Overdue baby

I was due to have my first baby on 1st August. I've tried everything to get baby to arrive (had a sweep on 1st too) apart from sex as OH reckons he will hurt baby (typical man) 🙄

Any other suggestions even just to take my mind off the fact that baby isn't here and I see new babies everywhere I go?

Here's my little one too! She was contemplating whether to allow me any sleep last night.
She decided against it!

When I rang the hospital they told me to go in once I was having contractions every 5 minutes so I did. When I got there they weren't as strong as I'd been having and saw a very snotty midwife. She sent me home. Pains got to every 4 minutes but I was shattered so went to bed. They've been coming and going all night but I've not been keeping track cos I wanted to sleep which hasn't really happened. I'm hoping today is the day!

I've been catching up on this thread as it's lovely to see how things are progressing for you all. I am now 3 days overdue. I was offered a sweep on Tuesday one day before due date and I refused. Will be offered oneagain at +5 but thinking of refusing again as I'd like to have the opportunity for labour to start spontaneously. Here's hoping!

I'm back in hospital and not leaving without baby this time but I'm in agonising pain with contractions so I'm hoping it's tonight :)

What a fabulous head of hair she has Lloyd! Mine also decided that sleep was pretty much unnecessary last night! 😴

@SarahS2404 good luck! Hope everything goes well for you! I did the same thing I insisted on being admitted. Only you know how painful it is

Finally we had ours too! Florence Ava was born at 3pm on 12th August weighting 7lb 6oz after a 36 hour ordeal! She's so amazing

Can't believe we did it without our inductions too! So proud of us, hooray!

Hi- anyone out there still overdue? I'm 6 days over and starting to feel really fed up! Due to be induced on Thursday if nothing happens in the meantime! Had one sweep- got another booked for Tuesday! 😏 Come on baby!👶🏻

We went home from the hospital yesterday evening as I needed my own bed. We all got 6 hours without interruption! Probably would have got more but i didn't want to leave her any longer without a feed!

Hi guys, I'm not overdue (currently 39+3) but I'm due to be induced today due to baby's size (scan on Friday indicated he is currently over 10lb). Had a sweep yesterday which showed I was 3cm dilated and midwife could feel baby's head, since then I've lost my plug and had period type pains, but everything's quieted down overnight! Hoping it won't take too much encouragement to get things going today when I do go in...

@yolkybokey I was like that on Friday night & came back in yesterday morning. They gave me some cocodamol at about 3 o clock and then my pains just got worse and worse.

Still at home, I've been having irregular contractions for most of the afternoon though, accompanied by lots of bloody mucus (lovely!!)
Trying to rest while I still can. My midwife reckons she'll see me tonight but I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much...!

@yolkybokey I only got bloody mucus at 5cm dilated in hospital and my pains were crucifying then too x
