Overdue baby

I was due to have my first baby on 1st August. I've tried everything to get baby to arrive (had a sweep on 1st too) apart from sex as OH reckons he will hurt baby (typical man) 🙄

Any other suggestions even just to take my mind off the fact that baby isn't here and I see new babies everywhere I go?

I'm tempted to describe my sweeps and bloody show to people who keep asking if there's any sign of baby yet... do you think that might put them off?

@NinaMarieP Haha! It's worth a try, might try that idea myself. Take a picture of your show and send it to them see if they reply😂

Haha now that really would be revolting 😂 maybe if I get really desperate over the weekend.

No babies then?!
I'm still waiting too. Will be 9 days overdue. I have spent most of the evening on my gym ball in varying alluring positions. Hopefully things move along this weekend for us all.

Oh god yeah. Somebody was actually really shocked to see me out in my car by myself!! It's almost like people think I could sporadically go into labour and have the baby within 5 minutes!! Anybody get any luck last night? Xx

No luck here I'm afraid.

Was very crampy yesterday and on and off through the night, with added backache which made sleeping hard. But it hasn't gone anywhere.

No luck with me either, I woke up at 4am for the loo and was having period type pains and back ache. Not slept properly since as I've been very uncomfy but nothing has progressed :(

Ugh. What do we have to do to make these babies come??

Give up wanting them to come?

Someone said to me it might be like trying to get pregnant. Once you stop you get pregnant so maybe if we stop wanting our babies to come they might decide to make an appearance 😂

I'm the same - had a really sore lower back all yesterday night, pelvis is aching, weird cramps for a while. Then nothing I did wake up very... damp, though, then when I went to the loo a bit more clear liquid came out. Not sure if my waters are trickling out or just having weird discharge or what to be honest! Something similar happened a few weeks ago and ended up going for a scan to check amniotic fluid and they said my levels were fine so it's probably not that. Arghhh.

Im going to go for a bit of a walk and buy some baking ingredients. Even if the baby doesn't arrive today at least I'll have a nice plate of cookies to eat

my 2nd was 12 days over and 3rd 8 days over. longest days of my life! I literally tried everything! they will come when they're ready ( not helpful I know 😀)

@RedPandaMama that sounds like a good plan. Cookies are always good :)

No luck here. Been for a walk today and been bouncing on the ball all morning lol. Getting so fed up with family phone calls and texts!

Book a load of really lovely awesome stuff in your diary for the next few days:

Monday - candlelit dinner with DP
Tues - lovely walk then nails done
Wednesday - massage/swim/pamper
Thursday - have nice lunch booked with chums
Friday - cinema

Make sure all appointments fully loaded and everyone on board....

...and watch spontaneous labour start instantly to blow your plans

I'm having regular (every 4-6 minutes) tightenings with quite strong cramps low down... don't want to get my hopes up though!

@NinaMarieP have you rang the midwife? How are you getting on? Please keep us updated :)

No haven't rung anyone yet, want to wait and see if they carry on before I do anything. Took a shower and walked around for a while and they haven't stopped, yet. They're pretty sore (can easily talk through them but they're bad enough to make me want to concentrate on breathing) but the pain is all low down where you'd feel normal period pain so I'm not convinced yet.

I've been having aches today too at regular intervals but my stomach isn't going particularly hard and the aches are very low down, could these be contractions? I feel like I have no idea what I'm waiting for!

I swear by a) what LegendofBeans says, and b) talking to the baby and telling them you are ready for them to come out and want to meet them - complete woo bullshit but both times I've gone into labour that night so I'm going to do it again this time. (not yet, am only 20 weeks)

@Gunpowder I've tried telling baby I don't know how many times that I'm ready for them over the past week and nothing has happened. Tried making plans too and nothing has worked yet haha!

Ooh nina that sounds promising! I have had what I assume are some weak contractions today and bloody show, but everything stopped a couple of hours ago . Really thought it was going to happen today.

Pains are still low down but regular, bloody sore and sometimes feeling them in my back as well. Hoping this is for real now!

Awww sorry Sarah. It's obvs very comfy in there! I know how annoying it is. When Kate Middleton went into labour I burst into tears because I was two days overdue and I thought it wasn't fair!

Aww @Libbylove2015 hopefully it won't be too long. I was the same the other day but nothing has happened since :/
