it will be the first grandchild for 4 grandparents and the only mums I know are in work. I get on well with them but am feeling incredibly young and hormones are making me feel very teenagery. I have no risks physically but do have mental health issues. We've decided to pay for the nct course because it was highly recommended and during the weekend and evening. I've allready had a lot of sick leave at work this pregnancy and am now on reduced hours. I normally work shifts in a hospital and I'm glad I now have a regular manageable routine as I was struggling with insomnia but the combination of medication and work adjustments have really helped. I feel like I can now focus on looking after myself, my baby and enjoy spending time with my husband. Oh, and we are currently buying our first home, hopefully be moving in I'm may.

Noonaylor · 20/03/2018 08:14

Welcome @deborah543 and congratulations! 🎊 We are in a similar situation! I'm 27 first grandchild for both sets of parents and again I'm the first one in my friends to have a baby. The only mums are the mums at work and they are my mums age! It's all very scary and exciting. Really sorry to hear you have had a tough time at work with sickness and your mental health, but I'm happy to hear you have found a better work pattern and medication that has helped. I think it's brilliant that you have been honest and have been able to get the support you need! I'm due in August (18+1) and I can't wait! Such exciting news on the house too! We are currently doing ours up..! Should be done in a few months tho! So we can hopefully enjoy it a little before the baby comes!

Deborah543 · 20/03/2018 09:35

Hi, noonayor. We've just got to keep reminding ourselves mother nature intended us to have children in our 20s. Feel much happier now we are further along and the mortgage has been accepted. I'm lucky to have such supportive family and friends. My colleagues are only slightly older than me so I don't feel so young. I'll be so pleased to move as it will be so much cheaper and nicer than renting. And, due to parents support we've managed to find a lovely 4 bed house so we can even have a guest room! Now I'm pregnant I've swallowed my pride I had and accept my parents money offer. Just crossing my fingers that it doesn't all fall through.

LilyWhit · 20/03/2018 10:17

@deborah543 welcome to the group Hun!
I’ve just turned 28 and this is the first grandchild aswell for both parents.. I suffer from anxiety. I Lost my brother at the age of 28 to meningitis 4 years ago. We were so close and reaching the age he was when his passed has thrown all sorts of emotions into the mix.. being pregnant has been amazing but only wish he was by my side experiencing this happy time with’me. I went counselling and CBT and have sorted myself out so feeling very positive now..
I’m so glad your on the road to recovery and being open certainly does help.
I have a small circle of friends but they are single. We have just started getting the nursery ready. I’m due on 12th July when are you due Hun? Xx

LilyWhit · 20/03/2018 10:18

( I think NCT will be great for us!! ) when do you start yours? Xx

Lyra2018 · 20/03/2018 20:06

12th July too! Sorry to hear of your brother, couldn't imagine losing a sibling... My nct course starts 20th May, about the same time we will be moving house with any luck. I can't wait. My anti-psychotics were upped today... After discussing with my husband I'll probably stick to the low dose for now... I'm a healthcare professional therefore a rubbish patient. But pregnancy shouldn't be treated as so much of a medical thing...
