Overdue baby

I was due to have my first baby on 1st August. I've tried everything to get baby to arrive (had a sweep on 1st too) apart from sex as OH reckons he will hurt baby (typical man) 🙄

Any other suggestions even just to take my mind off the fact that baby isn't here and I see new babies everywhere I go?

Just got back from being checked over at the hospital. Waters haven't broken and it's looking like she isn't really on her way, she's just too comfortable in there! Looking like the induction on Sunday will probably go ahead. X

SarahS2404 · 10/08/2017 20:47

@RedPandaMama we might have our babies together at this rate! I'm being induced on Sunday too! X

Been waking up every hour or so since 11pm having what I think are contractions. Whole stomach goes hard and breathing gets tricky, starts in my back and moves around, quite painful.

I'm at the point now where I've had so many bloody false alarms I don't trust my instinct anymore!

mummymattersx · 11/08/2017 06:58

They hurt do it could be a sign :)))))
Good luck xx

mummymattersx · 11/08/2017 06:59

So not do 😫

RedPandaMama · 11/08/2017 09:40

Contractions every 9 minutes and lost my mucus plug which was streaked with blood, I think this is it Grin

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 11/08/2017 10:23

Excellent!!! Am hoping to hear news of a newborn RedPanda soon xx

beck3001 · 11/08/2017 10:24

OP.. saw the photo of your cat.. think they look similar?!
I'm due tomorrow.. my other half is very impatient as am I but it's tough when he keeps asking about every little twinge or comes home and says 'are you not in labour yet?!'
I'm tired :( haha

Good luck @RedPandaMama looks like the end is near for you!

I've been having contractions this morning (got woken up with a horrible one at 8am) they've been very irregular though. 😕 20 minutes, then 6 minutes then 15 minutes then 5 minutes then 15 minutes. Very annoying!

@beck3001 yes very similar! Aw, I hope you don't have to wait as long as us lot 😂 these last 10 days have been the longest of my life so far!

Hi all,
Hope you're all well! I had 0 sleep last night and I've been having pretty intense contractions all night and all this morning, my last labour I had no sleep and it was really long as I was exhausted 😩 should I try and rest or keep active. I've already had a bath, taken some paracetamol. Even just a solid hour of sleep would make the world of difference!

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 11/08/2017 11:14

Hi mamarach26
I would go to sleep! Now! If you can! I was having contractions all of Sunday day and should have rested. When the real labour started, at about 11pm, that eve I was exhausted and by the time she came at 5am, I hadn't slept for hours! You'll be working hard to push the wee one out and once they're born, sleep, what's sleep? Hmm Sleep, sleep, sleep like there's no tomorrow! lack of sleep is driving me slightly insane! Grin

RedPandaMama · 11/08/2017 11:33

I'm another one seconding sleep! I'm napping in between contractions as the idea of being tired and trying to push a baby out is awful! X

mamarach26 · 11/08/2017 11:46

Thanks for the replies, I have been trying to nap but they are too strong and feel stronger when I'm sat/lay down! But I am so tired already 😢

RedPandaMama · 11/08/2017 11:47

Take some paracetamol, dark room, mug of something warm and out an audiobook on. Even if you don't sleep the rest and relaxation will be good while you still can xx

RedPandaMama · 11/08/2017 11:50

Have you guys got any ideas for home pain relief? I've been laid in bed spooning a pillow and sleeping but I know being active will move things along. I had a warm bath earlier which was lovely.

SarahS2404 · 11/08/2017 11:52

@RedPandaMama have you tried a hot water bottle? My cousin said when she was in labour, having someone rub her back helped take her mind off the pains before they got worse x

I think I'll give up trying to sleep l will just rest sat up in bed. I wish there was a sleeping pill you could take, the contractions are really intense. When I have one, my bum feels like it's opening too Blush

mamarach26 · 11/08/2017 12:01

The contractions I'm having are coming quick now too, they make my whole body shake for a while after it. The only thing that soothes me is being on my hands and knees and rocking. But after each one I get more and more tired.

SarahS2404 · 11/08/2017 12:07

@mamarach26 have you called your maternity ward? I'd definitely want to go in x

Not yet, i know I'll just get sent home! And it hurts to sit down, so I don't wanna sit in the car for 30 mins not being able to move Sad

IntoTheWoods84 · 11/08/2017 12:42

Wow! Good luck all of you with contractions! You got this!
Crampy after sweep yesterday but back to square one today - we'll get there :-)

SarahS2404 · 11/08/2017 13:12

@mamarach26 my cousin ended up on all fours in the back of the car 😂 just call them and see what they say cos it can spiral very quickly

@IntoTheWoods84 aw! I feel your pain I was exactly the same x

OP posts:
LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 11/08/2017 13:13

I was thinking the same mamarach26. Feeling the need to poo is a sign that you're ready. But i understand what you're saying about being uncomfortable when sitting and the horrid thought of being sent home.
I'll be checking in on this thread all day if you need any distractions, from the contractions! I really am here all day! Grin

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 11/08/2017 13:20

Sorry to hear that into the woods84. So frustrating, especially when the end really is in sight!
