Overdue baby

I was due to have my first baby on 1st August. I've tried everything to get baby to arrive (had a sweep on 1st too) apart from sex as OH reckons he will hurt baby (typical man) 🙄

Any other suggestions even just to take my mind off the fact that baby isn't here and I see new babies everywhere I go?

Well I'm definitely in labour. Contractions about 4 mins apart. I've to call maternity at 3 mins apart.

Been in the bath most of the evening. I'd recommend that.

RedPandaMama · 10/08/2017 00:03

Something potentially exciting and slightly gross just happened but not a clue if it was anything?!

Was getting weird pains low down as if baby was drilling her head into me or something. Suddenly some liquid leaked out, not much but it smelled a lot like semen (bit vile I know), went for a wee and slightly more came out. Not loads though so I'm thinking maybe some of my waters but not all? Then, awkward, loads of air came out of my vagina in a sort of fart noise. SO attractive I know.

Me and DP have no idea what is going on so are just sat here waiting for any developments.

Congrats banana I hope it all goes smoothly for you!

Aww Sarah I was really rooting for you, feel like we've been waiting forever now! X

Ookmybanana · 10/08/2017 00:06

Sounds like your waters RedPanda. Eek!

Thank you for the wishes. I'll hopefully see you on the other side.

NinaMarieP · 10/08/2017 00:50

Sounds great RedPanda. Mine went at home in small dribbles (without sound affects) and even at the hospital they carried on leaking before finally going in a few big gushes.

Great news Banana, hope you are holding your baby soon!

RedPandaMama · 10/08/2017 00:58

@NinaMarieP did you ring the hospital right away or wait until you had contractions or similar? I'm not sure whether to ring as nothing much is happening now, or to wait it out a bit longer.

NinaMarieP · 10/08/2017 03:26

I started having regular cramps and tightenings at around 3 (6 minutes apart)they were stronger by 4 and moving closer. I called at about 7.30 when I'd had an hour of contractions around 3 minutes apart. But I was coping just about ok at that point if I'd been struggling I would have called sooner.

NinaMarieP · 10/08/2017 03:28

Sorry just reminded myself of your past post which was about your waters. I was reasonably sure I was in/going into labour at that point.

There's no harm in calling to say you think your waters have gone because they won't want you going too long at home like that, in case of infection.

Hope things have progressed for you in the mean time.

BringMeTea123 · 10/08/2017 07:34

Wow ladies. I didn't check in at all yesterday and sounds like everything is proceeding for everyone. Sarah I was thinking of you last night (weird I know lol) but sounds like you are getting close to meeting your baby. Don't think you'll need to be induced! All the best Hun.

All the best @Ookmybanana how exciting. I'm excited for everyone lol 🙈

SarahS2404 · 10/08/2017 08:26

I hope you're both doing okay @RedPandaMama & @Ookmybanana !!

I've had no pains overnight 😢 back to playing the waiting game again! I never thought I'd be so disappointed about not being in pain

I had that weird bit of water leakage, fell asleep and nothing today really. Some painless cramps, maybe Braxton Hicks, and nothing else Sad

SarahS2404 · 10/08/2017 08:41

@RedPandaMama I had the water leakage the night before last but not again since. Super annoyed 🙁

DigitalGhost · 10/08/2017 08:42

I've had contractions all bloody night at 15 min apart Sad I'm so tired! Off to see midwife this morning for a sweep hoping it gets things going abit quicker

SarahS2404 · 10/08/2017 08:43

@DigitalGhost good luck! I hope atleast one of us has some luck today. I'm not holding my breath that I'm going to go naturally anymore 🙄

How frustrating for you @SarahS2404 👎🏼. I know how hard it is but trust me, relax and slob out in front of the tv for the next few days! Preserve your energy ready for baby 😘. I'm sure it'll happen soon for you!

@DigitalGhost you must be exhausted! Fingers crossed baby gets a move on for you. They'll be here soon

Ookmybanana · 10/08/2017 09:23

It's all very annoying. After regular 4 min contraction, it started to quieten down at 2amish and I'm back to irregular contractions about 20 or so minutes apart.

BrewFlowersCake for all those waiting.

SarahS2404 · 10/08/2017 09:28

Back to bouncing on my ball 👍🏻

SarahS2404 · 10/08/2017 09:55

I'm not sure if it's another sign but I've had very leaky boobs these last few days!

Hey! Can I join you ladies?

I'm 41 weeks today - lost a bit of plug yesterday and have had a sweep today so cramping a bit, but no contractions. Come on baby!

SarahS2404 · 10/08/2017 15:41

@IntoTheWoods84 Aw! How're you getting on? I bet you're fed up too

OP posts:
IntoTheWoods84 · 10/08/2017 18:52

I am! It's such a weird time isn't it - inbetween...
Still cramping every so often after sweep so really hope it means something/anything!
Hope you're doing okay too - it'll happen!

I went over 12 days with my dd she was my second child was only 3 days over with my first.
I was so over being pregnant this time round had bad SPD. I had numerous sweeps and thought the first one was working as the night I had it I felt contractions but still no luck. Was due in for an induction , they wired me up to the monitor and she asked me if I could feel the contractions I said nope as I genuinely couldn't. They said I was contracting so decided not to induce me and leave me to it. I just wanted to go home was booked in for 8:30 am induction I had my daughter was born at 10:33pm that night. Was a long day. Don't know why they just didn't send me home as when I had my son I was in labour for 3 days at home and only went in when the contractions were unbearable I was 7cm when I got there. With my daughter I wasn't even 5 cm would of rather been at home.
It's all worth the wait though and I tried everything to try and nothing worked.

With my son I tried raspberry leaf tea a week before his due date and I blame this for the horrible contractions I had 3 days before he was born everyone was agony couldn't sleep or anything went to the hospital got sent home and the midwife came out and said just to take paracetamol. And second time round couldn't even feel the bloody contractions which I suppose is better than what I went through the does time round. All the best x

SarahS2404 · 10/08/2017 19:34

@butterfly198615 that sounds tiring!

@IntoTheWoods84 hopefully it is working for you! I've started with some pains again tonight so I'm hoping they carry on! Spicy Chinese for tea haha :)
